My clan landed on this website without my own consent. When i went to it, there was no option to remove my clan unless i registered. So not only did they list my clan as if i had submitted it, they also wanted my personal data just to get it removed. When approaching the owner about it, they act like they have no idea whats going on. I would not recommend this site to anyone, shady practices are happening there. My experience here was 0/10 If i could rate any lower, i would.

We’ve apparently hit a zero on explaining this one. An unclaimed entry doesn’t mean you submitted it.. registering lets you manage the listing, while delisting leaves the clan name in the index. That distinction shouldn’t need a quest guide 🫶

If you take 2 seconds to think of the timeline, it was before any better website were created and right when you decided to force everyone on your website with no say in it and with advertising RWT. This was all done freely by leaders. But you can keep playing victim and getting a taste of your medicine. The fake ‘good reports’ you asked for in your server won’t change a thing.

Absolute AI slop

Absolute AI slop. Just as much of a joke as the owner himself.

I strongly recommend that no clan/member links their Discord or
Clan to this website. After listing our clan, we experienced a significant increase in bot and scam accounts joining our Discord server and messaging both our members and me personally. The timing is extremely concerning, and I would urge other clan leaders to exercise caution.

The website appears to be poorly built AI-generated code, and I have serious concerns about the security of any accounts or information you choose to connect to it. I would not trust it. On top of that, the website is plastered with real-world trading, paid services and gambling advertisements. Is that really the kind of content you want associated with your clan? As a clan leader, I certainly wouldn’t want my community represented alongside advertising that promotes rule-breaking activities.

The owner’s approach gives me little confidence that this platform was ever intended to genuinely support the osrs clan community. It comes across as a money grab rather than a project built to help clans and members. I see little evidence of a genuine interest in working with clan leaders or building something that benefits the community. Think carefully before supporting this website or linking anything to it. Your Discord server, your members and your community’s reputation are worth far more than a listing on a website like this.

Extremely unserious, uncooperative and low quality

Owner uses a cheap vibecoded site in violation of multiple laws and regulations related to telecommunications and data privacy, behaves like shit towards people who want their clan listings to be taken down and refuses to do so when requested. Violated Reddit ToS multiple times.

Also requires you to register on Discord to join their server in order to REQUEST for your info to be taken down. The owner previously put one user's content to the top of the page when they requested it to be removed, out of pettiness.

Extremely unprofessional, and the owner behaves childish when people want their content removed from this site.

Request for removal denied

In alignment with loads of other reviews, the owner has decided to publicly associate clans with illegal activity (per Jagex' rules) and does not respect a simple request for a clan to be fully de-listed. The ethics of this website and its owner are extremely questionnable and I would recommend not engaging with this site.

I haven’t paid anyone to spam competitors’ links in game. I welcome other sites helping players find clans. Connecting players with communities is why I built OSRS Clan Finder, and more people working towards that is a good thing.

Advertising helps cover running costs and keeps clan discovery and listings free. I understand some people disagree with the advertisers, and I’m happy to discuss specific concerns.

Our directory includes clearly labelled unclaimed entries based on public clan information. These can remain in the index after delisting, and inaccurate information can be reported for review.

The site has helped players find new clans and communities, and that remains my focus. If you have evidence connecting me to the spam you describe, please share it so I can address it directly.

Like YouTube, Google and many other websites, OSRS Clan Finder uses advertising to fund a free service. Those ads help cover running costs and keep clan discovery and listings free for players and clans.

The gold-selling links are third-party adverts. You can use the site without clicking them or buying anything from an advertiser. As the site grows and more advertising opportunities become available, I intend to bring in a wider range of advertisers.

Site supporters also get an ad-free browsing experience and can make their clan’s listing ad-free for everyone who visits it. The more people support the site, the less we need to rely on advertising.

From great idea, to shameless money grab.

What can we say that's positive...?

Okay, now that's done!
The owner is publicly advertising servers that provide "illegal" services for the game that they are advertising for... makes sense.

Clans reaching out to be taken off of this site as to not be associated with this black market are being ignored and immediately banned to make it look as if his website is popular.

Currently spamming numerous clans with bots as a smear campaign on his competition, attempting to raid his competitions discord server and complaining about how hard done by he is in his own discord.

When people ask (nicely and professionally) about why he chose black market endorsements, Alex seems to play the pity party on himself and how much he's trying to do for the community, to then belittle the legitimate questions saying he'll stop "When Gymshark sponsor me".

Playing the hero with one hand and the villain behind his own back, frankly, should not be the ambassador for a global clan chat server.

What started off as promising has not gone downhill, it has falling off of a cliff.

It is clear to see this for the money grab it really is, constantly asking for Patreon subscribers to "avoid the Ads"... Which will not remove the Ads from any potential new members to individuals clans and still have all clans affiliated with this rubbish.

Do not engage with this website, this individual whatsoever.

Antwort von Osrsclanfinder

Finding a clan and listing a clan are free. Support is optional, and advertising helps cover the costs of running the site. I understand the objections to some advertisers and intend to broaden the range as more opportunities become available.

To clarify the current setup: supporters can make their clan’s listing ad-free for every visitor, including potential recruits. They also receive ad free browsing. The benefit is not limited to the person supporting the site.

