I really should have belived the bad reviews before wasting my time and money . They always blame the customer for their mistakes and refuse to solve any issues
I recieved an unrooted plant , basically just cuttings from branches that are potted... looked fine when delivered and in less than a week it was all dead that's when we discovered there were no roots
I emailed them explaining it and i recieved the rudest reply i ever got from a customer service ... calling me disrespectful and sharing false claims just because I said this was not professional and my experience was disappointing... definitely no intention for any accountability from their end so i will not waste my time replying. I'm just advising other customers not to repeat the same mistake and giving plantia your money, buy from a reputable source

I placed the order on October 2nd and it is now the 20th of October and although my tracking order says it is due tomorrow, why should it take 18 days to receive a plant. When I ordered it, I was informed that UPS would be delivering it. Once again, that was 18 days ago. I do realize that Canada Post has been on strike but there is no reason that UPS which is not affiliated with Canada post should take this long. I checked my tracking order yesterday and it said it would be here today. When I checked this morning, I see it is now being delivered tomorrow bringing the waiting time to a grand total of 19 days. This is not acceptable. I have since started reading non biased reviews about your company and they are awful. Shame on me for not researching your company ahead of time. Shame on you for shoddy business practices. I will continue to order my plants through a excellent and reliable company called Plantsome. They were professional right from the get-go. If I do not receive my plant by tomorrow, at the latest, I expect a full refund.

Your address is officially classified as a remote area by all major carriers. UPS and Purolator do not offer standard-rate delivery to your location, which is why Canada Post is the only available shipping option.
Canada Post resumed operations on October 15th following their strike, and your order was shipped on October 17th — the first possible shipping day. The parcel was delivered today, meaning the delivery took only one business day after dispatch, not 18 days as claimed.
Our shipping fees are completely transparent and based directly on carrier rates. Delivering live plants to remote areas involves logistical constraints beyond our control, and we always act promptly and within standard timeframes.
We are always ready to assist with accurate information, but false accusations or disrespectful messages will not be tolerated. Our team deserves the same professionalism and respect we extend to our customers.
Zero customer service
The packaging and plants delivered were high quality and it was delivered promptly. The issue is that I ordered 2 ceramic pots to go with the plants and they were not delivered. I have contacted them multiple times and zero response. I would not recommend!

Ordered a lemon tree. arrived late, and the tree was more like a vine, that was improperly pruned when it was growing. There is no hope of getting it to resemble any sort of tree. I may try cutting back to 2 inches and hope it doesn't die. The leaves were also wrinkled and yellow. Reached out to them and their answer was that there was no guarantee that it was going to be a tree. Such false advertising. $100 wasted. Don't make the same mistake I did. DO NOT BUY A PLANT ONLINE, esp. from planteia

I got sent a mostly dead Calathea White Fusion. I emailed the company right away. I was basically told the plant was fine. It was in horrible condition, planted way too deep up the petioles, every leaf had either cold or wind damage. The emails I received back were rude, accused me of causing the issue and that there was nothing wrong with the plant. When it was clear I wasn't getting through even with pictures, I was told I didn't know what I was doing, that people with PHds working there have been doing this for a long time. Which still didn't explain why this plant was in such poor shape when others I had received in the same shipment were ok. Zero accountability or offers to make things right. She just ghosted. I will not buy from there again and will tell others to avoid the site, especially seeing she only posts positive reviews on the website. Reddit has many stories of disgruntled customers and terrible service, threats of legal action. Over plants..

Terrible service. Took 3 weeks to get to me and I told them I was on vacation when they finally sent it for delivery. They said they would note that and deliver after but they didnt and the plant died in a mailbox locker instead. 290.00 down the drain with no response from them

I wish i would have read these reviews first. i ordered on 5 weeks ago and still have not received my order. When i have asked about the status of my order i get rude condescending responses. i spent 250$ on plants that i now have purchased at another store for 120$.

