Appalling outfit who do not accept ANY reason for appeal
I have had a terrible experience with Minsterbaywatch. I had been taken unwell after meeting friends for lunch. I have heart failure and sometimes my BP drops so I go dizzy and lose my balance. M&S staff kindly found me a seat and gave me water at the store entrance. I was leaving for a Heart Failure check with my doctor and I provided dated proof with full medical details of this appointment to Minsterbaywatch. I have a Blue Badge because of this. All ignored by them. I'd said that, given what had happened, I had no idea that I was even over the time limit. Their response was that I should have contacted them by the following day to explain myself - why would I when I didn't know I was over the time limit? Even worse than all of this, they simply ignore any mitigation, make it impossible to get in touch with them and do not read further emails. They just send automated responses. All I am asking for atm is PROOF or acknowledgement that I have indeed paid them. Surely this kind of practice is unethical as well as being unfair and unreasonable. I am not at all surprised that they have a 100% negative review record.
Complete farce
Claimed that they had sent me two letters for a fine, which I never received, and now it's £155. When I sent them an email, I received an automated reply saying they will not deal with any correspondence, and I need to pay them as it has gone over the time scales they impose. What an appalling way of dealing with a fine. I might start sending out a single letter now demanding £155 from people, with them having my way to contact me to raise a concern. It's boarding on criminal.
Just received a parking notice stating…
Just received a parking notice stating I’d contravened their T&Cs for an event on the 2nd of August and they state I’d changed everything required late July yet they still issued the fine. Stating they’d reduce it to £20 as a gesture of goodwill. This is an extremely incompetent company but I suppose subcontracted by a water company we shouldn’t be surprised.
Re: Parking Charge Notice Number 71232823 (Vehicle: 3CBV)
I have parked on multi storey carpark…
I have parked on multi storey carpark that is owned by this company last month. I have paid prior to leaving to town £2.60 for 2 hours. I have made sure I came back within that time frame. I have received Parking charge notice for £100 stating that I haven't paid.
£60 if i pay within 14 days. I have appealed online and sent them proof of my online banking payment. They have sent response saying "Upon
reviewing our payment records for the date in question, we cannot find any payment associated for your
vehicle registration or a vehicle with a similar registration"
but as gesture of good will i can pay £20.
Absolute scammers, you should be ashamed of yourself, I will be taking things further, reporting to BPA. Its not about the amount its about a principle -scamming people and getting away with it. It needs to stop!
I wouldn't even give this company one…
I wouldn't even give this company one star.
My brother went into hospital with a stroke Saturday 12th in Hereford so my mother paid to park in Kyrle Street car park, Hereford. She clicked 3 hours on the machine and paid with her card. She then received a letter 18th July advising her she had over stayed from 16.40 to 19.37 - 3 minutes before was due to expire. She received a letter to say that the correct amount hadn't been paid and had overstayed but the machine didn't say this.
The letter said if she could pay within 14 days it would be £60 however she didn't receive her pension until today and had to pay £100. Disgusting. Profiting off vulnerable people... When you call the phone number no one answers!!!
Money for old rope
We had been using a disabled parking space within Teeside Park shopping area with a blue badge unfortunately I had thrown my cap into the car whilst there and it has covered part of the badge but you could clearly see the blue parking disc. So I have received a parking ticket for it.Firstly the statutory time for parking in teeside park is 4 hours and every car should display a parking disc but we all know that it's not the case. Secondly After reading the reviews I came to the conclusion that even if I did try and appeal the fine that my odds are against me and for them it's money for old rope. A sad state of affairs if companies like this can act without any care and attention.
Profiteering Private Car parking - uses underhand tactics to fine genuine customers
Parked at Cotswold riverside car park - went to pay for 3 hours - using pay and display machine.
Entered car reg - increased time from 1hour to 3 - before I could pay it reverted to 1 hour - tried this 3 times and thought it was a fault.
Paid for 1 hour !!
Received notice showing cctv of arriving and leaving but I challenged and appealed the fine £60 for overstaying by 1 hour 45 mins. On the grounds that the machine was not calibrated and kept defaulting to 1 hour.
Why would I risk a fine when I knew the time I would stay for.
Could not get app to download for paying on my phone.
Having read the reviews on here - I can see an appeal,to Popla would be a waste of time.
Should I visit the area again I will post a sign ( physical near entrance)for other drivers to warn of the practises this company use to profit from genuine customers and their low handed method of manipulating invoices - under the guise of legal fines - just total profiteering.
SCAM COMPANY
SCAM COMPANY. I paid £10 for parking but was only there just over 2hrs got parking charge 2 weeks later. Appealed but refused. Said I had 14 day to pay £60 and after that £100. Went on line within the 14day because no one to talk to and they want £100. So cost me £110. for 2hrs parking. Do they do this to everyone who pay cash. RIPPOFF COMPANY. SCAM COMPANY. Do NOT park at any of their sites. Council did not want to know. DISGUSTING
Disgusting disgusting this needs to be…
Disgusting disgusting this needs to be taken to the Council to cancel the licence to operate.
Avoid using this parking company at all…
Avoid using this parking company at all costs! Find another parking solution, i had a parking fine, sent off valid proof and still, because there is no one to talk the appeal was refused and its pay or else at the full price not reduced cost!!! You should be very ashamed of yourselves as a company, money making scammers
Minster Baywatch Parking
Minster Baywatch Parking: a masterclass in parasitic capitalism
Welcome to the dystopian theme park known as Minster Baywatch Parking, conveniently located in Kingston, Milton Keynes, or as I like to call it, The Place Where Hope Goes to Die in 10 Minutes or Less.
