COMEDY OF ERRORS

Twice I was given dates from this company for the fitters to arrive and they did not and I was the one to make contact to ask what was going on?
Twice the fitters did arrive without me being informed that this was to take place, kind of crazy to me considering the team had a 5hr drive up to Scotland where I live, the second time I was going out the door when they come, had they just been a few minutes later I would have been gone, added to that the team had not been given my phone number?
So the first time the fitters arrived on the 6/11 2 days after my first appointment which was the 4/11, this was to fit a back up battery to my existing Solar system there was a part missing from the new fitting kit, makes you wonder why this was not checked considering the 5hr drive they had to get to me? so they did 90% of what had to be done, to then say they will be back next week to complete this, this did not happen and it was 3 weeks later they were to come back, however for the second time they never did arrive on the day of that appointment, when I made contact on the afternoon of that day they lied to me saying they had tried to call me but there was no missed calls on my phone, once again they did arrive unannounced the following week just as I was going out the door.

I can now see it would have made much more sense for me to have gone with a Scottish company more local to me, the small cost saving I was to get with IR was not worth the hassle I was to get from them.

We did send email confirmations on both occasions confirming the booked installation dates. While one of these dates did later change, this was communicated by email weeks in advance of the revised install date.

We own and operate our own warehouses and directly employ our warehouse staff. All equipment is quality controlled as it comes in and out. Unfortunately, on this occasion, a cable was missing from the manufacturer’s supplied kit and this was not identified prior to dispatch. We continue to invest heavily in software, processes, and staffing to minimise issues like this. Most importantly, when something does go wrong, we always return to put it right.

As discussed during our multiple phone conversations, I’m pleased that the installation is now working exactly as sold, completed neatly and to a high standard. I am also confident that should you experience any issues in the future, our support team will respond quickly to resolve them. I also look forward to you moving onto the cheaper night rate we discussed, which will help increase your overall savings further.

It was genuinely a pleasure speaking with you on the phone, and we hope that now the system is fully complete and supported by our in-house team, we can rebuild your confidence and hopefully see this reflected in an updated review.

I had a fantastic team of electricians…

I had a fantastic team of electricians connecting new Solar Batteries even, coming back to finish off as promised. They did a great job and properly done, no short cuts. Any questions asked gets answered honestly and properly straight away. I give them more than 5 stars. I recommend these lads 100% for any electrical job, I can't thank them enough. It doesn't matter if a job is too big or small or how long it takes. It gets done safely and properly.

Infinity were fantastic

Infinity are a wonderful team that came up with a great plan for solar and batteries for us. From our first contact with Brad who was so helpful, to our meeting with their knowledgeable and very helpful surveyer we knew we were in good hands. The scaffolding people were quick and efficient. The actual electrical installation by Andy and his son went way beyond the call of duty, working into the late evening they were very friendly, professional and dedicated. Zak who mounted the solar panels on our roof was professional and cheery and spent 2 days in atrocious wet and cold weather to finish the job late into the night. What a really great team. We had another company that gave us mostly negative news plus 2 others that didn't even bother to quote. Ours was not a straightforward installation - we have lots of roofs, awkward extensions and bad orientation but all Infinity people did an absolutely splendid job. I can't recommend them more highly. Poor workmanship & lack of attention to detail

My experience with Infinity Renewables has been consistently disappointing.

The most serious issue was the original installation, which was carried out to a substandard level and required a complete refit. Tiles were broken, wiring and conduit were left untidy, and the work appeared rushed. Even after the refit, issues remained: my roof was left with slipped tiles and daylight visible through the loft, and the backup system wasn’t commissioned correctly.

I also discovered errors in my contract and EPVS validation paperwork. When I provided feedback through EPVS, I received an inappropriate text message from a member of staff, which I found unprofessional.

Another serious issue was the incorrect commissioning documentation submitted to the DNO. For several weeks I was told this could not be changed, and only after escalating through the finance company, MCS, and EPVS and issuing a formal 7-day letter did Infinity Renewables resolve it.

To their credit, the company returned to repair my roof on 22/08/2025 and again on 30/09/2025, and they provided two additional solar panels and a half-price battery as compensation.

I gave them a draft of this review, I was contacted directly by James at Infinity Renewables who assured me that my experience had been taken seriously, that staff training had been implemented, and that I would have him as my direct escalation route for any future concerns.

