When Custom Boxes Become Custom…
When Custom Boxes Become Custom Nightmares
What should have been a simple purchase of custom boxes for an international move turned into a weeks-long ordeal that left me scrambling at the eleventh hour.
I ordered precisely measured moving boxes from Kartox, paying a premium (€420.99) specifically to ensure they would meet airline requirements for my international relocation. When the boxes finally arrived—four days later than promised—they exceeded the measurements by a critical 4cm, making them unusable for air travel without significant modification.
The company's response? A masterclass in customer service failure. First came denial, then delay tactics, followed by the absurd suggestion that I should cut and modify the premium boxes myself (defeating the entire purpose of ordering custom boxes).
Despite providing photographic evidence and explaining the time-sensitive nature of my situation (my flight was just days away), Kartox representatives strung me along with vague promises about "testing" while the clock ticked relentlessly toward my departure date.
When they finally acknowledged the measurement discrepancy, they refused both replacement and refund—essentially telling me that their 400% deviation from stated tolerances was somehow my problem to solve.
I ended up having to manually modify nine large boxes myself, compromising their structural integrity and wasting precious packing time during an already stressful international move.
Save yourself the headache and find a company that stands behind their products. Kartox certainly doesn't.
