I have been a customer of RUSH Hair & Besuty Brighton for over 2 years. I always have a great experience at the salon. The salon is always clean, stylish and relaxing. All the staff are very welcoming and Nick and Alex are my go to stylists although I have to add that I have used the services of some of the other stylists and they have also been excellent. This is hands down the best salon I have been to and I have no hesitation recommending it to others. They make you feel at ease and always have a friendly consultation beforehand.

Nick and the team are fabulous! I have unruly curls that have always been the bane of my life, and trying to find a hairdresser skilled at cutting and blow drying has always been a struggle. I have been going to Rush Brighton since I arrived ed in town in 2018 and will go nowhere else. Even my mother in law travels down from Leicestershire to have her hair done at Rush.

Maddie at Rush Reigate was fantastic when I visited. I explained what I wanted and what I didn’t like about my current bob haircut. Maddie helped me decide on a bob style that worked better for the thickness of my hair and colour that blended nicely.

I am a regular customer of Rush, with Nik as my hairdresser, who always does a fantastic job with my regular colour.
The staff also give good tips on keeping my hair healthy and always answer any questions that I have.
The whole team are super friendly and I always enjoy having a chat with everyone whenever I go.
They are also very accommodating when I have to move appointments last minute for medical reasons.
Fully recommend for anyone to have your hair done there!

Not even worth a 1 star review! Ridiculous service. Got cancelled twice in the space of few days last minute! Very unprofessional and unhelpful. Now I have to find somewhere else to go in such short notice as I will be going away. I strongly would not recommend this salon they are the worst and I am fuming!

Got my haircut by Dona at Rush Basildon and she was amazing at handling my difficult, very thick, wavy hair. She took so much time and care and I felt very looked after and listened too. I was thrilled with my hair and will definitely go back to her. She is an excellent hairdresser

I have booked appointment and 2 days later without even phone call they rescheduled. Via email. No agreement if time is suitable for me, no explanation why. Nothing. When I tried to cancelled i have been shown 25£ cancellation fee! Yeah sure for such poor customer service? Didn't bother to ask if moving for over hour later is ok for me, they just moved it without asking. For such money there is extreme lack of customer service.
Wouldn't recommend if you value your time as they have no respect towards customers.

⭐️ One of the most traumatic “simple hair wash” experiences I’ve ever witnessed ⭐️
I genuinely never thought I’d be writing a review like this about a hair wash. But here we are.
Yesterday, my boyfriend went to Rush Hair Salon in Harrow for what should have been the most basic, low-risk service imaginable: a wash, treatment, and blow-dry.
The reason? He has a bad back and physically couldn’t bend to wash his own hair for a week. Simple problem, simple solution - or so we thought.
My boyfriend has very long hair, reaching his waist. About half of it is natural, healthy, straight Asian hair. The other half is bleached to a level 10 and obviously more fragile, high porosity, but very well cared for. He knows his hair, looks after it meticulously, and explained everything clearly during the consultation.
He asked for:
• Gentle handling
• some bonding treatment
• Nourishing masks
• Extra care due to the condition of his hair
The stylist even said at the beginning that “it’s not in bad condition” and recommended Olaplex.
🚨 This is where things went downhill fast.
During the wash:
• His hair was shampooed once only, despite a full week of buildup
• The back of his scalp, close to the. The neck was completely untouched
• No proper scalp cleansing
• No sectioning
• No detangling precautions
• No gentleness whatsoever
As a result, his waist-length hair became one massive, tightly compacted knot in the basin.
What followed was honestly painful to watch.
Three stylists spent over an hour and a half trying to detangle it AGGRESSIVELY. Hair was yanked, ripped, snapped. The comments being made while doing so were shocking:
“You know what they say. Beauty is pain.”
“It’s because your hair is so damaged.”
“My hands hurt, your hair is too long.”
At every point, the blame was shifted: the basin, high porosity hair, and other stylists. Everything except the lack of skill and care during the wash itself.
By the end:
• A huge amount of hair was lost
• There is visible thinning
• Massive breakage
• Years of careful growth damaged in one appointment
💔 My boyfriend was devastated.
He’s been growing and caring for his hair for years, and losing this much hair from a wash was deeply upsetting. He is completely deflated and heartbroken.
When it came to payment, we were offered a small discount (to £75 in total🤡). No sincere apology. No accountability.
When I calmly explained why this was unacceptable and the discount should be much more generous the stylist became defensive, raised his voice, and started arguing with us.
He went as far as saying:
• Hair like my boyfriend’s “doesn’t belong in hair salons”
• The damage was caused by other stylists
• That this has “never happened before”, which contradicts other staff who said long hair tangling in that basin has happened multiple times in the salon
Eventually, he shouted at us and told us never to come back.
The manager did step in and attempted to calm things down, but no real solution, compensation, or meaningful response was offered.
This whole situation: the rough handling, the comments, and also the SERIOUS HYGIENE CONCERN I witnessed (tools dropped on the floor and reused, towels used to wipe the floor and then placed on workstations and products) wasn't addressed by her.
We left feeling shocked, upset, and frankly heartbroken.
📌 After reading other reviews, it’s clear this isn’t an isolated issue. Complaints are met with copy-paste responses asking for explanation emails that, according to multiple reviewers, are never answered.

