Born in 2015 from a passion for craft and quality, Maddisons of Durham is a small, independent supplier of jewellery-making tools and equipment — trusted by silversmiths, students, and studio makers across the UK. We’re a close-knit team (humans, dogs, and one endlessly curious Bengal cat), dedicated to offering friendly, down-to-earth service with a personal touch. Everything we stock is carefully handpicked with makers in mind — from trusted staples like Durston, ImpressArt, and Beadsmith to specialist gems such as Thompson Enamels, GreenLion tools, and the complete Fretz collection. We work hard to match big-brand prices wherever possible, so you can invest in top-quality tools without stretching your budget. Whether you’re just starting out or deep into your making journey, we’re here to help you find the right tools for the job.

My original item must have got lost in the post
My original item must have got lost in the post. After waiting for over a month, I decided to email yourselves and soon afterwards received an email from Dianne. She was polite, efficient and resolved the matter immediately. I've now received the item and am very happy with.

Good customer service but slow despatch
Very obligingly held my order to post when I returned from being away then when I said I was ready to have it shipped there was a delay because there was miscommunication in the process , and shipping took ages , but I will be a repeat customer and I was pleased with the item .

The product is of incredible poor…
The product is of incredible poor quality. The cheapest plastic possible, for a 38GBP sales prices, could not have cost more than 1GBP to produce. The travel case is better quality. Everything about this product is JUNK!

Good morning Howard,
I am so sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the product. We always encourage customers to reach out via email if they are unhappy with a product. We offer free returns.
I have just looked at the Carson CP-45 and can see that it does have positive reviews online. I don't recall another complaint about any of our Carson range.
Again, I do apologise this doesn't meet your expectations. Please reach out if you wish to return the product.
Warm wishes,
Hannah
