Sadly, MavenArt’s “‘COMMITMENT’ TO CLIENTS” falls way short.
“Chat Service: Real people, real answers, available 24/7” …. HAHA!! Despite multiple requests — via phone conversations, Chats, SMS texts and e-mails — it took three days to warrant a courtesy call-back to discuss and to consult on painting specifics.
If the so-called Customer Service and “Commitment” are sooooo pathetic, can only imagine how sad and bad the painting(s) would be!?
Decided to not even continue and have cancelled our order; now working / waiting for FULL REFUND and Visa is monitoring DISPUTE.
Best of luck to the daring ones who choose to work with (try to) MavenArt … you have been warned.
Given the waste of time and energy, MavenArt does not deserve Zero stars, perhaps NEGATIVE 2 (-2) STARS??

We regret that this project did not meet your expectations.
This was a custom commissioned artwork with a requested delivery timeline. During the course of the project, several additional requests were made regarding design revisions, communication frequency, progress reporting, and delivery expectations. While we always strive to accommodate our clients wherever possible, some of these requests extended beyond our standard commissioning process.
Our paintings are traditionally hand-painted by professional artists on blank canvases. We provide layouts, stage updates, and previews throughout the process as proof of progress and craftsmanship. However, our artists do not work under continuous daily supervision, nor do we provide daily progress photographs, videos, calls, or daily status reports during production. Maintaining artistic independence is an important part of our process and allows our artists to focus on creating the best possible artwork.
Throughout the project, we accommodated multiple design revisions and additional requests while communicating openly regarding production timelines. As with all handmade oil paintings, completion and delivery timelines can be affected by revisions, approval timelines, drying times between paint layers, and shipping transit.
Ultimately, because we felt we might not be able to deliver the experience being requested, we chose to cancel the project and issue a full refund before the artwork was completed. We believed this was the fairest outcome for everyone involved.
We genuinely wish you all the best and appreciate the opportunity to have been considered for this project.

Good 1 for 1, caution if embellished
Maven art was friendly and willing to take on a tough project of mine. Unfortunately, it wasn’t exactly what I was looking for, though they delivered exactly what they said they would. To explain: I had two photos of two separate subjects that I wanted to combine into a single, cohesive scene. Maven art responded quickly and positively. They came back with photoshop mock up of the two subjects. The problem was that the two pictures they chose were vastly out of season with each other and the poses were fairly stiff. It looked like photoshop, a bad one, which is pretty much what it was.
I probably would have pushed more for change if they hadn’t had a line in their email that said “Please ignore the design imperfections. The artist will blend the subject with the background while commissioning the artwork.”. Additionally, I asked them to add more green into the photo as my first edit because the snow was subconsciously bothering me (the man I wanted was wearing a tank top) and they lowered the fence line in the back of the photo (to stretch the tree I guess?) and which ended up shrinking the guy. It was at that point I realized I wasn’t going to be able to finesse it too much (and probably should have walked away) but the previously mentioned line gave me hope it would be a little more natural than the photoshopped poses. Additionally, I asked for in progress photos because I had read a previous review that doubted they used actual paint, and they agreed but only to send the in progress photos along with the finished work. Not that they allow changes once the layout has been approved anyway.
I received the painting as promised (and their customer service was great when it got caught in customs) and can verify that I am fairly certain it is real oil paint, but it is EXACTLY like the layout they gave me. The blending, if any, was very minimal and the result was a bit too dead and disjointed for me to feel good about giving such a special gift to my mom. That being said, they are leagues cheaper than any other source I’ve encountered and did a really good recreation of their mock-up. If you have a 1 for 1 photo that you are already in love with, you’ll likely be pretty satisfied.

Your project was indeed a highly customized and emotionally meaningful one, involving the blending of separate reference photos into a single cohesive scene. Because of the complexity involved, we created four separate design layouts for your project, which is significantly more than our usual process, and only proceeded with the artwork once we received confirmation that you were satisfied with the final approved layout.
As all our artworks are 100% handmade oil paintings, the approved design/layout becomes the primary visual reference for the artist during the painting process. While we do our best to naturally blend elements together during painting, major changes to body proportions, poses, composition, or structural elements become extremely difficult once the artwork has been started by the artist. Had concerns regarding the proportions, poses, seasonal mismatch, or fence positioning been shared before the artwork phase began, we absolutely would have continued refining the layouts further before proceeding.
We are nevertheless very grateful that you acknowledged the artwork was indeed hand-painted and that our team remained responsive throughout the process, including assisting with the customs delay.
At the same time, we genuinely value your feedback regarding expectations around blending and composition. Every client visualizes sentimental artwork differently, and your comments help us improve how we communicate the transition between layout design and final painted interpretation for future custom projects.
Please know that we are still open to reviewing revision possibilities. If you would like, you may email us detailed feedback regarding specific areas you would like adjusted, and we will gladly review the feasibility with our artists and get back to you accordingly.

Skeptical of what I received…
While the oil painting I received is beautiful, I highly doubt it was actually hand painted. There is ZERO texture on the canvas, which is odd for something that was supposed to be painted directly onto the canvas. Also, my “painting” was delivered from China. This seems to be a PRINT that I paid a lot of money for. I would not purchase from this website again.

Your piece was commissioned as a 100% hand-painted oil painting, not a print. We work with professional artists across our studio network, and in this case the artwork was painted and shipped from our China studio, which is why the shipment originated there.

The staff I was in communication with was always friendly and helpful. A Christmas to remember...
MavenArt took a photo I had given them of our newborn son at 5 months old and created an art piece which we will cherish forever. I gave the painting as a gift to my wife for Christmas, taking one of her favorite photos of our son, playing at 5 months old while I held him and asking MavenArt to make it into a painting. When she opened up the gift, her eyes literally filled with tears because she was so happy and full of joy. The painting perfectly captures a special moment in our baby's life, and I was able to live the special moment of seeing my wife's reaction to the painting. I rarely "get the perfect gift", but I have to thank the MavenArt team in helping me do so this Christmas. PS - as a bonus, they worked with me to rush delivery so I would get the painting before Christmas - and their customer service team literally checked in with me just about every day until I received it. I couldn't be happier!
