I’m sorry to hear you’ve had a bad purchasing experience but unfortunately I think you may have the wrong end of the stick?

Latest Deals is a community platform where people share the deals they find with each other.

We do not sell anything ourselves.

We just allow our members to share, for example, a deal at Argos or Amazon on our platform. People then can vote it good or bad. When you click on a deal you get redirected to the retailer’s website.

You’ll need to reach out to the retailer directly who will hopefully be able to assist. If they aren’t responding, we often recommend getting in touch with your bank as you may be able to reverse the payment.

Latest Deals has a review section where you can leave feedback on a specific retailer to help others make future purchasing decisions (and if a retailer has consistently bad reviews we can take steps to block it from being shared on our platform).

Not the most generous for loyal members

They have changed the way they award points for the purpose of commenting, by having AI decide what points to allocate. In effect, my usual points would have been 100, and today I received 58. Considering it takes me three months to convert points, although I complete most tasks daily, it's not nice to say the least. I did make the comment, but it appears to have fallen on deaf ears. Thank you for your response and it should be noted that my last review was top notch and didn't receive a response! In addition, what is clear from the new system is that you have reduced the allocation of points, whichever way you look at things.

I'm sorry to hear you don't like the recent (still in testing & development) changes to the commenting system.

We made the changes on Friday afternoon and outlined our rationale here - https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/chat/new-points-comments in detail. We hopefully highlighted that this is an early, test version and lots of changes will be made. We also encouraged member feedback.

We worked over the weekend to continue to tweak the system. Our team replied to a lot of feedback in the chat topic above but apologise if you felt your concerns weren't addressed. We typically offer support Monday-Friday. First thing today (Monday) and I'm trying to hoover up all the great feedback from LD members so we can continue to try and improve the system.

I've personally replied to all the reviews you've left on TrustPilot and do feel perhaps it's a bit unfair to characterise that your comments have "fallen on deaf ears" given the timelines we're talking about over the weekend. Nevertheless - ultimately - our goal is always the same and it's to create an environment at Latest Deals that supports and rewards it's members for contributions that help the community.

Thanks again for your feedback and, whilst it was perhaps a little tricky to hear, we do value it and will take it into consideration with our the point system for commenting continues to develop.

The offers are not always the best

The offers are not always the best I have seen them cheaper elsewhere some of the prices are not the original price🤔

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review.

Latest Deals is a community website where people share the deals they've found with each other. It's then up to the community to rate them good or bad, with the popular deals rising to the top of the homepage.

This helps unearth some real hidden gems that may otherwise go undiscovered.

A potential downside of this is that it isn't "real time". Sometimes deals on Latest Deals can expire, and we rely on member reports that they're no longer available or the price has increased so we can take them down. We reward members with points for helping out like this 👍

Other times there may just be another retailer who sells it for less. In these instances, we always encourage members to drop a comment on the deal sharing the cheaper alternative or, if they wanted to earn some points (that can be converted into gift cards) we ask that they share the cheaper deal on Latest Deals themselves for the benefit of the community.

I hope that explanation provides a bit more context and helps explain how Latest Deals works and why you might find some great deals but occasionally stumble across a deal with the wrong price or an out of stock product.

Second attempt. Same result.

Second attempt at joining after a poor experience some time ago.

Exactly the same issue; I signed up and tried to post a deal but was immediately told that I was a "sharing machine."

Comically, their chatbot support service informed me that it didn't understand the term "sharing machine." Well no, me neither buddy.

After emailing them, I received a generic cut/paste response informing me that my account was passed for manual review and that I wasn't approved. No further explanation whatsoever.

It seems scammy to me. I certainly won't be trying a third time.

Apologies for the late reply here. I'm sorry to hear you're still having trouble accessing Latest Deals.

We have various systems in place to try and prevent spam and/or bot accounts joining Latest Deals. Unfortunately, these are not infallible and do sometimes make mistakes. Please do (as per my previous reply to your last review) ask for your support email to be forwarded to me (Kelsey) so that I can look into this in more detail. We have automated systems to detect potential issues, then a checklist of steps that our support team work through but - even then - we do mess things up sometimes. If you ask for your query to be forwarded to me I'm very happy to manually investigate with the additional tools are my disposal but unfortunately cannot do this without details of your LD username.

Sorry again that you had a (second) frustrating experience trying to create a Latest Deals account.

Great bargains and great jokes!!

I receive a daily email and find it really useful. I've bought several items which were very good bargains I have to say. They also seem to use reputable companies so I don't worry about anything untoward happening. And they do a great joke at the end of the email which makes me laugh out loud regularly. Not only a bargain to be had but free therapy also!!!

Poor recommendations

Based on deal recommendations, I bought a moissanite adjustable bracelet. It absolutely was not moissanite - not even cz, just glass stones. Not worth the cost of sending it back.

Tried to redeem a code for 50% off a healthcare product (and yes I did go through the link and added the code) but it didn't work. I was using it on the day the newsletter was emailed to me.

I'm really sorry to hear a deal you bought didn't live up to expectations.

Latest Deals is a community site where people share the deals they've found each with each other. Members can vote them good or bad, with the best rising to the top of the homepage. Whilst this is a great way to find genuine deals recommended by real people, it unfortunately isn't a guarantee as to the quality of a product or the reputation of a retailer.

We encourage members to leave comments on deal posts (good or bad) about their experiences to help others. We also have an open review system for retailers (a bit like TrustPIlot) so that members can share their experiences to help shape future members shopping decisions.

It sounds like you didn't think it worth the effort in this instance, but do do always recommend that people each out directly to the retailer with any issues. If we receive feedback that a retailer is behaving poorly then we can take steps to block their deals from being shared on Latest Deals.

Because of the community nature of Latest Deals, our offers & vouchers aren't "real time" and do unfortunately sometimes expire before we get the chance to remove them. If that ever happens we encourage people to report the post as "expired" so that we can take it down. To say thanks, we give members points for this which can be converted into gift cards.

I hope that helps explain a bit more about how Latest Deals works and why, in part, you may have had the experience you did.

Regardless, I am sorry it wasn't the experience I'd like members of Latest Deals to have. We're always trying to devise new ways to make sure the offers listed are still active & live and remove them as soon as possible. We'll continue to try and improve this.

We have various guidelines for sharing deals to try and ensure Latest Deals is as helpful as possible for everyone. We do our best to clearly communicate if something needs to be tweaked to meet these guidelines. We do however make mistakes and I apologise in advance if this is an occasion where we've messed up!
