Item listed for sale was not available!
I'm so disgusted with my first and only experience with Portero that I don't even have the energy to provide the full details of what happened. But just as another reviewer noted, I too dealt with Portero showing an item on their site that was listed as available when it had actually already been sold!
I spent three days searching for a particular Vuitton carry-on bag, even calling Portero on the second day to get clarification on what was included since the description wasn't as thorough as the other identical bags on their site that were located in Japan. (The one I wanted of the 3-4 they had was the only one located in the US.)
On the day I decided to purchase the bag, I even received an email from Portero with the subject-line "Don't let this be the one that got away." In the body of the email was the bag that I'd been eyeing and had previously placed in my "cart" on their site. You can imagine my level of frustration when, not even 10 minutes after I purchased the bag and received email confirmation of the purchase, I received another email regretting to inform me that the bag I purchased had already been sold. Something about a glitch in their system causing it not to reflect as out of stock. So for three days, one live phone call where the girl (albeit with slight attitude) confirmed the bag was available and came with two zip around compartments, and a teaser email, this bag wasn't even their's to sell! Ugh!
It didn't help matters that when I emailed them to express my frustration and dissatisfaction, I heard absolutely nothing back. Nothing. To their credit, however, the charge to my credit card was immediately reversed.
This was a very unfavorable experience for me and I won't bother with Portero again simply because I have ZERO belief that they actually have the items shown on their website.

Free shipping is nice, but next time please advise me that a signature will be required
I ordered some jewelry as a gift for my wife. I had it shipped to the house. When Fedex tried to deliver, I was at work. And would be at work the next several days. And my wife was at work. And no one home to sign for the delivery. And Fedex told me their hands were tied - that I would have to contact the shipper (Portero) to make alternate arrangements. The customer service folks at Portero did a great job arranging to have the package shipped to a Fedex office near my work address, but it would have been far more convenient for everyone (me, Portero and Fedex) if Portero had said something during the ordering process about requiring a signature, and suggesting considering an alternate delivery address (e.g., my work address).

Disappointing
The pictures on the website are not what the jewelry looks like. Jewelry arrived very tarnished. I was very surprised by the condition of the ring. I will have to pay to have it cleaned. It looked much better in the picture.
The necklace I bought was so much smaller than the picture. My fault I should have measured it. However, it was in good condition.
However, the jewelry arrived promptly.
