I spent $60 on 2 flashlights that turned out to be about 3 inches long and about half the brightness of what they advertised. A big ripoff as far as I'm concerned. I could have got twice the light for half the price elsewhere.

It is not what shown in Facebook and website. Very small and needs a battery. Does not burn paper etc. Do not recommend this.

completely different from what i was supposed to get. i have bought this same chinese light for under 5 bucks on ebay. complete rip off

I bought one of these lights off of a face book ad. A total scam. I ordered a 80000 candle power light that was full size and so powerful that it would start paper on fire. What I got was a miniscule light that might be 50 candle power and was so small that it would be useless to use to find my way in the dark.

"We are not responsible if information on this website is not accurate complete or current." Well, that pretty much says it, doesn't it?

Total scam. I also paid a lot of money for a top torch and got a miniature pocket light. Avoid this firm and this product!!!!

Misleading advertising, total scam. I had my doubts before I bought the torch with what they claimed. Paid around 55 bucks for this “80000 lumen” flashlight and got a $5 little light.

I’m not usually one for long reviews but because of my experience with the purchase of this torch I am compelled to write one and also warn other potential buyers what they can expect. If you don’t want to read my full review, and I totally get it if you don’t, the key points are as follows:

The advert for this torch is totally misleading and what is claims is untrue. Had this been in the UK jurisdiction I would have immediately complained to ASA/CAP and also Trading Standards

The advertised price is $29.95USD which, as you will find out once you have already paid over $29.95, is for the “basic” torch. The torch showcased in the advert is the “pro” torch which costs more. If you want the “pro” version you are going to have to stump up another $19.47

The “pro” version of the torch is bright but it is nowhere as bright as the advertisement would have you believe. There are many other torches on the market that are just as bright, if not brighter, that cost less money

No matter how long you shine the “pro” torch on a piece of newspaper or how close to the newspaper you get it will not ignite and catch fire

You cannot start a fire with this torch no matter how dry the paper/wood/foliage etc. is. I even tried using a bit of fuel to get things going and it still didn’t work.

Given this is a new company and product (I believe it started trading in September 2021) there are many positive reviews about this torch. It takes time to become established, gain market confidence and start receiving positive/glowing reviews. Paid promotion? Free torches for influencers? I know what my views are but I’ll leave you to make your own mind up on this one

This torch is nothing special and not good value for money. Ignore the advertising, ignore the hype and ignore the glowing reviews. Buyer beware

I consider PrimeNoire an unethical, immoral and dishonest company that uses misleading advertising techniques to dupe customers in to buying their products. I, for one, will never buy another product from PrimeNoire and I would never recommend this company to potential buyers.

On to the detailed review…………….

I saw this torch advertised on Facebook and needing a good light for camping this torch seemed to fit the bill. The advertisement led me to believe that with 80,000 lumens it is super bright, it is small and well-made and the fact that I could light fires, and my BBQ, with it made it even more appealing. I was a sucker for the advert and immediately went to the PrimeNoire website to buy one.

After I had completed the $29.95 payment, and it had all gone through, I was informed that the torch I had just bought was the “basic” version and I was offered the chance to upgrade to the pro version for an additional $19.47. A video comparison was provided between the Basic and Pro torches and it was at that point I realised the torch in the initial advert was the Pro version. I had based my buying decision on seeing what the Pro version could do and not the Basic version.

Looking at the comparison between the Pro and Basic torches (remember I had already paid by this point) it seemed the Basic torch was inferior and, in all honesty, a total waste of money. The problem I had was I had already purchased the inferior torch which did not suit my needs. Weighing up the time, cost and hassle of returning the Basic torch (I live in the UK and would have to return it overseas) and upgrading to the Pro torch I had no alternative but to make another payment of $19.47 to upgrade to the Pro version.

Having to spend more money left a bitter taste but there was no other option. I reckon this would be the case for many overseas buyers and I reckon the owner of PrimeNoire is aware of this and uses it to his advantage. Personally, I think this is not only bad business practice but also unethical and immoral.

The way PrimeNoire advertises the Navies torch is totally wrong. It is immoral, it is unethical, it is dishonest and it is fraudulent. If PrimeNoire were under the UK jurisdiction I would have immediately made an official complaint to ASA/CAP (the Advertising Standards Agency) and also trading standards as this sort of behaviour in misleading (lying?) to customers isn’t on and no company should get away with it.

The build quality of the torch is inferior and it feels cheap and nasty. You can pick up other torches that are of similar feel and build quality for a fraction of the cost of the Navies torch.

The advert claims this torch can be used to light/start a fire, and I can categorically confirm this is a total fallacy. No matter how hard I tried, how close I put the torch to the newspaper and no matter how long I shone the light on the paper I could not get it to catch fire. Yet more false and misleading advertising.

All in all the Navies torch is utter trash and I have been well and truly duped by a clever advertising campaign on Facebook

The NAVIES ULTRALAMP 80000 LUMENS for me is the brightest light I have ever bought. It is like a lightsaber. It is not a big flashlight, but boy, it can illuminate at night. It is like you have car lights turned on. I am recommending it to everyone just try this out and thnx me later.