My advice?
If you have:
• Long hair
• Bleached or processed hair
• Curly, textured, or delicate hair
• Simply hair
• Expect basic professionalism and hygiene
• Self-respect
PLEASE GO ANYWHERE ELSE‼️
There are plenty of other salons in and around Harrow that understand how to treat delicate hair and clients with care and respect.
A hair wash should never end in trauma. 😔

Very poor customer service.
I booked an appointment to the Rush hair Balham. Unfortunately, I was running late so I call the place to let them know that I will be 5 to 10 min late. Which end up being 15min. However when I spoke to the lady she said. “ That’s okay come whenever you can”
After rushing to get there as soon as I can paying transport to make it as soon as I can. When I got there, the lady cancel my appointment excusing that I said 10 min not 15.
I explain her that I called, should’ve let me know when I did she kept giving me poor excuses that 5 min makes huge differences for the hair dresser. When the problem was their poor phone communication and her lack of empathy.
I do understand I was late, but I called to let them know and their answer was that there was not a problem with that. In fact telling me to come whenever I could. Which was not true.
Making waste time and money as I don’t live locally.
Technique is important but a bad experience with staff even more. Made having a negative view about this company. I don’t feel I want to this saloon or any other under this name.
I know some others the experience might be different. Still it gives negative vibes because of this issue.

I wish I could give no stars for my stylist!
I went to the Maidstone branch recently and had my hair done by the manager Emily, I was absolutely gobsmacked by her severe lack of professionalism and managerial skills, firstly she looked as though she had just woken up and didn’t want to be there, secondly I felt so bad for the other members of staff there as she was continually being so rude to them and interrupting their conversations, I was appalled at how low she spoke to them particularly the poor pregnant lady and the girl with long ginger hair
I cannot begin to express my frustrations with this service, my hair came out mediocre, I don’t believe the level of service was worth the cost. With manager myself I was appalled. I went to the salon hoping for a calm and relaxing time to unwind and go home feeling beautiful, however what I got was the total opposite, I had to endure listening to members of staff be verbally abused and belittled, I had my hair harshly pulled with the brush and my hairdresser kept leaving me to go and do things at the reception desk, there was no attention to detail or nothing to make me feel at all special, the hair could’ve been done to the same amount of precision and care by a trainee.
I could see other customers leaving with beautiful hair that had been clearly done by skilled hairdressers, however I felt I left looking and certainly feeling the worst out of everyone there!
I trusted that because she was the ‘ manager ‘ she would be the most skilled hairdresser there but now I know that’s a total lie
