Stole money from my dad

GREEDY BUSINESS

GREEDY BUSINESS, steer away from them! In 12 months they increased the price of my storage unit TWICE, skyrocketing from $122 to an outrageous $181. That’s a 48% price increase in just one year!

It's an insult to loyal customers who trusted them to provide stable and fair pricing. Once you’re happy and settled, they will start the arbitrary price hikes, it’s clear that they value profit over the loyalty of their clients.

Save your energy and find for a company that prioritises transparency and fair pricing, as National Storage certainly does not.

Price Gouge their customers

Price Gouge their customers. After 6 months they reviewed the pricing and increased by 22%. Basically said bad luck, if i sign as a new customer i can geta storage unit a lot cheaper. They do not look after regular customers and don't expect clients to move away. STAY AWAY

Purchased a unit and insurance

Purchased a unit and insurance, received contract and had paid one month in advance, couldn't enter premises or unit on agreed move in day, unit appeared to be already in use by someone else. No staff around that day and no phone help available. They never answered the phone following this so I emailed them, again with no response. After 2 months of charging me for a unit and insurance I was unable to use they appear to have cancelled my contract - I can only assume, as I never heard from them at all, payments just stopped coming our of my bank account.

Never received a refund as requested either.

National Storeage Phillip staff are so very helpful and user friendly. Nothing is too much of an effort and they go the extra mile.

I had a parcel dropped to the Philip National Storage and Si was ABSOLUTELY wonderful. Super helpful and understanding when I called with some questions.

Appalling customer service

Avoid National Storage NZ Henderson. Increased storage fees without any notification, overcharged me for 6 months. I took 6 months to sort it out and get refund due to their appalling customer service; ignoring emails, months-long delays responding to customers, snarky responses, like "check your spam folder for our email". I got my refund in March 2023 and by July 2023 they are running the same scam again. Beware they charging more than stated on website.

Price gouging

Most horrible, ethically bankrupt organisation. Price gouging standard business practice. If you are a long term customer expect to pay more the their advertised rates to attract new customers. The difference is over $100 a month. Give this company a wide berth

National storage cannot be trusted! It’s week 5 of my waiting for a refund.

Do not trust this company with your money. I paid 6months in advance upfront for 2 storage units. I ended my tenancy with them earlier and the centre (Taita, NZ) signed off on 15 June 2023 and emailed me the Request for Refund forms which I completed the following day 16 June. Today is 20 July and I am still waiting for my refund. I patiently gave them 3 weeks before I started raising questions as to why it’s taking so long only to be ignored and/or lied to. After I sent them a screenshot of the Refunds policy in their terms and conditions the Refund team sent me an email claiming my refund has been approved after an entire month and requesting my bank account details on 17 July which I did and returned via email. Seriously how long does it take to input my bank details into their system and transfer payment to my account? Something very dodgy going on here. I will never use them again and will steer everyone I know requiring storage service well away from them. I’m not holding my breath for the refund. If it doesn’t get paid to me by next week Friday I’ll take legal action.

This company is a scam

This company is a scam, lets start with the website you make a booking showing available spaces at discount prices 50% off first months and keeps sending you back to the start , I made calls to the company to discuss this they assured me the space was there and that there was no problem, I requested a space at 50% discount as stated on the website price and made the booking, this was yesterday less than 24 hours later I noticed the booking form says the move date is the 21st, we booked for the 16th I am not in Perth on that date, I called the company to change the dates and they will only cancel the booking and keep the admin fee $24, now I have no where to put my stuff they offer to rebook it at only 25% off today, I asked to speak to the canning vale office and they said they were busy and had customers to deal with, I asked to speak to the management and they told me they are too busy and will give me the same answer on top of that they tell me it can take up to 2 weeks to refund my booking
now I have to book somewhere else out of my suburb at a loss until my money is returned and further away from my area

this company are scammers and I recommend not to use them or be very careful of the website and company if you can avoid them I highly recommend you do

Money was stolen from my credit card

Money was stolen from my credit card, even though I was no longer a customer. They illegally kept my credit card details on file against my knowledge, instead of deleting former customer personal details as required by law. Please don't give National Storage your credit card details as they don't keep it secure and an employee stole funds from my card. National Storage apologised and said they'd make it a 'priority' to return the stolen funds, but after three weeks, I realised I'd been dubbed as they did nothing about it and didn't even investigate. I had to report the fraud to the issuing bank and authorities. It caused considerable stress as my credit card had to be destroyed and reissued to prevent further fraud. I just wish I'd reported it to the authorities immediately instead of trusting National Storage when they said they'd return the stolen funds immediately and then never did. Every week it was just more lies and false promises that the stolen funds would be returned.

Would never recommend this company

Would never recommend this company, bad experience. I had only hired the storage unit, which was not used and I had asked whether there was any chance of getting any sort of refund. We had been notified my landlord was selling the house myself and my 2 children had lived in for the passed 5 years, I was having no luck finding a new house for us. Therefore we would need to move into emergency accommodation, the day before we were due to move I got notified that I had been accepted for a house which was amazing. I contacted national storage to advise whether I could please cancel my unit, and whether there was any chance of getting even a small refund. I paid $302 for this unit I need to add the unit was never used. I had rented the unit from the 04/04 until the 18/04. I emailed and let them know what had happened, long story short. National storage is money hungry, the have no feelings for what the customer may have went through. They just give you the stupidest excuse that because its less than a month they will not be offering a refund.

Watch for hidden and additional costs

The "discounted first month" is offset by the one-off administration fee. Experience during the storage agreement was very straightforward and the facility was clean and secure.
Termination of the agreement was a below expectation experience where the customer services representative advised me to pay for another month in order to see the "termination" option online, only to find this didn't work and no refund was given despite the storage unit being vacant for a month with 9 days notice of the termination (agreement states 7 days notice must be given)

Charged $190 for 2 days extra!

I have had storage with national storage Hendra and I'm a fifo worker and have a unit and a car space rented for over 6mths. They are charging me $190 for 2 days as my payment is charged on the 3rd and I can only get my car out on 5th of may but they are charging me a whole month! Not impressed at all as I've been with them for all my storage and 2nd time using them.Will never go with this company again.

2/3 staff I have spoke to are extremely rude and no customer service skills. I was given a false email address to send complaints to. Absolute thieves. I have a video of my experience posted on TikTok to expose these scammers.

paid extra for after hours access, and no access

I hired the storage with the "box ticked 24/7 " then I got the conformation, it is not?
anyhow, after I complaint about it, I received a phone call on the next day, that a 24/7 access is possible for another 30.- $ fee, Ok I've agreed for the additional amount, and the amount was taken from my Credit card, and just 30 min. before I 've tried to access the Storage gate and my access was denied???
I am really angry about that sort of "rib-off"

Sharky unethical behaviour

This company took over an existing storage company (who I had always had a great experience with before): they suddenly billed an increased fee with no warning or notification or change to existing contract, and were not open to discussion on this random fee increase despite repeated emails back and forth and the odd promise to follow up with billing department. Plus, exorbitant late fees charged at a rate of every two weeks if payment is late. I will be getting out as soon as I can.
