I have been using the app for 10 months and it can be a bit slow. Today my account was "locked for maintenance". My account is due to mature on 1st March and I'm worried my money will be gone.

I tried very hard to open an account. They didn't recognise the bank account I was using for transfers (Barclays!) and their system for trying to pay in money was so hopelessly I complicated I cancelled the account and made a complaint to them. I put my money elsewhere!

Awful service.
Do not do what they say they are going to do.
Never return calls.
Promise to write but don't.
There's always a 'Columbo' moment that prevents them carrying out your instructions despite the fact that they told you the process to follow in the first place!
Been trying to close my accounts with them for 5 months (both in person in branch and on the (un)Help Line), but there's always a reason they can't proceed (they definitely haven't heard of Consumer Duty!!)

I filled in a survey sent to me by email so thought I would leave a Trustpilot review too and am honestly shocked by the low overall rating. I’ve never had a problem in the over two years that I’ve been a member, other than the occasional secure message not sending (but logging into the website seems to get it to send fine.)
My latest experience was opening the Regular Saver ISA, a product that I’m a fan of but unable to get with the majority of those that offer them due to not being a local. The form was posted first class on the 8th, account opened on the 11th and passbook in my hands on the 13th. Very impressive service at any time of year, but the demand for ISAs will naturally be higher at this time making it all the more so.
Would prefer in app applications for non-ISA accounts (was website only the last time I did one) and account funding by debit card (parent is looking for a new account but doesn’t want online banking on their current account) but we can’t have everything. I have recommended Saffron to those I believe they would suit and will continue to do so.

The parliamentary group took evidence from building society customers who have lost money as a result of Philips' plunge into administration. According to those present, the evidence was 'damning' with customers – nearly all elderly – pushed into inappropriate products.
Building society customers were drawn into Philips' net in the late-2010s when they were encouraged at branches to take out wills – and trusts that would protect their assets (their home and investments) from future care fees and inheritance tax.
Originally, these were provided by sister companies The Will Writing Company (TWWC) and Family Trust Corporation (FTC) – with the building societies receiving commission on each sale they made.

Following advice from you, my mother placed her house in a trust with your partner organisation The Family Trust Corporation. She lost ownership of her home, it has cost us in excess of £14k and years of distress to rectify this. Your refusal to engage and talk about compensation, despite pressure from Kemi Badenoch MP to do so, is shameful. Anyone else affected, please contact Action Group Philips Trust on Facebook.
Regrettably not the Building Society I joined more than 10 years ago. On line platform is clunky, passwords longer than other providers etc etc.
Time to find an alternative Society. Staff are brilliant but that’s not enough.

Wish I had read reviews before I tried opening the account. It has taken six phone calls to get to the point of opening an account and logging in. I applied online and never heard a thing. They were then closed for two days 'staff training' (Really, in this day and age you close the whole business for two days?? The staff all seem very pleasant i think your systems are the issue). The instruction email for logging in are flawed. They ask you for a memorable word up to 30 characters long yet you can only enter 16. I could go on. I was just googling to check they really are FSC registered as they seem so incompetent and found Trustpilot. Needless to say I don't think I will credit the account after reading the reviews about how hard it is to withdraw!
