I was listed as a nominal defendant in a wrongful death law suit. I was confused and he helped me understand that I was not responsible in any fashion and also made sure I received a copy of the will/ trust.

I was looking for a probate lawyer in New Mexico. I signed up for "Talk to a Lawyer", and got an appointment with a criminal defense/civil litigation lawyer in New Jersey. I'm going to dispute the charge.

First off, they advertise a 5 Star Trust pilot score... Total scam stay away. Just scammers trying to get a few bucks off you.
Edit: your trustpilot score is 3.1 not 5.0... correct?

I love using legal match. It is easy to use and you don't have to repeat your story over and over again which in itself can be traumatic.

I haven’t received a lawyer assigned to my case yet the lawyers I did speak with they gave me some good advice

I'm responding to the fact that legal match did not respond to my email to them but immediately responded to this review I left trying to cover their tracks. Anyone can look up the Tom Girardi debacle where the California State Bar was found colluding with his firm and him to harm the public for years, taking tens of millions of dollars from families. Filing a State Bar complaint does not always result in an ethical ruling by the State Bar and many errors are made by them. This is coming from a family of attorneys who has first hand experience with this.
Legal Match completely misrepresented that they screen their attorneys. Do they check actual reviews or just that they haven't had any disciplinary action? Some they sent me had horrible one-star reviews that seemed legitimate and were all left at different times, different years and from different people. Second, they referred an attorney to me on another case who was a no-show in court and then walked away from the case sending me a $65,000 bill. He ended up dying and apparently was very ill at the time he was representing me and should not have taken on any litigation.
I attempted to use Legal Match again and in the middle of the night received instant replies from them stating that several attorneys responded. The emails and texts stated that the attorney would be contacting me. I never received any direct communication from any of the attorneys and the one I did call said they knew nothing about my case, had no record of it or the documents I attached. When I called Legal match about this they could not give me any information. I asked if the attorney's pay for the service and they said they could not answer that question. Lack of transparency is another cause for concern

I'm disappointed with the vetting process for lawyers at LegalMatch. We hired Iftikar Memon, who charged us $20,000, $13,000 of that was paid over six months, but only filed three motions in that time. He provided no invoices to explain how our money was spent, claiming that transparency is uncommon in the industry. Communication was minimal, and he was most responsive near when payments were due. When I asked for updates, I felt I was inconveniencing him. At one point, he questioned whether he could continue representing us if we didn’t trust him.
We requested a motion for bond early on, but he delayed for months, arguing it would risk his credibility with the judge. Eventually, he took another two months just to reach the prosecutor, continually citing some excuse. He visited his client in jail only once in the six months and even failed to visit and discuss the case thoroughly before key depositions. When asked about visiting or even contacting his client, he made promises to go see him because as clients we are encouraged to not discuss the case over the phone on the recorded lines,at all, but then would always have an excuse as to why he was unable to go visit his client. Even with attorney/client privileges, he still was "untrusting" of the phone services and refused to let him contact him through calls.
When he finally filed a bond motion, it was poorly constructed, leaving the client to argue their own case. We were consistently told to manage our expectations, which told me that he believed his client was guilty, and barely had faith in his own abilities. He never discussed the charges or the case with his client in the six months. Did not know his side of the story, alibi, and kept refused his clients right to a speedy trial.
When we decided to terminate his services, I reviewed our contract and noted that while the retainer was non-refundable, we were entitled to a refund for unspent fees. His only response was a poorly written letter with grammatical errors and a misspelling of his client's name, stating that all payments were final. I pointed out the specific terms of our contract that supported my claim for a refund of $6,500, minus any extra documented expenses. After that, I received only a text with a court date for his removal from our case.
Overall, my experience was extremely unsatisfactory, and I urge LegalMatch to improve its lawyer vetting process. Potential clients are coming to you because they're in vulnerable situations, and trust that these are ethical referrals when they have nowhere else to turn to.

Wasnt contacted by a lawyer. When i went to update per your request, i mentioned the same, but you responded “thats great that you were able to find a lawyer through our service.” So much backwards.
Your requests for update are so pigeonholed with a lot of choices assumed on your end.
I have made several requests for assistance through LegalMatch and every one fell through failed.
I would make constructive suggestions towards improvement, but the problems are either too systemic or they are intended.

I contacted LegalMatch and they recommended to me a "lawyer" Mr. Ronald Rossi. He asked me money in advance , he told me that he has plenty experience etc ,also he placed his bank account etc. this "lawyer" his email website is empty.I cannot find any references of this "attorney" All this is FAKE ...AVOID LegalMatch otherwise you will lose time and money

I am an attorney that made the Very bad mistake of signing up with LegalMatch.com. I was assured that they had several cases waiting and it would be worth signing up to get them. The greater majority of the cases sent have nothing to do with my area of practice, which is bankruptcy. I am being sent Real Estate, Civil, Wills and Trust issues, Probate, as examples. It might be okay if you could try it, and if it did not work you could get out. But, to get out you have to BUY your way out. There is also a "auto renew" which you have to jump through hoops to get cancelled. From my experience LegalMatch.com is a horrible investment you cannot escape from once in. I have been in it since October, 2023 and am losing money.

I went to Julie Negovan for help with a start up in the sport/leisure industry. Julie was quite frankly, totally amazing. She not only resolved the issue about which I consulted her in record time, but she also identified 3 areas where we were potentially exposed. She came up with an excellent solution. I am delighted to give Julie Negovan the strongest recommendation.
