I've bought many items over the years from Rails but never sold anything.
Decided to sell a 00 Model Train and not only were Rails quick to reply, their quote was more than any other.
They paid as soon as it was received, very quick and easy service indeed, thanks Ben/Jake.

I ordered a small N scale wagon from their online shop, at the checkout I was given an option to have the item weathered, for a fee. I decided to go ahead with this. After a few days I emailed Rails of Sheffield to ask when I might expect to receive the item. I received a pretty abrupt reply saying it could take up to two weeks.
Almost two weeks later I contacted them again but this time I was told that weathering can take up to three weeks.
Absolute joke for such a tiny item. I could understand if there was a waiting list however when I asked for the item to be sent unweathered they replied that it had already been started.
I just hope if and when it turns up that the weathering is perfect and that it's been worth the wait, I have my doubts already!

Having accepted Rails estimated offer for my list of 20 items of OO gauge rolling stock they arranged collection by Parcelforce ( Tracked and Insured ).
On delivery they quickly inspected the stock , confirmed their offer and paid by bank transfer .

Rails have purchased my model railway collection.
Communication was excellent. They organized collection via Parcelforce. My only reservation was the lack of info from Parcelforce. It turned out that their earliest pickup time was 14.00 but no-one told me this, so I wasted a morning waiting in for them.

Excellent customer service, the company performed flawlessly and did exactly as promised. A fair valuation for my used railway rolling stock that was collected, checked and paid for very promptly. Will use them again next time

Purchased a Class 37 Bachmann Deluxe for a great price. Had reason to email the store just after receipt of locomotive. I got a return phone call about 15 minutes later (from Shane - amazing). The help provided was unexpected and brilliantly accurate. All my issues were solved as I was talked through the correct operation of the loco. I even received a follow up email confirming the conversation. Then the very next day another email checking all was ok and if I was happy? Happy! They offered me an acceptable price and have paid it quickly into my account. The ir communication was first rate throughout the whole process also.

I have recently sold a quantity of OO scale British and HO scale American model railway items to Rails of Sheffield. This is the first time I have used this company to sell models, and I was very impressed at their efficiency and quick service.

This was my first time using Rails of Sheffield's trade in service having used other companies in years gone by, and I was very impressed by the efficiency of their service and the communication that I had with Ben and Jake throughout the process. Having received a prompt response and offer to my initial submission, the agreed price for the items was in my account within a matter of hours of the items being received at their end. In fact the longest and slowest part of the process was the delivery transit time between my dropping the parcel off and its delivery at the other end.

In respect of the delivery aspect, the only slight disappointment from my point of view was the fact that a home collection service is only offered for trade-ins which total £250 or more whereas others that I have used in the past have offered other options to drop parcels off etc. rather than having to pay and arrange postage myself. In the grand scheme of things though this was a minor issue and I was impressed overall.
