Good experience

Preparation made all the difference. I rescheduled the exam when I realized I needed more time, and that extra helped to build confidence. My project management background also proved valuable, letting me connect real-world experience to many of the exam scenarios. PMI’s timely reminders throughout the application process kept me organized and on track.

Study hall was very helpful for preparation. The only things that were annoying was that I could never save a link to study hall. I always had to login then go to my account then launch study hall. Additionally when you schedule your exam, on the PMI website doesn’t include the time zone so it said my exam was at 1 pm when in reality it was at 8 am.

Ease of access to resources needed to move you along in the PMP certification process. PMI offers so much more certifications that can allow professionals to expand their experience and horizons. Well done!

The staff at the testing center were very pleasant and respectful. Everything was explained online for the process and it met expectations. I wish I could know % of right versus wrong, with explanations of how I could improve for each area. The results we receive are very ambiguous.

Earning my Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a significant milestone that will help advance my career. Preparing for the exam broadened my project management knowledge and strengthened my ability to apply best practices in my day-to-day work. The scenario-based questions closely mirrored real-world situations, helping me develop a more effective approach to analyzing challenges and making informed decisions. I especially enjoyed using PMI Study Hall, whose practice questions played a key role in helping me successfully earn my PMP certification.

Application process was seamless. Registration for the exam was easy.

Some of the questions have frustratingly similar answers and when you think bout the real world, the way the answers are posed, that would not be an issue that one is faced with. I do not think that the exam has to be that way. Having real life project management experience, I don’t think the exam hits the mark for me, although I passed on the first attempt. The reason for passing is that I had to understand how Pmp thinks but in real life, doubtful that the answers I put would apply.

It is a credential you can truly be proud to earn. It is not handed out—it must be earned through dedication, discipline, and countless hours of preparation. Success requires you to be both mentally and physically prepared for a grueling exam that tests not only your knowledge, but also your endurance, focus, and decision-making under pressure.

When it's over, you'll know you've earned it. That sense of accomplishment comes from overcoming a difficult challenge that many people are unwilling or unable to complete. Passing the exam is more than receiving a certification; it is proof of your commitment to the profession and your ability to perform at a high level. It's an achievement you can carry with pride throughout your career.

All the steps were well explained and easy to follow. Responses after the exam were in time.

Overall a very good experience. The website was not very intuitive to use, at least initially, particularly after I made a testing appointment and was unable to confirm it directly on the PMI site. This could use some improvement, but overall my application process went smoothly. Thank you!

I appreciate the professional benefit of a certified designation which has been very achievable in my young career.

I don’t appreciate how often the content changes, multiple pmbok guide editions with content laid out completely differently what, 4 times in 4 years?
Shuffling the deck chairs to sell a new copy of the textbook isn’t value added to the customer, which is a core PMI value.
It was also not clear to me how to go about studying for the PMP stream. The introduction to PMI course I took as prerequisite fulfilment of the CAPM left me completely unprepared for the agile portion of the CAPM exam.
Both to cover the agile content I didn’t know, and for general knowledge in studying, I watched a lot of YouTube video examples and used PMVision example questions.
The situation based questions would have been MUCH harder for me to answer without these resources, which feels weird to convey core exam preparation for a PMI exam, rather than my official PMI instruction.
I passed both CAPM (except Agile concepts) and PMP with flying colors, but was not confident when submitting my exam that I would do so. I don’t know if that is the design intention to preserve question integrity, but it felt disheartening in the moment.

Earning the Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification has been one of the most rewarding milestones of my professional career.

As an engineering and EPC executive with more than 25 years of experience in power, infrastructure, construction, commissioning, operations, and global supply chain management, I have managed complex, multi-million-dollar projects across different countries. Preparing for the PMP certification provided me with a structured framework that enhanced my existing experience with globally recognized project management best practices.

One of the most valuable resources during my preparation was PMI Study Hall. The realistic practice questions, full-length mock exams, and scenario-based learning closely reflected the actual PMP exam experience. Study Hall helped me develop the PMI mindset, improve my decision-making skills, identify knowledge gaps, and build the confidence needed to succeed. It was an excellent tool for measuring my readiness and refining my exam strategy.

The PMP journey strengthened my understanding of leadership, stakeholder engagement, risk management, Agile, Hybrid, and Predictive project delivery. More importantly, it reinforced the importance of a project manager's mindset in delivering successful outcomes.

I also appreciate PMI's commitment to maintaining a rigorous, globally respected certification standard. The examination was challenging, practical, and well designed to evaluate real-world project management competencies rather than simple memorization.

I am proud to be part of the PMI community and look forward to continuing my professional development through PMI's learning resources, PMI Study Hall, local chapter activities, and future certifications.

I gave 5 stars because the process was well defined and standardized. The experience was not great but I knew what to expect and I appreciate that. Silencing headphones were old and didn't stay on my head. The waiting room carpet was dirty. Most of the proctors were absolutely fabulous, kind, and straight-forward if not a bit gruff (but I get it). I don't feel the test really says much substantially about one's competency in the PM field and truly is a test-taking skill set that one must develop via practice.
