I would love to give this experience a 5 star review, but the chaos that ensued, left me feeling like I survived a 5 star hurricane 🌀‼️
My first attempt was in December of 2025 with a T/BT/T score. My second attempt was March 2026 with T/BT/BT. Both of those scores that I failed my exam with, were passing scores for other people. The scoring process is confusing and obnoxious.
To add insult to injury, the PMI platform given for review DOES NOT include drag and drop, which is a staple within the exam. This is a gross oversight and needs to be addressed by PMI. It was difficult because it was costly to pay for the exam, the PMI membership, and 2 different platforms to make sure I was exposed to all the possible material on the exam. I know this certification is going to be essential to my career growth, but this was a traumatizing experience considering I have taken other board and certification exams.
I would highly recommend this certification, but the process to study and attain it, is very murky and needs to be filtered so everyone is treated fairly.

PMI PMP exam is a scam and ripping people off their money. My husband applied to write the PMP exam with PMI 3 times this year and this is what happened:

1. He was suppose to write 30 March, when they got the venue the invigilator that was booked did not pitch and they could not write the exam, they refused to refund him.
2. We paid again for him to write in July but due to the March and March strike in South Africa the exam was cancelled the day before they write.
3. He managed to apply for another date, went to write the exam today 06 July , while he was busy writing the system kicked him out. No noise, no movement just him and the laptop but it kicked him out.
We have spend more than R40 000 for this exam and now we must save another R40000 to be scammed.

The website was easy to navigate. Questions on study hall should be more easier to understand.

PMI provides valuable resources, practical frameworks, as well as step by step instructions from submitting the PMP exam application to preparing for the exam, and then to schedule the exam. It had made learning easier and its learning tools support stronger project delivery. All the study materials (PMI Study Hall Essentials) with mock exams, practice questions, flash cards, and learning plan was very helpful and detailed.

Overall my experience was good. For the test, although I was told several times that the test would be 50/50 regarding Predictive or Agile method, it felt like Agile was more prevalent. I personally do not use Agile in my line of work so I see that as an extra challenge. Also, most of the multiple-choice questions were able to be reduced down to 2 plausible answers, but in most cases I'd argue both were "equally likely" correct answers. I understand this test must be challenging to retain the value of the credential, but this adds a lot of anxiety to the test taker without adding much value.

In my opinion, the PMP test isn't administered fairly. I had to take it twice to pass. I have no idea how close I was to passing the first time. Did I fail by 2 questions or 20? PMI makes it impossible for anyone outside their organization to understand the requirements in order to pass.

Over all study material, exposure to PM tools, project management thinking and planning, most importantly self-regulation really made this whole journey vert pleasant and learning.

I appreciate the fact that PMI was simple enough for me to follow the process. Their communication was always responsive and helpful!

I had a great experience with the Project Management Institute (PMI) throughout my PMP certification journey. The certification process was well organized, and the exam scheduling and application process were straightforward.

The PMP exam itself was challenging but fair, focusing on real-world project management scenarios rather than rote memorization. The emphasis on predictive, agile, and hybrid approaches reflects the realities of today's project environments.

PMI's resources, especially Study Hall, helped me understand the PMI mindset and prepare effectively for the exam. The questions closely resembled the actual exam and were instrumental in building confidence.

Earning the PMP certification has strengthened my project management knowledge and enhanced my professional credibility. I would recommend PMI to any project manager looking to validate their skills and advance their career.

USDOJ Civil Rights complaints and VA OAG Discrimination complaints have been filed and are being pursued.

The number of resources is great, and my interactions with their support staff have always been wonderful.

Study Hall really helped my preparation 🙌

The resources and PMI Study Hall were what I found most helpful when preparing for the PMP exam

Application was relatively straightforward. Most of the website is pretty high-quality. There was a little confusion about the test materials. I ended up getting the one that expires in the beginning of July and wasn’t planning on taking my test before that deadline. But through the grace of God I was able to study for four weeks or so and pass the exam. It was not easy. But it is absolutely worth it and I’m proud of my accomplishments and what this certification represents. Honestly, I would recommend getting the study hall program as it really helped me grasp the concepts. The material you have to use to get your education credit is great. But the study hall, especially for the price is well worth the investment and you get to have it for three months. If I had the option to do it all over again exactly the way it happened, I would.

The online course, Study Hall materials, and practice exams were excellent preparation for the PMP exam. Several people recommended using an external tutor, but I relied solely on the resources provided by PMI and was able to pass on my first attempt.

My only criticism is that the PMI website can be difficult to navigate when looking for specific information. For example, I had trouble finding the FAQs and details about taking the exam from home, such as the number of questions, the allotted exam time, and break policies. Registering for the exam and testing my system was straightforward, but locating additional PMI guidance required a lot of clicking through different pages. The information was available, but it wasn't located in an intuitive or easily accessible place.

The information and options given to me to prep for the exam were great. It was hard but absolutely helpful.

The journey to earning my PMP certification was challenging. After failing the exam the first time, I lost the motivation to continue studying and even considered giving up on my goal. Two months later, I’m grateful I found the courage to try again and enroll in the mentorship program at the organization i work at. That experience gave me hands‑on opportunities to apply PMP practices in real scenarios. My mentor pushed me, held me accountable, and encouraged me to stay focused—ultimately helping me reach this milestone.

I purchased the PMI Study Hall and it helped me to better understand project management concepts and how to apply them. I loved the games, I was able to learn and have fun at the same time.
