Buyer Beware - Hubbl cancels Services - NO REFUNDS!
Hubbl has told me that from 8 January 2026, my Netflix will no longer be billed by Hubbl.
I have a gift card with Hubbl and it was being used to pay for Netflix. Hubbl reps refuse to refund the gift card or transfer it to whoever runs Netflix.
Having now read previous reviews of Hubbl, buyer beware!!
Do not get a Hubbl
Do not get a Hubbl, the product lasted a week before I started having issues and the customer service process is a joke. It is all handled by email and you just keep going back and forward with no resolution. No refund was offered unless I took a video of the fault. Why would I waste my time with 10 plus emails and trying to get it working and then have to prove it to them with a video? Surely when you go through a process like this for a device you have had for 2 weeks they would simply exchange it. I have placed it in the bin where it belongs. They should focus on Binge and Kayo and leave hardware to others. It was originally sold as a way to consolidate streaming devices for discounts but I believe this is no longer offered. They allow free to air TV to be integrated but this is quite clunky. Nothing good to say about it.
Hubbl and Kayo are a scam do not use
As with the other reviewers I have been charged after cancelling the subscription to Kayo for their $1 promotion. The screen confirmed it with my kayo subscription stopping. But I saw a charge a few days later and on relogging into the hubbl account the kayo account subscription had miracously been reactivated. Customer service (via their app) deny it even though I did not stream after the date I had originally cancelled. I asked for the records of my account log in and activity and they wouldn't provide it. Clearly they know that they can get away with this behavior.
Request for cancellation ignoref
I cancelled my sibscriprion 2 months ago and hubbl still charge me with the $30/ month. I wsnt a refund pls.
Most disgraceful app ever !!!!…
This Hubbl is the worst ever app I've ever had to deal with
You can't ever change any aspect of this damn site , because it inevitably comes up as Merchant Error, it's the most frustrating bloody app/site whatever
Unfortunately to get sport , you cant use anything else, even foxtel is connected to it
Absolute Disgrace & the powers that be need to look into this shame of a site
If I could give a minus, I definitely would
If I could give it 0 stars I would
If I could give it 0 stars I would. Just trying to change my payment details. Keep getting the same answers. I have done everything but the problem is at their end. Hours wasted. Probably just let my subscribtion run out. Pathetic service
Another Hubbl Poor Review (But they Don't Listen)
Reading other reviews, I wonder if it is even worthwhile writing this review - other than provide another poor rating. I usually use the app but I sometimes "attempt" to access via the browser. I say attempt because every time I try to do that, the site tries to force me to resubscribe
I will say that the customer service people in the front line - they try to help but they are working against a platform that is both the most expensive and the least value
I will add that at the end of my "help" chat, with my issue being that I cannot login - Hubbl come back with a message... "Now, what are you still doing here? There's 15,000+ hours of on demand match replays, shows & docos waiting for you at"
This is clearly a company that has no interest in providing a service and only an interest in collecting a subscription that is higher than any other platform in Australia and provides less content.
Just as an edit... I have read many poor reviews here about Hubbl. The next option is that we can all lodge complaints with the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman. I certainly will be
Absolutely Avoid! 000!
I wish that I could rate them a 0. Avoid Kayo, Binge, Hubble, stream motion, foxtel... whoever they are! The Kayo app is misleading, allowing you to believe that you've cancelled but you haven't. Trying to get in touch with Kayo/Hubbl/Binge is absolutely frustrating. Lodge a complaint online and there is no copy of your complaint forwarded to you. This corporation is dodgy. Refunds are not provided for any reason. They are not consumer friendly and do not care about your distress caused by an ongoing charge that you failed to pick up early enough. The customer is wrong as far as they're concerned.
My complaint is that they never cancelled my subscription when I demanded they did
My complaint is that I cancelled my service 2 months ago and have been billed $80 since then! Now I can't get you to refund me as even though the last deduction was 30mins ago. The fact your site doesn't allow me to cancel my personal details now is more proof that it is a complete scam! If it doesn't work now, it's no surprise it didn't cancel my subscription when I entered that form back in September! I'll be making a complaint to the ombudsman and to the telecommunications industry body. I'll be ripping hubbl and kayo apart on Google reviews and I'll never use or recommend your services to anyone!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS‼️‼️‼️
Have no idea how I was “automatically” added to this system while trying to watch AFL… now my binge account has been added to whatever tf Hubbl even is (I genuinely don’t even know how this happened) and I am now being charged $40 for a less than $20 subscription to Binge? Wtf? I have no idea how to cancel this I have been over and over this with the Online Chat team as well as the “escalated team” that keep trying to beat around the bush and ALL I WANT IS CONFIRMATION I WILL NOT BE CHARGED $40 for NO REASON any longer? This is such a scam I genuinely have no idea wtf Hubbl is - and their complete incompetence and “beating around the bush” with replies via email and chat makes it seem so suspicious. The fact you cannot “cancel” whatever Hubbl even IS - wtf. Please avoid at all costs!!!!!
