I'm not recommend this bank I really wanted to give them a good go but they are known for blocking payments for no reason and then leaving you stuck when you need to send the money somewhere because they lock the balance you don't get the money and you can't use it on the account either extremely unacceptable.
This review is genuine if Kroo keeps abusing the removal system you will be reported.
Great company. Loan procedure was extremely quick as was the payout to my bank.

I had no idea my money was not safe and always transfer my wages from Halifax to Kroo account to benefit from the interest rate.
Out of nowhere, I can’t use my card and I don’t have a single penny in my other account. I have a tax bill due, a holiday needs to be paid in full and both are due in the next week. I’ve read horror stories of Kroo withholding money for months and I am terrified.

Opened account and applied for loan. Very quick and easy process. Once approved money was added to account in a matter of seconds. Go to spend the money and had a restriction put on the account. No explanation why, multiple it could be because of x, y or z. This was days ago. Have not been asked for any more information, which was one of the potential reasons that had been given. I asked for a timescale for it to be resolved and was basically told there isn't one. Interest being added daily to the loan on the account which is unreasonable seeing as I dont actually have access to the money yet.
Unless resolved very, very soon with a decent explanation, I will be cancelling the loan and advising anyone and everyone to avoid.

If you’re looking for a bank that actually protects its customers when things go wrong, keep looking. Kroo is a "fair-weather" bank—perfectly fine while they’re taking your deposits and tour subscription fees but utterly useless the second you’re a victim of a blatant contract breach.
I am currently dealing with a situation where Drivalia openly and freely admitted—while being recorded—that they were breaking their contract with me. Despite having a literal recording of the merchant confessing to the violation, Kroo has left me "holding the bag" for over three weeks.
While any competent high-street or digital bank would have a clear-cut case like this sorted in days, Kroo’s "support" consists of:
Endless stalling: Taking weeks just to consider referring the matter to Mastercard.
Total indifference: Zero urgency or recognition that for a disabled customer, having funds tied up due to merchant fraud/breach isn't just an "inconvenience"—it’s a crisis.
Zero Protection: They hide behind "internal processes" while you’re out of pocket for hundreds of pounds, despite the evidence being handed to them on a silver platter.
It is shameful. Being a digital-first bank is no excuse for being bottom-of-the-barrel when it comes to fraud and dispute resolution. If you value your financial security—especially if you have additional accessibility needs or vulnerabilities—do not trust Kroo.
They will leave you stranded exactly when you need them most.
Update: Kroo have said in their reply that they have attempted to reach out via trustpilot and they are right, they have. But thats interesting. Somehow they can respond within hours when challenged publicly, yet seem incapable of dealing with things like chargebacks for weeks and weeks and don't respond when messaged. Maybe some of the staff watching their social media should be retasked to dealing with customers rather than trying to hide how bad their service is. 10 people in the back office and major delays but 100 watching trustpilot. Says it all really. We are now over 3 weeks since they were given all the evidence by the way folks.

Wife and I have been with Kroo for 3 years and I have previously complained about payments being delayed and needing security clearance for no apparent reason like transferring between own accounts elsewhere that have been done before without problem. Well this week they blocked a payment INTO wife's account form her own own building society. Gave the option of cancelling the payment IN or waiting for security checks answering more questions. We use a few banks and have never had this hassle for payment coming IN from other accounts in our OWN names. NOT HAPPY.

Very bad bank, stay away. Blocked my funds for 2 months, direct debits cancelled my credit score gone down because of them. Very rude staff. Tranfsers often get in review for hrs asking so many irrelevant questions.
