Great experience

I sold my iPad after purchasing a newer model from Very. A fantastic service dealt with very quickly. Posted on a Tuesday they received on the Wednesday my money was in my bank the same day. Would highly recommend

Did not do any repairs

Sent my phone for repair under Samsung warranty. Samsung outsourced their repair to this company. Upon recieving the device the company claimed that there was no fault despite providing video and photo evidence.

Incompetent Scam Artists & Thieves

Followed their documented process to wipe a laptop to the letter and after sending it to them they said they were unable to wipe it even after I had done it for them. They then kept my charger and returned my laptop to me.

Pure incompetence even when you do their job for them. Avoid at all costs

DESERVE ZERO STARS NOTHING BUT A SCAM

If zero stars was available that's what they would be getting. Traded in my old Flip 6 through Very to get the new Flip 7, initially was offered £430 but company insisted I send them the phone before my new one was delivered. Got a message today to say they have reviewed the condition of my phone saying it had screen burn etc when the phone left me it was in perfect working condition (less than a year old & always in a case), no screen burn, no scratches, no chips..........NOTHING......they had the cheek to send a reviewed offer of £76.00 which has been declined so will be getting it back & it can lie in a drawer until someone needs a spare one. I thought doing this through Very was a safe way to trade in my old phone but seems more like they give a price then low ball you.......stinks of a scam if you ask me just wonder is Very in on the deal to scam us out of hard earned money because we like to update our tech!!!!

SCAMMERS - LIARS - AMATUERS

Liars, scammers, they do WARRANTY REPAIRS for Samsung - SAMSUNG SHAME ON YOU !!!! They don't replace anything, they say it's fixed when its not! They say repair completed, they sent it back 2 weeks later and later, when you call they said not fixed for no reason! A bunch of amateurs and someone had connections to get this shady deal with SAMSUNG! Again, SAMSUNG shame on you - you buying a 1.5k £ laptop and you expect to have a proper warranty not with this "authorised Samsung repair service" STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't listen to all the negative reviews

I've seen a lot of negative reviews on here, but the experience I've had has been amazing.

The people who answer the phone are genuinely nice, they are respectful and provide clear responses to any questions.

Thank you for an easy experience. I highly recommend.

MTR disposing of people's property without consent

Sent my Samsung tablet back through Very to MTR trade in, they offered me a paltry sum and if didn't want it they would send it back .They insist if a pen is with your model it must be sent.i packaged it up in my original box with the the pen which I had never used .I asked for it back .It was sent back in an old black box minus the pen .On phoning them I was told they throw the pens and boxes away,this was my property not there's to dispose of ,I could have sold this privately with the original box and pen ,these pens cost £59 why insist on it being sent if they are supposedly throwing it away , I intend to take this further

Avoid.

Was initially offered £190 for a fully working X Box X with controller, immaculate and all packaged sent recorded delivery ( £20 postage paid for the privilege) also worth noting they sent me a bag suitable for a mobile phone to put the entire console in it's box in! A bag! Alarm bells should have rung louder. I had bought another XBox X as this one was five years old but still in good clean working order, no scratches bumps or issues I expected a little wriggle room and for them to lower the quote slightly but as this company was through the retailer I bought it from it made me feel a little more secure. What I didn't expect was to be offered £5 in total as the controller had slight drift on the left stick! A five year old controller has some drift?!. Quelle Surprise! Did I want to accept this revised quote of £5 from £190 for the console? Of course not, immediately declined, Now hoping I actually get my X Box X back. Otherwise I will be writing to Trading Standards. I'm not sure if I should be laughing or crying. £5 for a fully working XBox X??? I am keeping my fingers crossed I get my actual XBox X back and not a dodgy damaged one from someone else. Luckily I still have the serial numbers

I bought an iphone 16 from Very

I bought an iphone 16 from Very. MTR offered trade in for my old iphone 12 during the process.
Although what they offered is some less than market value, it is still better than others (e.g.John Lewis). So I opted in and accepted their estimated value for my 12.
Their return package did not arrive so I asked for another one by email. A day later, both mails arrived.
They do not include a box. Luckily I could find one and put phone into it and put box into the bag.
Fortunately value of my phone is on par with insurance of free postage. So I selected and put that label on to the bag.
My old phone is delivered to them today. They confirmed the delivery. After a while they confirmed the value and in two hours they deposited the money into my bank account.
They guarantee the trade-in price for 14 days. I missed that window and MTR sent a notification about it. But at the end they paid the estimated value without deduction. I think they monitor market value and in case of a change, they adjust their evaluation.
My experience with MTR for trade-in process is positive. After accepting their offer, rest of the process was smooth. They kept me informed at every step and made the payment as promised. I would use this service again.

Incompetent

Samsung (and others) - Look at these reviews. This supplier is clearly incompetent and this does not reflect well on your brand.