You’d think a parking company might be in the business of, you know, facilitating parking. But no. Minster Baywatch is proudly redefining their business model as “punitive revenue extraction via stealth tactics.” Blink once and you’ve overstayed your welcome. Blink twice and your wallet’s already bleeding out a £100 ‘charge notice’ for daring to exist in the wrong bay for 61 seconds.
Their signage? Strategically engineered to meet the legal minimum requirements while maximizing ambiguity. Think “Where’s Wally” but if Wally was your legal right to not be fined into oblivion.
Need to appeal? Delightful. You’ll be directed to an “independent” appeals process that makes Kafka’s The Trial feel like a Disney short. Spoiler: you lose. You always lose. Their customer service team is a black hole of pre-written auto-responses, efficient only in their ability to kill your last shred of faith in humanity.
And let’s not forget the pièce de résistance: ANPR cameras so eager they probably fine pigeons for loitering.
To summarize: If you're nostalgic for the Cold War-era Stasi but with less charm and more parking enforcement, congratulations, you’ve found your people.
A Company Profiting From Fines
This company appears to be more interested in making money by fining motorists than by providing a parking service. Having parked for a dental appointment with my disabled wife, I found the ticket machine was out of action, covered and taped. Despite a search there was no indication of an alterative means of payment. The dental staff informed me that I would not be alone in receiving a fine, unless I could pay by phone (which I did not have with me). How long is a company allowed to operate a car park with a broken ticket machine, no indication of payment alternatives and a stesdy income from fines?
Unprofessional and Unscrupulous
I have had a payment demand today for a ticket for which the original notice was never received. This may have been because the post service failed to deliver or, most likely, because they never sent one in the first place. The alleged contravention was a £60 increasing to £100 after 14 days, then increasing to £155. I run a fleet of over 250 vehicles and all parking and speeding offences are always dealt with within 3 days, usually the same day as they are received.
There is no right of appeal given as it is over 28 days from, when they claim to have sent the original charge. The website states they are unable to discuss parking charges over the telephone and there is no other way of contacting them, the email address given states that they are unable to assist with PCN's already issued. Following the appeal links, it is rejected as over the time limit.
If one of our drivers has made a contravention, we will always pay, but surely we can expect a fair service and some reasonable communication channels to be in place.
Overall, this is a thoroughly unprofessional service by an apparently unscrupulous company.
Baywatch gave me a parking ticket ina free car park
Medicine minister Baywatch gave me a parking ticket in the free car park because I hadn’t registered as a mother and baby in the spaghetti junction that is Meadow Hall Sheffield knowing it’s free parking everywhere I parked in a underground part of it which I didn’t want, but I can’t fathom where to go there any time anyway And they ended up with a car parking ticket in a free car park on a Sunday mince to make it really hard if you want to query it you have to write a handwritten letter. If you want to pay it that’s easy enough. They’ll do that straight away funny that isn’t it they make it as hard as anything for you to appeal. super easy to pay who wants to write a letter pure ripper
The worst type of company
The worst type of company. Unreasonable when appealing my disabled daughter’s parking fine. Having a machine with no cash option and no WiFi or phone signal available is unethical. Hang your heads in shame.
Terrible company
Terrible company.
Attended York College as a volunteer for students to practice on. I was unaware you had to register your vehicle as I was uninformed on arrival. Two weeks later, I Received a parking notice fining me £60 or £30 if I pay within 14 days.
I submitted my appointment card with said date and time of appointment as evidence to prove I was at the appointment and not just parking there for free. And they have rejected my appeal and offered that I can pay £20 as a goodwill gesture. Or if I take it the ombudsman as an appeal and it gets rejected again I will have to pay the full £60.
Last time I’ll be volunteering to go let students practice on me to help them qualify 👍 good job Minster Baywatch.
Notice Number 71206958
Absolutely disgusting company
Absolutely disgusting company. Issuing fines for disabled people displaying their badge. Appealing is a waste of time as they have no morals just out to exploit as many people as they can. They have no compassion for disabled people and their daily struggle. I would advise everyone to stay well clear. This happened at Meadowhall Sheffield somewhere I will never go again. I will spend all my money elsewhere - horrendous experience
Time to shut them down
Received a parking ticket. Evidenced we had paid. Kept receiving demands for payments. The company makes it deliberately difficult to contact them. Emails are the only route but don’t get responded to. X5 went without response. Had no choice but to pay the fine. System would not take the payment figure. Attempted contact to no avail
In summary, companies making fines should be legally bound to provide routes of contact and have deadlines to respond. We asked for their policy on this and they failed to respond
In summary, companies like Minster Baywatch should be closed down. They get a 1.1 rating for a reason. They are a rogue business
Councils need to take responsibility to read all these appalling similar reviews and stories and stop renewing or awarding contracts to Minster Baywatch
Wish I could put a negative
Wish I could put a negative, they sum up everything that's gone downhill in the UK, just nasty, greedy, empty souls.
This is a shocking company
This is a shocking company. Try not to get caught by them. If you do don’t even try to appeal, you just get the standard letter. Even though I did have children in the car, I also have a disabled pass which I believed allowed me to park anywhere. Also they mentioned a court case where the driver lost. Just to check you feel a bit threatened and pay up.
