I'm really pleased with the product and the entire process. The delivery was seamless and packaging was excellent. Installation was simpler than I anticipated, and once operational, the chiller maintains the water at an optimal cool temperature throughout the day.

I was incredibly excited to finally pull the trigger on purchasing this unit. After researching various recovery systems, I felt like my wife had found the perfect setup for my garage and couldn’t wait to get it operational.



Initially, once the purchase was made (over the weekend), there seemed to be a lot of aggressive marketing, chasing emails and texts to see if we were ready to make a purchase. After explaining that we had made a purchase online and to check their records, I started to look forward to the unit's arrival.



Unfortunately, that excitement was short-lived once I had the misfortune of dealing with the customer service. The poor level of communication and the blatant lack of professionalism were staggering. Dealing with them was an exercise in frustration; between the complete disregard for me, lack of updates, unanswered phone lines, and a noticeable lack of integrity in the information provided, the trust was completely broken.



My issue was that the company was sitting on my order for almost a week without dispatching it, and there was no communication to offer an update on why. My actual reason for calling was to get an update and explain that waiting extended periods for the item to be dispatched was unacceptable. What I got was something entirely different.

To be fully transparent, after the phone was put down on me by the customer service operator, and after connecting the call again, I resorted to shouting at the customer service operative due to his rudeness, tone, and unprofessionalism.

As a company, I expected honesty and respect, but I didn’t get either, and against my better judgment, reciprocated those values back.

It is a shame to see a product with this much potential backed by such a letdown of a team.

I have officially cancelled my order and received a full refund. If you value your time and expect basic professional courtesy after spending significant money, I suggest looking at other brands that actually value their customers. To the owner of this company, I could only offer that Customer Services should be retrained in actual customer service and engaging with humans.

In hindsight, although I thought I had conducted the right level of research, the noticeable lack of reviews online from actual customers, ie YouTube reviews etc, only promotional clips should have had my alarm bells ringing. 



Fortunately, I have found a suitable alternative from a very reputable company, worth doing your research first, and saving yourself the unnecessary stress.

I had anticipated this reply. I have emails and texts from you that contradict your response. Happy to share with Trust Pilot and anyone requesting them.

With reference to a platform, as you had my first review taken down because it named your customer service operator, but happy to name him in positive reviews, Trust Pilot advised me to relist the review without the name. There seems to be a common theme with your reviews. I also challenge the lack of any neutral or negative reviews on your social media platforms, could that be because they’re taken down by request.

Been using the Primal Ice setup for a few weeks now and honestly didn’t expect to stick with it this consistently. The chiller gets to temp quicker than I thought, even on warmer days here in Australia, and it runs pretty quietly which is a big plus. I usually jump in after workouts and the recovery feels noticeably better. Everything arrived on time and setup was straightforward. Solid build quality and no issues so far—definitely happy with the investment.

I purchased the Primal Ice Premium Barrel with the XPro chiller after seeing many reviews praising the company’s customer service, build quality, and the ability to use the unit indoors or outdoors. Unfortunately, my experience was mixed, especially given the ~$5,000 price.
The barrel itself is mostly high quality and looks great, but the built-in step feels noticeably less sturdy than the rest of the unit.
Customer service is responsive, but the information provided was often not very helpful. Delivery also took about a month longer than expected. The chiller ships separately and had to be resent after the first one was lost in transit. This was after multiple conversations to confirm tracking numbers and ensure items had shipped.
The tub arrives in a large wooden crate that must be disassembled to remove the barrel, making it nearly impossible to keep the original packaging intact if a return is needed.
Full disclosure: the chiller casing sustained some minor self-inflicted cosmetic damage before installation. When I tried to return the unit within the 30-day satisfaction guarantee, I was told it could not be accepted because the tub was not in its original packaging and the chiller was not in original condition. Realistically, both are difficult to maintain once the product is delivered and handled. Given the cosmetic damage, I was not expecting a full refund on the chiller, but I did expect some type of reasonable compromise.
I ultimately decided not to keep the unit after my contractor advised against installing it indoors next to an infrared sauna due to concerns that the vinyl tubing and plastic valves could pose a future leak risk.
This review isn’t intended to disparage the company. The product may work well for outdoor setups, but buyers should be aware that indoor installation may not be ideal and the return policy and support may not align with expectations for a $5,000 purchase.

I ummd and errd about buying one of these for a while but once i came across this one at 20% off i pulled the trigger and its easily the best purchase ive made online, highly recommend, great customer service also.

I recently received my Primal Ice bath. Delivery was smooth and effortless and the quality of the product is excellent. Incredibly sturdy.
Sam was fantastic in helping me trouble shoot anything to do with the set up, which is very simple, and provided a really great service.
I highly recommend Primal Ice if you are considering buying a cold plunge.

Very grateful to have found this product, ive been doing cold exposure but this makes it much easier, ive done it everyday since my chiller arrived, the unit itself is high quality, very pleased.

Changing water every 3 days in warm months and buying bagged ice every day led me to taper off my use of the Pod. The chiller PRO has allowed me to get daily use of my pod and it stays consistently at the 5c setting I prefer. The compressor is loud so consider that if you choose to keep your pod indoors or in a living space. I would love to see more comprehensive written instructions or video tutorials on water change outs and other maintenance like cleaning the filter. Overall, I don't regret a thing about purchasing the chiller and would recommend it to anyone serious about plunging daily.

Use every morning when I first wake up to get my day started. Also use at least 3-4 hours after a hard workout or sauna session!!

