The concept is great however the notifications are delayed constantly. When you click on a "motion detected" notifications it won't show you the video straight away it says "video is processing". When I reached out to the Nanit support team they said it takes 3-5 minutes to be able to vide the video. Really unsafe and not worth the money

Similar to what others are saying this camera is an absolute rip off and easily my biggest regret when it comes to baby purchases. The camera works okay and the notifications of movement and sound are good but the whole breathing monitoring we’ve never used (obviously personal choice but after having our first baby we’ve since realised this sort of thing is basically just a gimmick that you really don’t need, plus I’m not sure how you’d wrap the belt around them well enough when they’re wearing a sleeping bag etc but hey ho)… however the biggest issues I have is the fact that you basically can’t use any features unless you spend a minimum of £100 a year, you can’t even look back at your footage to check how they slept over night or something. Maybe £20/30 you’d accept but £100? Or even £260 - yes £260 - if you want all the features. That’s on top of the £450 or so we paid for the unit. Plus the unit won’t work without an internet conenction, so even if you have a local WiFi network you still can’t view footage so if you have an internet outage you’re without a baby monitor! It’s so extortionately priced - (the unit and the on-going charges) I’m actually a little angry! Avoid at all costs, go for a cheaper unit that focuses on being a good baby monitor rather than ripping off parents like Nanit does.

They just keep hiding more and more features behind a fire wall you have to pay £100+ a year to remove. The machine is extortionate then you can’t use anything other than the live camera feed with two parent access without subscribing. The biggest rip off there’s so many other cameras that do these things as standard and are a 10th of the price .

I've had the nanit for almost 4 years now. We even purchased another after we got our second son so that we could work them in tandem and I can safely say, it was a very bad choice and investment. The app bugs every night. Either I can't see baby no1 or I can't see baby no2. Sometimes I can't operate the buttons. I have to restart the app every week. It's exhausting. The app sucks.

Also, what's the point of the baby breathing monitor if you can't use it for the following kids? You can only use it once. With your first purchase. And then you have to pay for the use of it. What a scam!

You have to pay for most things on the app. As if the camera price wasn't enough.

I am the first amongst my friends to have a baby. I share my buy list with everyone. Friends, neighbours, family. I'm talking at least 50 people. Nanit will not make the cut.

500 euro for this camera and you literally can't access any of the features they offer without paying an overly priced subscription.

We initially got some insights for free, like how often the baby woke in the last 24hours or when the baby was attended to. That has now been removed and to get back we have to pay for the subscription. They also removed the baby crying notification!! Are you actually serious?? I didn't even realise it was gone until I walked past my babies room and heard him crying. I got no notification on my phone as I have been recieving for the past 4 months. This is DANGEROUS!!!

Without the subscription it is now literally just a basic camera, with no useful features. It also often disconnects and you get no notification on your phone to say the camera has disconnected.

I've no idea how nanit are getting 4.5-4.7/ 5 reviews everywhere else on Google but here it's 1.2. There is clearly something dodgy going on with the reviews. There is NOWAY this is 4.7 rated product.

So annoyed I bought this camera. What a waste of money.

When I purchased the Nanit camera, it was advertised that the insights subscription would last a year. However, they changed this to only 6 months, and now it costs £75 annually. I have emailed them twice about this issue and have received no response.

It's appalling that a company would not only break their original promise but also completely ignore tired and stressed parents who have invested in their premium products. This lack of communication and disregard for their customers is unacceptable.

If this is how they treat paying customers, I strongly urge you to stay away from Nanit. Their products are overpriced, and their customer service is non-existent. Absolutely shocking experience!

I am consistently irritated by this purchase.

They follow an Apple/ipod style business model, charging a lot for the camera but not being particularly transparent about the exorbitant £100 or so annual feels to access anything but basic camera functionality.

I can't do anything with this product now as it is not something I can feasibly sell on without expecting a return/aggravation, nor is it a product I would burden family or friends with by giving it to them - I know I'd be offended/irritated if someone offloaded this to me without sufficient warning, and I'm not easily offended.

This is an appalling product and I would never recommend it. It is probably the worst-priced tech product I've ever purchased. If you want a basic camera with limited functionality save your money and buy something much, much cheaper.

The only way I would revise my view is with a full, receipt-free refund. I don't expect I'll be getting that, though!

they refuse to provide me any return label saying i have to pay for returning and do it myself.

never buy from this company, i need to pay 50$ shipping to get a broken item refunded, this company is evil way to manage. they just refuse everything, anything you ask is refused, even when the shipping damaged the item.

I really wanted to love this product...

We have been using the Nanit Pro for 6 months. I'm not sure what is going on with their app, and I see that others in other threads and on other websites have complained about the same thing, but its terrible. The number of times that it wont load, or disconnects and asks me to trouble shoot is concerning. I work in the tech space selling software and I'm not sure if its a bug in the latest release or something else needs to be updated but there seems to be issues across the board with this service.