Unfortunately, since then I have experienced further documentation errors, and the promised escalation contact from James has been unavailable and unresponsive. Despite assurances of improvement, the same issues with accuracy, communication, and accountability continue to recur.

My confidence in the company has therefore declined further. While they eventually resolved some of the earlier problems, the repeated mistakes and lack of reliable aftercare demonstrate that the underlying issues have not been properly addressed.

15/12/25 - The paragraph claiming you couldn't carry out the work safely in a day isn't true.

Your roof man had a party to attend that evening and rushed the job. The photos he showed us were deliberately cropped not to show the 6 broken tiles and the two that were left insecure. I only discovered this because my neighbour took pictures with his drone!

Your electrician didn't connect the earth wire for the system and left it dangling behind the bush.

You're right, we did have a long conversation about the job and you agreed to be my point of contact, the most recent contact was another paperwork error which I had to chase to get an answer - but as long as you were 'monitoring' the situation that was ok - I expected you to be all over that and negate the need for me to chase for a response.

I had agreed to give you 2 stars as you were going to be my dedicated point of contact, you let me down and I found myself chasing once again, hence reverting to the one star that I was originally leaving.

A premium system is only one half of the job, the most important next step is aftercare, once again you have fallen short.

I am not sure what has changed since our conversation, as I have personally been monitoring your case closely and can see that no communications have been missed. Every message sent to our team has been replied to, and all issues raised have been actively addressed.

I will respond to your points in turn.

Regarding the original installation: I understand your frustration if the system had been installed poorly and left unresolved. However, that was not the case. During the installation it became clear that the work could not be completed safely within a single day, so a further visit was scheduled to allow the job to be finished correctly. Slate roofs are extremely complex to work on, which is why many installers will not undertake them. We returned promptly to complete and rectify the work using only our in-house team, with no subcontracting. The job was finished properly and swiftly.

In relation to errors in contract and EPVS paperwork, we voluntarily pay EPVS to audit our jobs. This is not a requirement but a decision we make to maintain higher standards. The purpose of this process is to identify and correct issues. Errors identified through independent auditing indicate quality control, not neglect.

You mentioned receiving an inappropriate text message from a member of staff. As discussed on the phone, while the wording was not ideal, the message was not abusive or threatening. That individual is no longer with the company as part of our efforts to maintain professional standards.

For clarity, the message read:

“Hi Paul,
I’ve just received notification of the feedback given. I’m sorry you feel it wasn’t the most positive experience. However, I have not ignored any contact you have sent. We were corresponding via iMessage, and Natalie, our office administrator, was CC’d on the email. I feel it is unfair to say I have been completely ignoring you.
Again, I apologise that you feel our service wasn’t up to scratch.”

Regarding the DNO commissioning documentation, the issue related to the recorded location of an isolator. The network operator initially advised this was not a regulatory issue and declined to amend it. Despite this, we continued to push for the change and succeeded. You were kept informed throughout. This was an administrative matter, not a safety or performance issue.

You also acknowledged that we returned to your property on 22/08/2025 and again on 30/09/2025 to carry out further roof works, and that we provided two additional solar panels and a battery at half price as compensation. These actions demonstrate accountability and aftercare.

Regarding the later documentation issue, the MPAN details supplied via the database we use were incorrect. As soon as this was identified, it was corrected. We have since expanded our DNO administration team to reduce the likelihood of recurrence. Typical MCS and DNO processing times are 4 to 6 weeks. Your case took approximately 7 weeks, much of which was outside our direct control.

We had an extended phone call, followed by email correspondence, during which I confirmed receipt of all documentation and outlined internal process improvements. I also monitored your account personally and can see that all emails sent to our technical team were replied to promptly. You also spoke directly with both Managing Directors, including on weekends, and our installation team returned to site quickly when required.

A one star review would usually indicate that a system does not work, damage was caused without resolution, or a customer was ignored. In your case, you have a fully operational, premium solar system that has received extensive follow-up work, rapid responses, and compensation where appropriate.

While I respect your right to share your experience, I do not believe a one star rating accurately reflects the outcome, effort, or level of aftercare provided.

Installation great, and issues sorted.