Would give 0 if I could. Horrible customer service. It has been weeks and still haven't received my order. I message them several times (each day was on the day that they told me it would get delivered, so I only message to ask why it wasn't delivered) and they give me a different date of delivery every single time, stating that it was already shipped, then saying they had an issue with shipping, and that it will be delivered thursday, now it will be delivered monday, no no, now is definitely tuesday. My latest message to them was "please don't lie to your customers, like you did last week when you told me it was shipped on thursday by Canada post, which clearly didn't happen ", and their reply was "choose your words more carefully when addressing people you don’t know personally and whose work you’re not familiar with.". Which I reply I didn't appreciate the threat, and since they have bad reviews I hoped that would try to improve, which they replied "We have no interest in unverified opinions published on unreliable websites. We stand by the genuine reviews from real customers who value the quality of our work. We did not request your suggestions on how we should operate.
At this point, we are ending communication" and they stopped replying.
So the gist is: so far no plant, but threatening and abusive customer service.
Moldy dead plants
Ordered a plant and it arrived COVERED in mold with all of its leaves fallen off in the packaging. I reached out to their customer service team with pictures and videos of the plant around a week ago and have not received any reply. Do not buy from them, go literally anywhere else to buy your plants

From the gorgeous photos on their website I ordered 2 plants totalling $170.. I received two leafless sticks - yes, they are alive, however, they are way less mature than stated in the photos. They also lost every single leaf in transit. After reaching out for some resolve the responses were generic with no accountability for their false advertising.

Place order in dec 2024, with the delivery option- Safe and cold proof delivery (4-5 business days). It’s April and still haven’t received any delivery.
Contact customer service and would like to ask for a refund. Since I can already get the plant in local nurseries with much lower price, and the waiting time is been too long to the point I no longer want the plants.
Customer service reply very rude and mostly just copy and paste the previous response instead of coming up with solution to accommodate clients. They reply” You definitely can't get them from your local nursery.
They are rare plants and we are the only greenhouse that grow them in Canada.“ I said Devan garden selling the plant for 5.99 and you’re seliing it for 62. They reply “You can try. And then compare the size and quality. We suppose, we answered all your questions.
We'll notify you once the package is shipped.” Then completely ignore my request.
Will not buy from them ever again, 4 plants costing me $400 is very unreasonable. I should have do more research before placing the order, but I was a newbie last December.
Terrible Experience – Avoid Planteia!!!
I ordered a plant as a gift in December 2024 and was assured it wouldn’t be shipped until the weather was favorable (above +5°C). Despite this, the plant was sent on January 31st—during freezing temperatures—and arrived severely damaged due to shipping delays.
When I reached out to Planteia, I was met with deflection instead of accountability. They falsely claimed that I pressured them to ship, even though I explicitly said I was fine waiting until spring. After multiple frustrating email exchanges, their “solution” was to wait until March 2nd to see if the plant would regrow and offer a mere $35 plus shipping for a replacement.
The lack of responsibility, poor customer service, and unwillingness to rectify their mistake make this company one I cannot recommend. Save yourself the trouble and buy from a more reliable seller.
I wish I could attach all email exchanges here; you would be shocked how they responded. I even have screenshots of support chat. Such a nightmare!

The physical address for this store… there is no store. Just a condo, a pizza place and a tea house. A search of businesses in Toronto with this name returned no such business. Do your research before buying on line or sharing personal and/or financial information!

Online Order
Ordered two plants from them online, they were packaged and shipped the next day. They took a week to arrive, but I live far away from the shop so that was expected. The plants were packaged very carefully and securely, they were both in perfect condition when I received them. They are both thriving as of 2 months later. :)

Terrible experience, never received the plants and I was gaslighted by their customer service that the whole this was my fault, save your money and your sanity and just go to a local plant store

