After leaving my initial review, i was contacted by a manager from Pop Specs Meadowhall.
It seems that my experience was down to some confusion by the staff who were present on the evening i visited.
The manager was genuinely upset at the service we received, and assured us that it would be rectified.
On visiting the store again a couple of days ago, my wife was able to chose a pair of beautifully unique spectacles as a replacement, including the lenses, at no extra cost.
So, faith restored in Pop Specs, and a big thank you for contacting us and sorting out the issue.

So, my wife loves all things colourful and sparkly.
She saw some jewelled frames in pop specs at Meadowhall and loved them straight away.
They were not cheap specs, almost £400with the lenses.
Anyway, three months on from buying them, quite a lot of the gems had fallen out of one side of the frame.
I called customer services who were very helpful and said to bring them in, if they couldnt be fixed, then she would be offered new frames.
We took them into Meadowhall this morning, and to be fair, the quy there said he would try to replace the gems, however, the person who knew where these were, wasn't there.
To cut a long story short, he ended up canabalising another pair of glasses for some mismatching gems, which wasn't really ideal.
After eventually collecting the glasses, the team member said that if it happened again (as these frames aren't particularly sturdy) we could choose another set of frames at a discount.
On getting the glasses home, at least one more gem has fallen out of the frames!
These glasses are not worn every day, my wife wears them for going out and special occasions.
We're not at all happy with the quality we got for close on to £400, or the offer of a discount new pair when the seemingly inevitable happens, and some more gems fall out.
I'm pretty sure my consumer rights, if invoked would give a different outcome.
Not at all a good experience post purchase I'm afraid.

I’ve had 3 pairs however one pair that I’ve had for 6 months has broken , was told that they are only guaranteed for 3 months , not really acceptable when paid £140 and wanted to charge me another £60 to repair and was just a spring in the arm . Wouldn’t buy another pair from them now . Have emailed them and been ignored
Not Fit For Purpose
I purchased two pairs of glasses one year ago but within a couple of months a lens fell out of one of the pairs. I was about to take them back to the concession in Chelmsford but unfortunately I sat on them and bent the frame.
Ooops so that's one pair down but at least I had another pair.
However, within a few months one of the lenses also fell out of the second pair which meant another trip to have it refitted. Then a short while later one arm fell off this pair hence another trip to have it fixed before the other arm fell off a few months later.
Upon my next return to Pop Specs the assistant told me that they had been experiencing problems with this particular style and so she kindly offered me a replacement style of my choosing. However, within a few months of wearing this new style one of the arms fell off AGAIN.
Today, I have made another trip to Chelmsford to see if it can be fixed. However, I was told that all they could do was send it off for repair however, one of the 'springs' was missing which they wouldn't be able to replace which would obviously affect their overall performance. In addition, I was told that their guarantee is 'only 3 months(!)' from purchase which I wasn't actually told about on initial purchase a year ago.
Needless to say, I am not taking up the offer of a 'semi' repair and I will most definitely not be a returning customer of Pop Specs.
In my opinion, it's a great idea and the staff are nice but the frames are not worth the money at all. Take your money elsewhere - it will be better spent and save you a lot of time and hassle too.

Abbie in Norwich was friendly, approachable and made me feel at ease and not rushed, helped me find the perfect pair. They didn’t take 20 minutes as they were so busy and had some machine issues , They took about nearly 2 hours but am very grateful, this is still super super fast service, Would 100% recommend the glasses, customer service and speed.

Quickest service without hassle
I bought a great pair of glasses with sunglasses attachment from Pop Specs Bluewater. My glasses were ready in less than 20 mins. The staff gave an excellent service. Very attentive and friendly.
The products are brilliant and a great price.

I purchased two pairs of glasses today from the Pop Specs stall in Meadowhall, Sheffield. Yorkshire.
The young lady who served me, Akaisha, was refreshing and totally helpful. She was very quick and efficient in helping me find suitable glasses. One pair was going to cost me £95 but there was an offer on for two pairs - £155!!! No brainer as far as I was concerned.
We returned later to collect the glasses and Shami, the Manager, was there to fit my glasses. He was very pleasant and again efficient. Totally impressed to be walking away with two new pairs of glasses. Thank you. Julia Hubbard

New prescription lenses fitted to my existing frames. One pair while I waited, as they were just a standard fitment. The other pair, which were more bespoke, were sent away.
Having worn glasses for over 50 years, I was a little sceptical they would be ready in the couple of days promised. Having been used to waiting up to a fortnight with other suppliers. Two days later, I received a text from Sean saying my glasses were ready.
A very happy customer who will definitely be visiting again and recommending to others.