We don't pay for the app, I refuse to pay money for ANOTHER subscription for a piece of technology attached to my kid. Maybe they slow down the service so you upgrade?

Anywho, I hope they can figure it out.

Extortionate subscription model and aggressie in-app upsells make this product not worth it.

They charge a per camera monthly subscription fee if you want to save the videos for more then a day. A subscription model for this is bad enough, but the gall to charge per device instead of for the app.

I gave it a 1 because I could not give it a zero. I bought this 8 months ago when I was having my second child bc of the versatility for travel and the split screen option. This is the WORST monitor. I have had connection issues since I got it. I have had the cameras replaced three times and lose feed, sound and connection several times a week on both systems. I have spoken to Nanit customer service and they are nice, responsive and all but it’s excuse after excuse on why this is happening with no fix. I even paid for WiFi extenders and had my entire internet system upgraded bc I was told that the problem initially was my internet. Now Nanit customer service keeps telling me the issue is in the process of being fixed but it is not done yet.

I asked if we could just part ways and asked for a refund of the money I spent. They are refusing to refund me bc it is past the 45 days. I have asked to speak to the person in charge and they won’t let me. They just keep asking me to be patient. It’s hard to be patient when I am getting up every night bc I have to unplug and reboot both cameras several times during the night and during the day. This monitor advertises it reduces parent stress bc it’s so good ( paraphrasing). Well this is just adding to my stress and frustrations.

Update since review posted- customer Service refunded me my money for the monitors. I do greatly appreciate that.

Complete waste of money.
Stay away from this company. It costs a fortune just to be able to make sure your baby is breathing with the monitor band.. why this isn’t a free part of free plan I have no idea. It seems to be free on my phone to watch but not on the iPad.. Not only that but they send you 1 band for 0-3 months. You then have to purchase a bigger size later on. The baby isn’t even in their own cot until 6 months half the time anyway.

You can’t just move the camera to another room without paying another £100+ for the travel stand…
So if your baby falls asleep in another room you can’t take the camera to the room theyre in especially when you’ve mounted the camera to the wall above their cot and used the conduit to hide the wires.
I’m fuming that we spent so much money on this item. It’s going to drain the life out of my phone and iPad to just watch or even listen to her sleep.
Stick to a standard £40 monitor and don’t bother with this useless product.
The camera is clear but a basic camera does the exact same but for free !
Over £200 a year to save pictures and watch my baby sleep isn’t something I was planning on spending. I’d be better off hiring a babysitter to watch every night instead!

This company is just pure greed. You buy their overpriced camera and then they have the audacity to charge you a subscription to use it (or any of the features that make it anything more than a simple camera monitor). Avoid.

Look, the camera quality is good, and it has a lot of features. The catch is that almost none of the features you read about on the box, or in the reviews are available to you if you have the flex stand plugged into your camera. If you want all the bells and whistles, you can pay an additional minimum of $150 for a wall stand, or minimum $250 for the flood stand. Once you've sold a kidney for your wall or floor stand after originally paying the $480 for the base stand, you'll then realised that you still don't have access to the features you want. Like being able to watch back the videos of your baby during the night, or any any kind of review of your baby's sleep. These are all things that get advertised as included, and are included for a monthly fee.

Honestly, in the first year, with a floor stand, and subscription to watch things back, you're probably looking at around $1000.

Save yourself a significant amount of money and get these features included on competitor models for a fraction of the price.

I agree with these reviews the Nanit has the WORSE customer service. It’s like is rehearse. For all the money they ask for they should have better customer service. They are always doing updates and I paid for a subscription although there’s always an issue with the dashboard and their response is always have you check the position of the crib. I am very frustrated with them and I’m looking to replace this camera. They are NOT WORTH IT.

Received it as a gift. The video history is an extra subscription so had to pay extra on top just to be able to look back and see what went wrong last night or to save a memory.
The history feature is aweful. It does not work on their web and on my Android is working very poorly. It wouldn't stop the screen to turn off, and wouldn't let you download a part of the night and the forward and backwards buttons sometimes make the app to go to halt. God forbid if you turn your phone while playing the video. It would go to pause wland no buttons will show up.
The only options for downloading is to download the events that it picks up. So basically if you spent 20 minutes to out your baby to sleep, you'll get maybe 2×30 seconds of actions that was interesting for the AI. Implementing a download is very basic function, but somehow they didn't implement it.
Then, they have issue with connectivity. Even though I have a wifi 6 smart mesh that is only 2-3 away from the device and is connected to a 1GB fiber internet, it still disconnects once or twice a day.
The plus points of the cam is that it is smart enough to track the actions like baby woke up or the caregiver is helping her.
For sure does not worth the money

Customer service rude and unhelpful. Misleading emails offering deals that don't work and deny any issue with this.