Installation went fairly straightforward the only issue was connecting the Hive. As the Hive is fairly new it took a couple of visits to sort. Infinity sorted without question and in the end it was simply a software issue/update.
Infinity responded to all issues quickly and professionally. All projects have some unforeseen issues it is how these issues are dealt with is what’s important.

extremely pleased

We were extremely pleased with the installation. Rob, Max and Jake were superb. They did everything to explain and more importantly make sure we were happy with the installation. The installation was clearly 5 star plus.
We have only needed to contact Infinity once but we felt this was also 5 star.
We intended to go ahead with the installation, unless the cost and pay back were prohibitive. We say this as, seeing other reviews I fully understand the comment on the pay back methodology ( as someone who did such calculations for a living). The battery cost was not included in the pay back which may be significant for some people. We also thought the signature side of the contract was a little lose.

Let down by inadequate employee training

We were initially very impressed with Infinity. They were thorough, responsive and knowledgable. We signed our proposal but then the surveyor never turned up. After chasing, we were informed the advisor we had been with had been let go that day. The survey was rebooked and then we were asked to confirm the details of our proposal.
We had signed for a 60 month finance at 0% but were informed this was not an option.
After showing proof that that was what we had been offered, we were told ‘agree to the new terms, cancel or we will cancel from our side’.
At which point we said ‘please show us where your right to withdraw is’.
This was never answered. All we received was a message to say the finance option simply does not exist. Ultimately that is their mistake, not ours.

We had budgeted everything extremely carefully and the impact of the new finance terms puts us in a bad spot financially. We also passed on our recent ‘Solar Together’ proposal, thinking Infinity’s terms were more favourable.

It now seems we are back at square one.

We are sure, if things run smoothly, Infinity are fine but please beware if problems arise they are quick to weasel out of any responsibility. Not a company to trust thousands of pounds. They certainly don’t have customers at their heart. Please be careful.

UPDATE Dec 25 - Following this review, we were immediately contacted by James who did a fantastic job rectifying the situation. He kept us updated on what was happening and the contract we signed was honoured. We decided not to go ahead on the basis that the trust just isn't there anymore and it took a bad review to be taken seriously but all credit to James for acknowledging the situation and being so proactive fixing it. He has assured us that training will be put in place so that advisors in the future are familiar with just what signing a contract means and all finance deals offered do actually exist!

I want to reiterate my sincere apology for the experience you had initially. What happened was not acceptable, and you were right to challenge it. A signed contract must be honoured, and in this case the information provided to you was incorrect. That responsibility sits with us.

As you mentioned, I did step in as soon as this was brought to my attention. The contract you signed was honoured, and I worked to ensure the situation was corrected as quickly and transparently as possible. I fully understand, however, why the loss of trust meant you ultimately chose not to proceed, and I respect that decision.

I also want to be clear that the advisor involved is no longer with the business, and we have already implemented additional checks and training to ensure this situation cannot happen again. Finance options must be accurate, available, and fully understood before anything is offered or signed. Anything less is not good enough.

While I am disappointed we could not move forward together, I do genuinely appreciate you highlighting this. Feedback like yours has directly driven changes internally, and that is important to me personally.

very mixed bag

Good things - every one who came to the house was very polite and did a great job of installing my solar panels and battery. They kept me informed of what they were doing and everything is working well so far.

Bad things - the people arranging the work in their office don't seem to know their a*** from their elbow. Due to admin error the notes and photos taken by the surveyor who visited the property never made it onto my record so no-one seemed to know what was going on. As far as I can tell this was never corrected so who knows what issues that may cause in the future. They employed a local scaffolder to put up the required access but didn't give him the right information resulting in the scaffold not being correct and the install being delayed. They also did not seem to understand the concept of someone having a job that means I can't be at home all hours of the day or night just in case the scaffolders turned up. I asked repeatedly for the scaffolding install to be booked in advance which was not done so they ended up having to install the scaffold on the day of install. At one point one person in their office suggested I leave the door to my house unlocked while I went to work to allow the scaffolders to gain access in my absence. Not sure where they live but that is definitely not recommended here and would not be covered by my home insurance so that would be a NO!

Unfortunately the office team are really letting down the whole company.

I am genuinely sorry for the issues you experienced with the office communication. After reviewing your case, I can confirm that a brand new surveyor who had just completed training uploaded the incorrect photos and notes to your record. This caused the confusion you described and forced us to rearrange elements of the installation at short notice. This situation should have been identified and corrected sooner and I apologise that it impacted your experience.