5 Star Service from Silverburn Pop specs
I’ve been wearing glasses for over 25 years and have dealt with plenty of different opticians and eyewear places in that time. The service I got from Aidan and Will at Pop Specs Silverburn was honestly exceptional and I won’t be going anywhere else from now on.
I came in pretty stressed after an incident with my glasses and they both went out of their way to sort everything as quickly and smoothly as possible. They were so kind and helpful and really went the extra mile to make sure I left happy.
I’m also really pleased with the glasses themselves and will definitely be recommending POP Specs to others. Their customer service absolutely deserves to be recognised.

Excellent Service was provided by Tom at the Silverburn, Glasgow Pop Specs.
My son needed new specs very quickly and from turning up at counter to collecting 2 pairs of specs, the whole thing was done in under an hour!
Tom was so patient and helpful and clearly very knowledgeable about the products regarding style, practicality, lenses etc.
He also called the optician that had carried out the eye test for the prescription, as we hadn’t taken a copy with us. So helpful and pleasant as if it wasn’t a problem.
The price point is remarkably low but the quality is great.
Another High Street Optician advised it would take 1 week - 10 days for delivery !!
Thank again Tom you did very good and you’re a lovely pleasant guy to do business with.
It’s people like this who are a company’s most valuable resource.

You get what you pay for and then they don’t care!
So my wife and I bought a pair of glasses each. She had upgraded and they cost £135. Mine were standard £75.
This was May 25. In August 25 my wife’s frame snapped and a lense fell out. We went to the shop we bought them from and they said….
We will contact you if we can find another frame the same and then….
They glued the frame!!!! 3 months old glasses!!!
We have since emailed Pop-Soecs twice with no response at all….
To tell a story, last week my Specsavers, 2 for £100 frames snapped. They were 13 months old. Went to local store and within 15 minutes I walked out with new frames… no hassle, no questions.
The moral of this story is… you pay for what you get… or do you!!! 2 for £100 is £50 a pair…. £25 less than pop-specs and with outstanding customer service.
My advice…. Go somewhere where after sales care is a thing and they look after you. Our experience of Pop-Specs is they simply don’t care!

Had a very limited amount of time to select some sunglasses. Brogan was really helpful and honest and I was able to make a decision very quickly with her help. Excellent service and the glasses were made speedily. Looking forward to going back when I have more time!

PLEASE READ THE UPDATE AFTER THIS. IT DOES END WELL!!
I bought a pair of frames from the Westfield Shepherds Bush stand and asked for transition lenses. Waited a few days because they have to be specially ordered. On collecting them the lenses felt ‘slightly off’ but I thought it was just because of the new frames. I kept taking them on and off during the day but something wasn’t right. I kept feeling like there was a lot of glare (on an anti glare product) and the lenses felt like they had fingerprints on them even though they were perfectly clear. After a few hours I contacted head office who said I should take them back to the store. I live two hours away and asked if I could take them back to Stratford Westfield instead. This request was refused, even though it’s the same company. After a two hour journey back I saw the manager who for an hour and a half gave me every excuse under the sun as to why he wouldn’t or couldn’t give me a refund. Admittedly he tested the lenses against my current ones and they were exactly same. He tried them on, his assistant tried them on and they couldn’t find what i was experiencing when wearing them. Of course they couldn’t it wasn’t their prescription!! He then pulls out the Terms and Conditions and shows me that the company refuse to to give refunds on prescription glassses. This was never shown to me at the point of sale or given to me on collection of the glasses. In the end I refused to leave the stand and threatened further action. I was ‘happyish’ with the frames even though one arm is noticeably looser than the other and couldn’t be tightened anymore. But I got multiple excuses and reasons why I wouldn’t be refunded. After an hour and a half I finally got back 60.00 for the cost of the transition lenses. Frames on their own cost 60.00 and 75.00 with their standard lenses. So I was still 15.00 out of pocket. I should never have been put in this position. The goods were not fit for sale as the end user. I wanted a refund because the lenses had a fault that only I could see when wearing them. This company will never see me again and I will make sure that I discourage as many people from buying any product from Pop Specs. If the Dragons Den investors or owners are reading this you should be thoroughly ashamed at your low levels of service when you have a customer with a genuine complaint.
UPDATE:
After reading this review both the manager and one of the co-owners contacted me. They have now changed the no refund policy and have compensated me satisfactorily. This is exactly how great customer service should be. I would now return to PopSpecs knowing that they actually do value their customers.
