At Lapa.shop, we are never against our clients communicating directly with breeders — for many people, this brings extra confidence and peace of mind. However, as this situation unfortunately showed, direct communication does not always lead to the best experience. While our managers are trained professionals who work with care, respect, and empathy, breeders are different people, and sadly, not all of them communicate appropriately.

We want you to know that we took your message very seriously. After reviewing the situation, we applied sanctions to the breeder who behaved unprofessionally toward you. As a result, she is no longer allowed to sell kittens on the Lapa platform. The well-being of our clients — both human and furry — and respectful communication are non‑negotiable standards for us.

Thank you sincerely for your understanding and for recognizing the efforts of our manager Olga, who reacted promptly and did everything possible to resolve the situation in a calm and supportive way. We are grateful that, despite the unpleasant experience with the breeder, you felt supported and cared for by our team.

Thank you for taking the time to share your opinion — I am genuinely sorry that our short conversation left you with such a negative impression of our service. However, first of all, I would like to point out that you did not become our customer and did not actually use our service, in order to have a real basis to evaluate it. That is why we see this review not as an assessment of our service, but as your emotional reaction to the fact that you did not get what you wanted.

Let me clarify a few important points as to why this happened, both for you and for everyone reading this review.

Regarding direct contact with the breeder.
All our buyers do receive direct contact with the breeder when they want to clarify additional details about the puppy or arrange a live video call. This is confirmed by many customers who spoke with their breeders before purchase and often keep in touch after the puppy moves to its new home.
However, before we connect a potential buyer with a breeder, we first explain the basic conditions of purchase through our service, so that everyone understands in advance how the process works (documents, timelines, responsibilities). This protects both sides and keeps communication organised and transparent.

Regarding transport and self pick-up.
In your messages you insisted on organising the transport yourself and picking up the puppy on your own. We fully understand the wish to pick up a puppy personally. But we explained that this particular puppy is located in Ukraine. For your information, Ukraine is not part of the European Union. Therefore, the procedure for transporting animals is very different from moving a pet between two EU countries and requires additional time, preparation and documents. The animal must receive a rabies vaccination, then after a certain period a laboratory blood test for rabies antibodies must be done, and a three-month waiting period after the vaccination must be observed.

Our professional pet couriers run this route regularly, work with the required systems and documents, and handle the checkpoints correctly — that’s why, in practice, they can usually complete everything safely within a short timeline. When the journey is organised entirely by a private person, it often takes significantly longer and we cannot supervise or take responsibility for steps on the buyer’s side. We prefer to be transparent about this from the outset.

By the way, we act only as the sales side and do not carry out animal transport ourselves. So it is unfounded to accuse us of wanting to earn money on transport. This is not our business. Here it is only about animal welfare, compliance with legislation and international pet transport rules, and clear responsibility. If someone decides to travel and import a dog from Ukraine completely on their own, we simply cannot control the process or guarantee that everything will be done correctly on their side — and we are honest about this from the very beginning.

We admit our fault only in the fact that our sales manager made a mistake in communication and did not clearly enough explain to you all the nuances of how we work and the EU regulations on importing animals into Europe from a non-EU country. But the hundred of positive reviews left by our satisfied clients before you clearly show that our company is neither “shitty” nor “highly dubious”. Your case is a rare exception to the rule.

We wish you all the best in finding the right puppy for your family. If at any point you feel comfortable with the way we work — including the staged introduction to the breeder and the use of a professional courier when required — we’ll be glad to help in a transparent and professional way.