The scaffolding delay and lack of advance notice also should not have happened. We fully understand that customers cannot always be available at unpredictable times and we should have arranged this with you properly. I also want to reassure you that we would never expect a customer to leave their home unsecured. That suggestion was inappropriate and does not reflect our processes.

Although the installation itself went well, the administrative errors understandably caused frustration. Your feedback has been used directly in our internal training to ensure survey information is checked more thoroughly before booking and that communication from our office team is clearer and more consistent going forward.

We had 17 Panels and 20Kwh Bexie…

We had 17 Panels and 20Kwh Bexie batteries installed on 13-14 of October. Chris the electrician and Alex the roofer were brilliant Ben from the companies social media team was also onsite for both days of the installation. Due to irregular installation they really needed a 3rd person on the installation which would have helped Chris and Alex.
Installation:
It was hard work for the boys but they worked hard and got the job done.
Activation and Instruction:
This went well Chris explained the system to myself and the wife.
The System: Bexie 6kw inverter and 4 5kwh Bexie batteries these units are well designed and very compact good to know that they have a fire suppression system built in.
The Island for of grid capacity: BEWARE this is a large unit which goes near to your consumer unit.
The Downside: The Solarman App.
What a terrible app it only gives you the most basic of information on your system performance.
Hopefully Bexie will release their own app which is in Beta testing very soon as we both feel that this is letting the system down and not allowing us to utilise the best performance.
The Process: From first phone call to Rudi completing the survey and agreeing on an installation date went without problem. After asking Rudi many many questions we felt that this was company this we felt could be trusted.
Technical Support: I have phoned support a few times asking about further details on setting the charge and discharge of the batteries to the grid. I feel that if I need them they are there only a phone call away.
Infinity Renewables Overall:
A family run company which we have been delighted to work with on our system. Yes we will be purchasing more items from in the future.
Last thing. Bexie sort your app out PLEASE!!

This is a well run company full of…

This is a well run company full of motivated people who understand customer service. We had numerous questions before the installation which were all answered mainly by Connor and also by Lydia.
Installation was on time and quick. Jordan, Chris and Jordan (the installers) were all very polite and friendly. The batteries and inverter were tidily installed in our utility room. They all seem to love their jobs and take pride in what they do.
Scaffolding arrived on Wed and installation was on Friday.

I'd like to give a shout out to…

I'd like to give a shout out to Infinity Renewables and all the staff, particularly Andrew and Lewis, who repaired my solar system and installed a battery. They worked all day with care and professionalism,
explaining procedures, showing me phone pictures and helping me to set up Solartouch on my phone. They were very respectful and left the house clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend Infinity Renewables.

Zac & Naz (SIG roofing) attended for fixing the pigeon protectors on the solar panels. Very efficient and what a breath of fresh air - always smiling and going out of the way to do some extra work without making me feel obligated. Genuine people - rare in this day and age.

We should like to say how pleased we…

We should like to say how pleased we are with the entire installation process of our solar panel system.

The installation engineers were courteous, knowledgeable and extremely professional. They installed the system in a very efficient manner and ensured that we understood the essential points of the operation of the system, before they left.

Reece explained and applied the initial app set up operation for us and Craig and Mark explained the next steps and provided all of the information we needed.

They left everything clean and tidy so that no cleaning was necessary for us - absolutely superb

Excellent customer service

I recently had a couple of technical issues with the Apps and Battery performance. I spoke with Georgia and Jake over a few days and their professional and personal approach was amazing, taking ownership of the issues and taking time to run through everything and finding solutions.
Customer service from any company is important and Infinity, through Jake and Georgia excelled.

Very pleased with the installation

We were bumped up the queue so ended up getting the install a week earlier than expected (by agreement of course) and this coincided with the scheduled electrician going sick. Now you would normally be expecting this to be a recipe for disaster (well I was) but on the contrary the install still went (almost) as smooth as silk. Al and JIm turned up on the day and had the panels, roof wiring and bird netting in place in no time flat and had everything tidied and dusted down. On the way out they explained the electrics will be later (yeah, I've heard this all before from Contractors). Low and behold on Saturday morning Rob is standing on our doorstep at 9am introducing himself as our Infinity electrician. By Saturday afternoon we were online and, although we still need the certificates to export, we were using free electricity from our panels (well not quite as we still have to pay for the install but in a few years it will be free). The guys were courteous, kept the place clean and tidy and (as a retired engineer in the construction industry) I considered the quality of the completed installation to be excellent. So for me it is 10/10.