First off, let’s start with the pros. The plant I received was very healthy, it was wrapped up nicely and shipped in a fairly reasonable time frame.
EDIT: Never mind about the healthy. Thought there was shipping damage but looked closer and found trips poop/damage. Cut off affected leaves but will have to wait and see if it continues..
Now for the con.
Purchased a Philodendron Verrucosum because I wanted a BACKUP of a plant I already have. I’ve done research on this plant extensively as I have an interest in botany and received a different plant. Thinking I might have been mistaken I took to the internet and asked others what they believed the plant to be (who have no personal interest in this) and they also believed this to be the wrong plant (Philodendron El Choco Red).
I explained my stance politely and why I believed this to be the wrong plant (thick, non ruffled leaves, crawling plant, no fuzzy petioles) and that I’ve checked with others including another plant seller, and compared with mine which was sold to me by a reputable seller (a nursery).
I was told there was basically no way they were wrong as their documents say Verrucosum and they’ve been “selling Verrucosums for over 15 years” (these plants were extremely hard to get a hold of until recent years) and they’ve never had an issue. Which could be the case but it only takes ONE shipment of the wrong plant to sellers (ie as the plant community has seen with Philodendron White Princesses). As well as the fact I have this plant already from another reputable company (that fits the descriptions of an Verrucosum to an T) and they look nothing alike, I was called disrespectful for even mentioning another company (no names were given).
They told me to find an independent (ie. not myself, not another seller, because WE basically can’t be trusted.) analysis. For me to pay and get it analyzed for a $50 plant. Which is very unreasonable for a business. I’ve sent pictures of what I was sent and as a plant seller, I would have expected them to know that what I was sold was not what I ordered. Even the description of the plant I’ve given doesn’t match up with the botanical description of a Verrucosum.
They offered for me to pay out of pocket to send the plant back (Canadian postage is extremely high and sending it back would be at least $25, more of tracked) and 25% restocking fee. (On a $50 plant, not worth sending back) They will not act on their “happiness guarantee” as they were not understanding and there wasn’t even a “sorry this wasn’t the plant you expected” just denied being wrong.
Unfortunately, trustpilot doesn’t have a picture option or I would post to show what I did receive (which were also sent to seller) and what an actual verrucosum looks like (taken from government websites. As well as my own, and multiple other sources.)
As constructive feedback for the company overall. Please offer signed shipping for your potential future customers. I was at home luckily at the time and the mail person did not leave at door but the lock box on a hot day. If I had not been home, the plant would have been cooked. Perhaps offering more than one shipping option with no information on what it actually is would be helpful.

Has the potential for being a great company, but very misleading with “healthy plant guarantee”. I received a plant with a broken leaf and severe discolouration and reached out only to be told it must have been my fault.
Even after receiving photo proof I was brushed off and told to figure it out.
I spent the extra money to support a small business, but next time I’ll purchase my plants from a big box store.

The plant was kept in a quarantine room with a full spectrum grow light. A perfectly suitable set up for a plant with a suspected fungus.
The store initially claimed I waited 4 days to contact them with my concern, then 2 weeks, and now in this thread claims I waited 10 days.
After requesting a chargeback through my bank, Planteia sent me an unprompted email which included quotes such as:
“It's clear you lack the basic intelligence to care for a plant that even a child could manage. On top of that, you're attempting a scam by requesting a chargeback”
“Your scam attempt will be documented and visible in all relevant databases, causing you long-term problems for your scam family.”
“We will ensure you cannot receive a chargeback, as you received a perfect plant and then provided it with incredibly stupid care.”
“All the worst to you and your scammy family.“
It is unfortunate that a business has chosen to behave in such a derogatory and senseless manner when a customer has a genuine concern about a product that was paid for. I genuinely hope that future interactions with customers regarding concerns or negative feedback are conducted in a more productive and professional manner.

Never buy from this lady. She’s a scammer there are loads of negative complaints about her treatment of customers online and she also scammed me for money as well. Sad that she’s that desperate and short sighted with customers. She burns people with bad over priced plants and then doesn’t return your money. I was never even shipped and she took my money. Requested a refund 3 times and had to call my bank to finally reverse the charges. No one wants to be treated that way. Worst plant seller ever.