The phones lines are currently not working. I am cut off each time after 5 mins. I have emailed three times over the last 48 hours with no response. Previous responses I have received from this company have been curt and unhelpful.

the worst customer service ive evere experanced

this is the worst company I have ever dealt with from saying they haven't received the trade in phone to taking £200 and then cutting the new phone off. Not answering the phone when they do and cant answer your questions just cut you off. avoid at all costs.

I bought an S25 Ultra with a bonus £50…

I bought an S25 Ultra with a bonus £50 Trade In mobile phone in perfect condition and hardly used.
I sent it to MTR Trade In. Yesterday 25/02/2025 I received an email stating that the phone was not received. I replied back with all evidence proof of posting and email sent from them that the Trade In phone was received by MTR. Today, I received another email with a screenshot of MTR trying to login to my Trade In phone using an email address? The phone was reset before sending it, so all data was erased. How do you login to a phone that was reset with an email address? The Trade In Team are now demanding £50 > in a rude manner no apologies at all about the shambles service. And no offer to send the phone back? I contacted Samsung Customer Services and very little help: contact I was told online the: shambles service offered by MTR Trade In Team! Avoid this Trade In offer from Samsung it seems to me that you gonna get ripped off!

Shocking Accusations & Terrible Customer Service – Avoid Samsung Trade-In!

I traded in my S23 Ultra for an official Samsung upgrade, using Samsung’s own prepaid Royal Mail return label. Despite having proof of postage, Royal Mail lost the parcel.

Instead of resolving the issue, I received an aggressive and insulting email from Samsung’s trade-in partner (MTR Group), falsely accusing me of forging my proof of postage and demanding I pay the full trade-in value. The accusation was so outrageous I thought it was a scam. But no – this is how Samsung treats loyal customers.

I have since reported this to Action Fraud UK, Trading Standards, and the Financial Ombudsman Service. I will NEVER buy another Samsung product while they remain partnered with these crooks.

⚠ If you’re considering a Samsung trade-in – DON’T! Their partner company will blame you for their failures and try to extort money from you.

Stay away !

The phone was in perfect condition with…

The phone was in perfect condition with was also protected by a double sided phone cover.
They then offer less than half of what was agreed. They returned the phone without the phone case and without the original box it came in.
The company is nothing but a scam. Full of grifters.

Smooth transaction, good value.

I used MTR because Very offered a trade-in deal for PS5. It was easy to get a quote. The packaging they sent wasn't useful as it was big enough for a phone, not a PS5. The postage they offered wasn't good either, they had two options - a free one with £100 insurance cover, the second one with £500 but you need to pay. I phoned them to clarify this as our item was valued at £200, but the customer care lady was very moody, and she did not understand our point. We used free postage, luckily all went smoothly and we received the payment without any issues. I filmed the process of packing the PS5 from beginning to end to show that what I sent was in good condition. I advise everyone to do the same, just as an insurance.

Unprofessional. Deliberate BER repair pricing strategy?

Last week I sent in a perfect condition phone (A Galaxy A52 5G) that had lost network after a Samsung software update. No other faults.

I've worked in 'phone repair and support for over 20 years.
Expected: a repair estimate with parts and labour.
Received: A an email with a link to open, which then showed either a quote for £160 +VAT (£191) to go ahead, or pay £15 to reject the repair.

The whole experience has no human touch, only chatbots, emails, and links to websites that are auto-generated. There's actually a number to call, but its just more automated menus.

I would expect a good customer experience would include at the very least a confirmation that they found the same fault as I described (not registering on the network), to give me confidence in the repair, but no.
No details at all - not even a shipping cost, no breakdown, no idea of what I'm getting for my almost £200.

This is one of the most unprofessional quotes I have ever seen at more than half the price of a new equivalent phone, and far below my expectations of a high-quality authorised Samsung repairer. If I was investigating any of my past suppliers for fraudulent behaviour, this is what I would be looking for: Overpriced repair charges without explanation, no details provided; and a separate "B-channel" selling refurbished phones.

I cannot NOT recommend this company enough. Don't bother, stay clear, do not use Samsung's guided repair process, find someone else. I will never use them again for anything based on this experience.

SCAM

I used the trade in service when purchasing a new phone from samsung. The phone was sent in perfect condition after having a case and camera lense cover on for the entrie time I owned the phone.
When they received they sent me a bill for £150 because of dust Inside the camera lense.

They sent me one image of the lenses and the surrounding area was heavily scratched and damaged. I disputed this was even my device but they downright refused to send any further images or videos of the rest of the device so I could confirm it was mine.

I was then told we are not sending any other images and your choices are pay the money, return your new device and have this (now damaged) phone back or be IMEI blocked.

The only image they sent looked like it was in a back office and the holder of the device with very long and dirty fingernails.

Massively unprofessional and an absolute scam

Good experience, shocked to read others.

If I had read the reviews before I probably wouldn't have traded my phone in. However I'm happy with the recent experience. Packaging arrived quickly with free postage or the option to pay to get a higher insurance amount if something went wrong. I got an email to say when they had received my phone and I got another one a few hours later with the full payment. No issues here when trading in through Very.
