Worst bank un the uk for current accounts. I attempted to open a current account on 2 occasions. Both times after sending my proof of ID to there nominated company. I waited over a week with no confirmation of them receiving it and no confirmation of an account being opened or denied. After that I contacted them and told them to stick the application up there ass. And opened an account with Nationwide which was up and running in less than 36 hours.
They do nothing about companies…
They do nothing about companies stealing from your accounts. Send you in constant loops transferring you from one person to another. Useless totally useless. Avoid for your children, making children go overdrawn! You are as bad as the scammer.
The best bank ever in my opinion
I've been with this bank for a number of years and I have found the staff really friendly and helpful.
I love how the bank looks now as it's easier to find the area I need to go to.
There are plenty of cash machines inside as well as the one outside.

surely when you tap on an account the software should open that account not present you with all the accounts you have. have nat west never heard of software written ages ago. frustratingly useless. going to cancel them as they dont have any regard for their customers.

The Nat West app is absolutely AWFUL
The Nat West app is absolutely AWFUL. For payments out it asks to send a security number via text ; by the time one has withdrawn from the App, read the text, and then get back the payment is cancelled. I tried to complain this morning without success. Last time I used it THE BANK Charged me £1.80 for a failed payment. Not my fault;,rather the fault of the bank. Please SACK whoever designed this system and restore us back to be able to buy online.

Payment was declined,then I was happy,went into account,it asked me did I try to make a payment to so and so,yes,next thing payment is pending,if declined you are suppose to redo payment ,I didn't,yet pending on account a joke,and cut me off 3 times

I had to give a star but no choice on this website to give no star. I have been with Natwest for 20 years I make a complaint and the agent didn't let me finish why I was angry. It was embarrassing making a payment and my account had more than enough and the declined trasactions the complaint handler couldn't handle ordering coffee at starbucks. 20+ years I've banked there and never been so angry and also staff that understand what I'm saying with terrible English. I was humility infront of my friends because it declined on my accoint and i have 4 x the amount of the transaction I needed and then tried to use my card to pay a bill and again was declined and my blance was over 1k in the bank. He hung up on me because he couldn't be arsed to listen to me venting my embracement. A complants agent should be able to listen to customer anger and customer are always right. And this iddiot slammed the phone down on meand I sidnt once use offencive language. I will not call back and after 20 + years will go somewhere else unless a complaints manager contact me to apologise and listen. That idiot just talk over me constantly. He is better of filing and not taling calls.

unable to get biometric approval to work. Shopped at usual supermarket but using online delivery service, unable to pay so had to use Halifax account. Complained to NatWest gave all the evidence but bank said it was supermarkets fault. Absolute rubbish

They couldn't have been more efficient, kind and professional.
They helped me with my online banking account.
I am confident giving 5 star for my visit.

The most frustrating app I have encountered you could not have NatWest as your only payment method. The biometrics setup is useless !!!
Switching banks because of biometrics
I'll be closing my accounts with Natwest shortly and switching to a different bank.
Making the use of facial biometrics mandatory was a ridiculous decision. Not only does it clearly not work for most people, causing massive issues and headaches as demonstrated by the multitude of other negative reviews, but to mandate it in the first place is absurdly invasive. There was nothing wrong with fingerprint biometrics - it was secure and it worked. I am able to view things like my card details via fingerprint-only biometrics with my other bank, which is more than secure enough.
Sort this ridiculousness out Natwest.

Biometrics is absolutely atrocious. Didnt recognise me so many times it locked me out of account!!!! Checked the mirror twice and I m still me!!! When I googled how to remove biometrics Natwest site said to log on to the App to do that.....I can't because ime not recognised ....Good grief , complete cockwombles!!

Biometrics made me quit
Biometrics does not work and Nat West are dead to their customers. I changed to Halifax whose app works fine without this nonsense with excellent customer service to boot. I also use Starling for day to day shopping. Best thing everyone can do when Nat West can’t be bothered to deal with customers or change their app (not being able to read one’s own debit card without face recognition? No - Just No) is to leave.
Biometrics making me want to scream
I’ve been happily using the NatWest app for years and then it asked me to set up biometrics, I did but tbh didn’t see the point as was already using Apple Face ID just fine. Now it never recognises my face and it’s infuriating as it’s literally my face what do you expect me to do?! So i keep getting the app locked, went to actual online banking to remove biometrics and it asked to confirm mobile number, then said my number was updated, I’ve had the same number for 16 years! Now the app says I can’t set it up because my number has changed and I have to wait 3 working days. The inconvenience is unbelievable! Just had to dig out the card reader to bank transfer the exceptional sum of £30 to my mother in law. I’m furious!