The chiller is soooooo nice! It keeps the water at the perfect temp round the clock. The constant movement of the water through the system and the filter keep the water crystal clear with the addition

I recently bought the Primal Ice Bath and I must say I'm super impressed with the product and the overall experience.

First off, the tub itself is of excellent quality, well built, and has a sleek design. You can tell it was made with longevity and performance in mind, and the water cools down really fast. It has not only improved my plunge experience but has enhanced my entire routine. It is truly a professional-grade cold plunge, fit for the home.

There are many different choices available, and I looked at a few before making my purchase. What really sets primal apart is the customer service. From the start, Joe has been extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and dedicated to making sure that the person purchasing has the best possible experience. It is hard to find people that truly care about ensuring the best possible encounter in today’s society.

From the initial stages all the way to the final stages of the purchase, I must say this has been one of the most satisfying purchases I have made in a long time. With the quality of product and the phenomenal customer service, I would recommend the Primal ice to anyone.

I recently purchased the cold plunge from Primal Ice, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. The product is very sturdy and was surprisingly easy to install. It offers all the benefits of cold therapy at a fraction of the price compared to other brands. Primal Ice has made high quality cold plunging accessible without compromising on performance. If you're looking for an affordable and effective cold plunge, this is the one to get.

Unfortunately, I fell for one of the poor quality Ice pod knockoffs online. I then purchased this PrimalPod and can confirm it is 10x better quality and way better insulated (stays cold multiple days). Also just got the primal chiller and works like a charm!

Been using it for a couple months every morning. Take away my coffee. Take away my tea. Take away my breakfast. But, don’t take away my pod. It IS my morning routine. Love it.

Amazing peice of equipment. spoke to the sales team before buying and they talked me through the benefits of the higher powered motor. Has got a lot of use, espicially over summer.

I purchased the ice bath with the Performance Chiller after a lot of research. I live in an extremely hot and humid location in Tropical QLD and it cools it with ease. Customer service was great and all questions asked promptly. Would highly recommend.

Terrible chiller and overall system design. They will not post my review to their website, must be why they only have handful of reviews and nothing lower than 4 stars. They also delete comments on social media, it looks like they have blocked me after I tried to post my review several times and they don't allow the formal review of their business on facebook. I got premium chiller. Pump is not very good, it doesn’t have a stand alone electric heater for when it gets very cold outside temps. They use a heat pump, basically reversing the chilling function with a compressor, to heat water so basically useless at low temps especially near freezing and below freezing outside temps. To make it worse, the programing shuts the unit off at low temps so now you either have to drain it or modify it with another pump and electric heater. They told me to move inside and that is why chiller has wheels, though they advertise it as outdoor\indoor capable but obviously it’s only outdoor capable in places like San Diego, CA; ideal mild weather conditions. These are basic cold plunges functions that should be designed but bc primal doesn’t really know what they are doing they screwed it up. They advertise it having a heater but it doesn’t. I received an email from them explaining how the heater works, and it instructed I had to place in heat mode and set at 113F for it to turn on. This isn't even how it works. The chiller auto senses when to turn on based on the actual water temperature, at a temperature diff higher than set point chiller tuns on, at a temperature diff lower than set point, heat pump turns on. A heat pump is possible on all chillers, just like standard HVAC units for your home, its the reverse function of the AC. A functional heater on a cold plunge would be like the emergency heat on a hvac, a stand alone electric heater used at low temps to prevent the heat pump function of the hvac from breaking down prematurely in near freezing temps (in case of a cold plunge, it would be used at freezing temps to prevent the water in tub, plumbing, and chiller from freezing). Therefore they are misleading in advertising at best saying it has a heater, since their heat pump cannot operate at even colder air temps approaching freezing much less freezing and sub freezing air temps. Their return policy is garbage bc its only 30 days and if you buy in warm weather you won’t find out their design flaw until cold weather starts. Filter gets clogged fast & pump is weak so it becomes useless quickly. They instructed me to wash and it will last 4-6 weeks, however it gets clogged in less than a week, rinsing gets you a day before pressure is to low again to allow unit not to be cut off by programing. If the company had a clue they would have found this out in a testing process and could have fixed these issues however again they don’t know what they are doing. Next they don’t care either, once they have your money they are not going to give it back. They told me they are “forced” to go by their policy. A reputable company should recognize they have made a garbage product and fix it or reimburse you for their own incompetence. They may throw cheap filters at you but nothing meaningful. Shipping took forever, once chiller arrived it has a scratch and dent. The tub came quite a bit later separate from chiller, it was dirty with oily fingerprints on it. So dirty the filter clogged in just a day or two. It had extra parts and support didn’t know what they were used for. Do not make my mistake and fall for their BS on their website and vague answers to questions. It was like pulling fingernails to get them to send me a photo of the inside of the tub as well as provide other information, They are in for a quick buck and they have no clue what they are doing. Go with a reputable company that does research and testing and produces quality products. I thought about trying to salvage mine by getting a controller, separate pump for separate heater, and buy lots of amazon filters to make this thing work out. However, if they have no clue about basic proper design and function of a cold plunge, how safe could this thing possibly be. I am now worried about getting in this thing b/c it could be unsafe to use (does it have proper electrical bonding and grounding, will a short somewhere cause electric problems, will the seat break when I step in due to it not being very well installed/secured to tub base). If they cannot design basic features, I doubt they accounted for safety properly. See how much their cheap filters will cost you if you buy direct, that will demonstrate what they are really about (as of this review, $125 for 4 paper filters; amazon has them for ~$30). I wouldn’t be surprised this is just a fake shell company and once they get called out enough for their terrible product they change the brand and continue to rip people off.