Unclaimed listings are clearly labelled directory entries based on public clan information. Delisting a managed listing returns it to an unclaimed entry; it does not remove it from the index. I recognise that some clan owners disagree with that policy.

Questions about advertising and listings deserve a respectful response. I’m happy to review specific concerns about conversations or moderation with the relevant messages and clan details.

I welcome other websites helping players find clans. If you have evidence linking me to bot spam or attempts to raid another community, please share the relevant messages or screenshots privately so I can address those claims directly.

Website owner is a horrible person

What started as a promising resource for OSRS clans has gone in a very concerning direction. Clans are listed without consent or a meaningful way to opt out, and the site has now begun advertising services that appear to be illegal. That is not something I want my clan associated with, and I cannot recommend the website.

In my experience

In my experience, this site used assets without permission and refused to take them down after being notified. I tried to resolve the issue directly before leaving this review, but the material remained up and the response was not acceptable. A business that ignores a legitimate takedown request and does not address concerns transparently is not one I can recommend. Based on how this was handled, I would advise others to be cautious.

We index clan names only, to help players find and discuss clans. A name on its own generally isn’t protected by copyright.

Clan images and other assets on claimed listings are uploaded by the users who claim them, for free, to represent their clans. We don’t scrape that artwork from other websites.

The index also gives players a place to share experiences, raise concerns and warn others about harmful behaviour or bad actors. That feedback won’t always be flattering.

I won’t rag on your site just because I don’t agree with it.. 😉

Alex was muted on Discord because he mass spammed every clan owner to the point it seemed like a bot advertising his website. Many of us joined because it did seem like a genuinely good website for osrs clans to advertise and recruit new members via a different method. The first issue was allowing a “mega clan” to join and use their 5000 members so votes would go their way and they get the top advertising spot. Next Alex introduced paying sums of money to temporarily boost your clan to the top of the listings. Lastly, after ignoring many of the clan owners feedback you decided to change the entire concept of your website: rather than clan staff posting their clans manually you mass imported over 300 clans to your website without their knowledge that your website exists and their info is being advertised.

Also Alex on the official osrs clan finder discord he along with members of the mega clan cult they shut down feedback from other clan owners by first cursing them out and posting memes to degrade them. He then started banning the clan owners who offered any negative feedback.

Spotlight and listing rules were openly debated and put to community votes. Not getting your preferred outcome doesn’t mean your feedback was ignored.

Top placement recognises community engagement through Spotlight, monthly competitions and hosting free events open to clans and players.

The index currently lists clan names only. Images and other assets on claimed listings are uploaded by the users who claim them.

The users removed from Discord had already delisted their clans. By that point, the discussions had become circular and focused on securing their preferred outcome. Their views were heard, but the site also has to serve the people looking for a clan.. that’s its core purpose 😅

Money and power grab with no consent or option to opt out.

This started out as, i think, a good idea but has went downhill extremely fast due to the owner's character and the true intent behind it all. The website started as an opt in website (which he said himself); which is how it should always and STILL be but has ever since become a power and money grab, let me explain. A voting system and payment system have been in place on the website. You pay and vote to be listed in the top position (which most leaders voted against, vote that was rigged by the 4000 + mega clan listed on the website who bribed their clan mates with bonds/gp to vote for them and vote in favor). Alex was well aware and has done absolutely nothing to stop it or make the vote fair, giving clan members already in a clan (the mage one) a voice in what should happen. This gives absolutely no chance to smaller scales or newer clans to get noticed which is *supposed* to be the whole point of this website. A few days ago, the owner; Alex, talked about a hypothetical data grab from all over internet to list every single clan who exist on his website because, quote: ''This is going to be the number 1 clan website in the next 3 months'' (you see again the need for power for whatever reason). You guessed it, it was never hypothetical, he had already planned doing it despite, once again, many votes against it. It grabs data/info from Wise Old Man, Discord, TempleOSRS, Facebook, Reddit and more (again, all of this was admitted by him). The problem here is, people decide, on their own will and consent to post/use or not these websites. Many leaders gave no consent and have expressed publicly on his discord server and privately in a ticket (like we were told to do if we wanted no association) that they wanted to be completely removed from his project, website and anything to do with him/his project to which we were ignored and given no choice; per his saying again: "No sorry, the clan will remain in the unclaimed directory and will keep using any available information." Now, if you have some human decency and self respect, you would understand that some people do not wish to use or be associated with your website for various reasons. Some people don't advertise for their clans at all and don't wish to for various reasons as well. Deciding, from your own will to use certain website/tools does not give other people permission to list your clan on websites they want nothing to do with for ethical and personal reasons. There's no opt in/out anymore, which is what many leaders are very unhappy about (to stay polite). May i add that Alex has never been owner/leader of a clan, mater of fact, Alex is not in a clan and want's nothing to do with clans (per his own words again), so how can we trust someone that has/wants nothing to do with it to understand and respect our needs? The answer is simple; you can't. Now as to answer the questions asked when you go to type in a review: What went wrong this time? Everything. He does not listen to people whatsoever. How can it be improved? Respect people who want no association whatsoever to the website even if it is in the unclaimed section we asked to not be on. Stop mass dming leaders and joining their servers to advertise your website with a poor pitch sale to try and force people to use it. You should've let your project grow naturally out of good feedback/character/word of mouth.
