I have used PurplePort for over 5 years and have found it really useful. I have been able to contact and hire studios, make up artists and models on numerous occasions. I have managed to avoid any pitfalls by a combination of common sense and using the site properly. I have done over 50 shoots which has enabled me to greatly improve my photography to the point that models contact me offering to work with me to improve their portfolio. People can check each others photos and references before making contact which is very helpful and offers some Over 5 years protection to both sides. Nothing is ever perfect but so far I have only had good experiences with PurplePort and my photography has improved greatly.

Hopeless. Uploaded an avatar to my profile without realising it was against the rules and they banned my account. Asked them to allow me to revise the list and they refused. Don't bother.

Been in PurplePort a month or two now and I’m really impressed. Great way to showcase your work, meet fellow creatives and arrange shoots.

This site is full of perverts and weirdos posing as ‘photographers’ I would avoid it at all costs. If you’re not an actual model then stop trying and get yourself on onlyfans it’s much safer.

As a newcomer I asked for an account and uploaded a couple of really decent photos. I got a ticket to show more variety in my photos because most were from one shoot. I do understand that. So I uploaded some nature photos and about dogs and horses.
When I revisited my account I noticed they bluntly removed some photos which I lliked perfectly well. So it is not about my taste but theirs, it apparently is not my account but theirs. Purpleport is most arrogant! There are better alternatives.

PurplePort is a safe and well managed resource for models and creatives to showcase their work and meet in a manged environment without judgement or bias. The safety features and advice for members is the best that I have seen on any site that I have used.
Great models, great advice and great inspiration!

I was looking for a model for a very basic shoot ,someone local , no topless or nudity required.
Most of the models on the sight have been inactive for months if not years those that appeared active didn't reply.
I've stuck with it and eventually had some success,but there are still many models listed who aren't active anymore.
There are also those that just don't reply.

I have been a member of the Purpleport family for many years - for me it it is the best and only website for photographers, models and studios to collaborate and be inspired.

Will be staying well clear as they always get my reviews deleted for some reason, I used your site I can prove so. You keep living in your fantasy world :)

"Now you can only see free members as purpleport VIP" what a joke! I have been registered on this website for years and they get more and more greedy.

I subscribed to the site for over 7 years and received over 40 positive references over that period. The majority of the models I worked were absolutely fine, as were most of the rank and file members.

The problem with P.P, as mentioned in so many of the negative site reviews posted, lies with the so called "administration team" and in particular the abrasive individual at its head.
He insists on imposing his personal opinions at EVERY opportunity and completely dominates the site forums supposedly set up as opportunities for open discussion. This uncalled for and outrageously biased form of interference at every level has led to a site culture of petty cliques and sycophants. A case of those who agree with "the boss" invariably find themselves applauded and very much "IN" whereas those who have the audacity to disagree can find themselves quite literally "OUT"
Don't be fooled either by the over 22,000 members boast. The vast majority don't contribute to the platform in any shape or form; memberships lie dormant, all but expired and forgotten, and the actual numbers, including the aforementioned "inner circle" group who regularly participate in anything, can be numbered in hundreds not thousands.
What a shame that the few in charge allow their overly bloated egos and status to interfere with their better judgement, impartiality and professionalism.

VERDICT... Super looking vessel from the outside, captained by a pompous and hopelessly out of touch skipper, and set to perpetually navigate around the same bleak rock!

Well what can i say, been a member for a few years, and had a few great photoshoots. Then my account got banned with no reason or warning.

As for the number of members, yeah there is that many members but most of them havent been active for 6 months plus. Just using the inactive people to boost the numbers.

As a amateur photographer i cant have the best of the best photos, but to create an account they want you to have 10 good photos and if they don't like them they will just remove your application making you start from scratch, so don't write a lot on your profile as you may have to start over who knows how many times.

Contacting support, good luck, for such a "big" site it can take them upto 8 hours just to check your profile. And more than that if you just want to speak to someone or ask a question thats if your lucky to get a reply.

Unless your into adult content, don't bother, as it's filled with it from the minute you get your account.

I have had a number of account on purple port of over the years as a photographer and I have found it to be a good place as it gave me access to others creatives mainly models and over time I have worked with a arrange of female models from the average to some really amazing ones and met some interesting people.

There is lots going on as its a Community if your into the Model & Photographer scene your in the right place but if not then it's probably not the best choice for you.

I think realistically as a photographer and based on own experience your not going to make money from shoots with models maybe if your into stock photography you might, otherwise you might want to look elsewhere but If your a model then you can almost certainly make money with bit of work.

I am no fan of the site it has it's issues as do most of these sites but compared to the others it's probably better with one exception if your looking to create porn content then there is a alternative site which is better.

My advise try the free account first but be realistic with your expectations remember there are lots of people there who are in the same position as you.

Undoubtedly the best model-photographer networking site in the UK - an essential resource for amateurs and professionals alike.

I've been a member for over a decade, and watched the site getting bigger and better.

A paid member for over ten years, thirty plus positive and no negative references from models i worked with.
then I was banned with no explanation ,after attempting to get a specific reason for this action I have given up as response from the site is pathetic and evades the question , I have just been made aware of a black list of photographers being posted on facebook by one of the sites moderators , karmafae_x , I am inclined to take legal advice about this situation !!

My purple-port experience is a long term relationship for last 5 years. It helps to built a great portfolio, if you are a model, a photographer or a stylist. Create like minded community and of course earn some dollar. I’m so happy I joined it by my friend recommendation and growing my career here as a model! Very good platform.

I've been on Purpleport for 3 years and I've never really met any real models. It's full of fake accounts trying to scam you. I had a session with a model called Teila, who is vip and the model came drunk and tired to the session... So she didn't do anything good and the session was a failure... So I put a negative reference and directly the moderation person came and removed my negative reference without giving a reason. They do this because she pays to be vip so you have vip models who only have positive references because the moderators protect them and remove all the negative references they may receive.. So you think you are photographing a super model when in In fact, she is a drug addict who comes to the session totally drunk. Modelmayhem and modelkartei are much more serious.. Didit .. Purpleport says that they only accept reference if the booking is with Pp but it s not true , they accept many positive references even if the booking is not with purpleport and if you are not vip , You can receive a negative reference even if the booking is not with pp ... In fact , they protect only vip ... Vip models have only good references and in fact they are just drug addicts who come totally drunk at the session and do the job badly because their negative references are removed by the moderator

They treat their customers and VIP members like crap. Instead of helping out a customer, they simply ban them. Do not waste your time on them, you will regret it.

If I could give this site a zero I would, a despotic site owner and the louder voices on the forums are unpleasant and arrogant. Everyone in the UK scene knows it is the gatekeeper to earning money as a model or studio owner so they cater to Purpleport rather then Purpleport catering to them. The father daughter duo of CEO and head of customer services is less an accident waiting to happen, more a nightmare playing out in real time. If you want exposure go here and keep your head down, if you want any other kind of enjoyment out of photography, I recommend any of the other sites. Not to mention ethically the team behind purple port do not deserve your money, I’m not going to dox the owner here, but if you know you know
