I think they increase the price when it… Utter waste

I think they increase the price when it goes up, and lower it when the price goes down, do we need equity analysts to do that?

Their projections are so short-term term hence they keep on changing things, imagine buffet followed Morningstar he would have gone broke by now lol

Good analysts must be able to stand their ground on their valuation despite huge temporary irrationalities, I have never seen that for example when Meta crashed they hurried to lower valuations, when stock went up they rushed to increase valuation come on give me a break...
Even China's equity analyst is a complete joke, one week she suggested BABA, JD, and PDD, and the next week she suggested TEMU, JD, and BABA, so what if any investor wanna follow their advice supposed to do? Change stock week by week? lol

Analysis is useful but the site has frequent technical problems. They often last for weeks without being fixed Currently the portfolio functionality requires clearing your browser memory all the time.

Ok advice. Poor customer experience.

Not saying the advice on the website is terrible, but any website that forces you to call them, wait on hold and talk to two people to cancel or hold a membership subscription is annoying and feels like a scam. Being that the trust is an essential part of financial advice, this turns me off them. The idea of returning to them is extremely unlikely after this experience with their customer service.

Just putting it out there. It took 11 months for them to respond on trust pilot too…

Professional Advisors Against Morningstar

Truly, they don't deserve any star. I own a professional registered investment advisory firm and can tell you we are just as frustrated, if not more, than the investors writing in on Trustpilot.

At one time Morningstar was the gold standard. Now they don't even deserve to be in the lead (Pb) standard. Kunal Kapoor and the rest of the social revolutionaries are more interested in communist concepts such as ESG and EDI. They are committing corporicide in my opinion.

Charging for closed accounts and refusing full refunds.

Closing your account doesn't stop them from charging your card at renewal time without notice. When I called for a refund they admitted I didn't have access but refused refund the entire amount. I am going to initiate a chargeback and have the bank block them. Also the site was frequently down and it was full of broken links to their own content. It was not useful in my case.

The Wreck of Morningstar.com

M*.com has now been almost entirely dismantled. Their new Investor has not been populated with many of the capabilities that were on M*.com. For example, where did all the tools go??? Both fund and ETF tools like "Similar Funds" etc. aren't anywhere to be found. Investor pages crash all the time and have to be refreshed and the popup graphics you were looking at have to be recreated. Portfolio is worse than it was on M*.com and it freezes and crashes. I've been a premium subscriber for more than 15 years and this is the lowest point, the worst service, that I have ever seen at M*. I'm not renewing because Yahoo finance can do everything better for free. Even more irritating is the Help function is now offloaded to a community website and you have to join that to look up any help. What happened??? Did M* layoff all their geeks? What a crappy way to provide help -- this isn't Quicken for chrise sake.

RIP Morningstar.com.

Not possible to cancel Morningstar Dividend subscription

My subscription to Morningstar Dividend Investor was renewed without my agreeing to it. They promise on their website to stop the subscription any time you want and reimburse the money. But there is no replies on emails.
Strange because this it such a well known name but it seems to be a subscription scam.
Do not take a subscription!

Truelly appalling customer service

The service I have had from the global contacts/data questions/global product support team has been truely appalling. In setting up a product a/c I was required to reset p/w, link never gets sent - I have emailed the above team about 10x over the last 3 months, and keep being told this is being looked at etc. I hace tried to escalate and raise a complaint, all to no avail.

This team really couldn't care less about helping their customers, as a result I will be taking my custom to another company who actually cares about their customers

C'era una volta Morningstar, non c'è più

Utilizzo da anni il sito Morningstar, ma da diversi mesi si sommano diverse inefficienze. Le quotazioni degli ETF non solo più rilevate da settimane, non c'è traccia dell'andamento quotidiano. La ricerca delle sicav a mezzo ISIN per alcuni giorni e ininterrottamente, non funziona e devo ricorrere ad altra società; il pagamento del canone non è lineare ma devono intervenitre loro e da mesi campeggia un banner in cui dicono di avere problemi. ...
la loro credibilità si sta sgretoando.
C'era una volta Morningstar, non c'è più ...
Ricorro sempre più spesso ad altri e mi abbonerò ad altri.

They auto renewed my "Premium" subscription , and charged me three times on the same day. Still waiting for a refund

Couldn’t Care Less Company

Used the predecessor Plum Software very happily for seven years, the company unilaterally decided to discontinue this in favour of their latest “WealthCraft” offering, closed our software down a month before the system told us it was going to be closed (referring to a six month old email) and wouldn’t reactivate, beware current users of WealthCraft for fear that they will close that without warning. Sad to have left after so long but treated us with contempt. No customer consideration whatsoever.

Incompetent and untrustworthy

My IFA moved all of my investments to this company (then named Praemium) a year or so ago. I very quickly realised that their software and administration was appalling and noticed that transactions, including one of £20,000 appeared, disappeared and then reappeared randomly, some of which were backdated months. This meant reconciliation was impossible and I asked my IFA to move to another platform. This took 8 months. In the meantime, I asked my IFA to arrange significant compensation from Praemium?Morningstar as I felt their system was not fit for purpose, and had wasted significant amounts of my time trying to work out what they were doing with my investments. My IFA negotiated a 50% reduction of all the Praemium charges for me. Unfortunately there was nothing in writing from Praemium/Morningstar to confirm this reimbursement, and subsequently I was reimbursed 50% of four months charges. If you MUST deal with this company, please make sure that you get EVERYTHING in writing!!

UNBELIVEABLE

UNBELIVEABLE - same claim of other customers -
1) My 'Account Profile' page never contains any data. I don't know when my subscription renews.
2) They auto-renewed my subscription, unknown to me. They don't warn you. There is no way to cancel the service on their site.
3) I contacted them via "Contact Us". They replay once asking me the Credit Card number to renew the subscription. No additional contacts
4) All-in-all, a slow web site and terrible customer service.
5) The Home page is full of advertaising
6) I have all my data in Porfolio Premium but I can not analyze them.
7) Morningstar decided to suspend the delivery of Monthly Portfolio Report even if it was in the cost of the subscription

Not worth the price paid, poor customer service.

Update 2025-01-15: They were very quick to reply to my ratings/comments, 23 MONTHS AFTER REVIEWING !!! Unbelievable. I cancelled my subscription long ago.

Portfolio page not available again!

After logging in with 2 different browsers I am unble to access my Portfolio. Therefore I cannot update and cannot see the value of my investments or access my watchlist. This happened 3 weeks ago since then I ahve not accessed until today and the problem is still there. It is a waste of my time logging on and waiting for a fat zero

Don’t buy morningstar uK premium. It’s a waste.

I love the data but someone needs to montetise this service properly. The person currently responsible definitely needs to be fired. Awful that for that last two months the portfolio monitor has not worked. The poor support staff on India are supportive but clueless as to when the problem will be resolved. I cannot believe they continue to sell memberships under false promises. What a waste of good data.

I have premium service

I have premium service, but just does not work. Every time I try to use a function reserved for a premium subscriber, like a derailed stock report, it reverts to my being a basic subscriber and I have to logout and log back in. I have been telling the support people for months. Finally I asked them to just send me a report for a security by PDF, and they replied they could not as the problem is system wide and they cannot even access it themselves. Problem is with the UK site. Maybe US site ok, dunno.