UTTERLY DISGUSTED!
UTTERLY DISGUSTED!! I cancelled my subscription back in April and only discovered today that these crooks are still TAKING my money and wont refund unused MONTHS of subscription ! I haven't logged in since APRIL!! These people are basically CRIMINALS
Refused to cancel, stole my money
Going to the telecommunications ombudsman about this as they will steal your money and try to prevent cancellation. This is unacceptable, if I went to a cash register and helped myself to 10 bucks every month I would be in jail. I cancelled my subscription in February after one month with Binge through Hubbl. Not only did they never put through the cancellation, they kept charging me and I noticed this in September. When I attempted to cancel again, I got an email saying they would be in touch regarding the cancellation request as if this is at their discretion whether they want to stop stealing money from me. I never heard back from them and they stole another 10 bucks. I got in touch with the chat and I requested that he cancel my subscription and refund the money. He just lied to me and did not cancel my subscription, did not even attempt to refund the 10 dollars despite me having proof that I requested a cancellation 11 days before the debit. I even told him that I would be downloading the transcript in the event that I will have to go to the ombudsman and this ridiculous company clearly doesn't give a monkeys toss about the paper tiger ombudsman. Fortunately, I have the transcript and hopefully the blatant disregard for the ombudsman will annoy them and they'll do something about this scam. This is what we are dealing with today, corporations that will just thieve your money as part of their business strategy, factoring in the monetary slaps on the wrist every few years when they get a small fine. Ridiculous. Don't go near Hubbl with a 40 foot barge pole, you will just sign up to have your money stolen.
Cancelled subscription on the 23rd…
Cancelled subscription on the 23rd which was the last day of subscription but they still charged my account and won’t refund.
Sought assistance from customer support Jordy, no help.
Terrible.
Billed for a service I couldn't sign up…
Billed for a service I couldn't sign up for. When I had trouble with it - Hubbl wouldn't allow me to cancel through using their website. Even the operator was unhelpful. Got their in the end, but no refund could be issued. Stream motion was bad; Hubbl is worse. What a joke.
Dishonest and thieves
By far the most dishonest, frustrating company you’ll ever come across.
First of all, Hubbl/Kayo has the least user-friendly platform I’ve ever seen. It’s clunky, constantly freezes, lags, glitches, and to top it off, they make it near impossible to cancel your subscription. But you know what? I pushed on and still paid their ridiculous $40 a month.
On 14 August, I decided enough was enough and went to cancel. Just like so many other companies, they dangled an “offer you can’t refuse.” A pop-up came up after I clicked cancel saying I could get five months at $20 off. I took the offer, expecting to pay $10. The confirmation email I received clearly said my card would be charged $10 on 25 August.
When the 25th rolled around? Surprise, surprise — I was charged the full $30 without the discount applied. I assumed this was an honest mistake and contacted support. Instead of fixing it, their responses have been ludicrous. They refused to refund the overcharge and told me they were withdrawing the offer due to a “technical issue.” You can’t just retract an offer after charging me full price.
To make it worse, they completely contradict themselves. In one email they told me there was no evidence I’d ever signed up to the offer. In the very same breath, they told me to disregard the confirmation email I received and that they’d “remove the offer” from my account so I wouldn’t get confused. So which is it? Either I never got the offer, or you’re deleting evidence of it — you can’t have it both ways.
At this point, it’s not even about the money. It’s about the principle. Companies like this should not be able to gaslight customers, take their money under false pretences, and walk away with no accountability. I have already escalated this to the ACCC, and maybe I’ll get nothing out of it — but if more of us do, then companies like this won’t be able to stay in business much longer.
Cancelled, now Blocked
Cancelled my subscription and requested all my information to be scrubbed. Have now decided to try and re-join; but they have 'blocked' my number. Nowhere tells you how to get this reinstated or why the number is blocked.
I think it could be more improved like…
I think it could be more improved like with when your going on an app for example : Apple not everything shows like when trying to purchase a Film! It's a little disappointing fix this and where you can go to your library to see your purchased items overall please just impove this
OMG where even to start
OMG where even to start. Software doesn't work. Constant failures and glitchy apps. I paid for a 12 month subscription that Hubbl cancelled after 3 months, despite me replying to every request. The process for re-establishing my subscription (that they incorrectly removed) is ridiculous. After providing all my details and other info multiple times, I'm now to wait 5 business days before someone else will contact me for the next step. Customer service (while polite) are completely ineffective and can do nothing. AFL, NRL, Cricket Australia etc, your brands are being damaged by having any association with these muppets.
My Review of Hubbl 4k Hub OS ver 1.3
My Review of Hubbl 4k Hub OS ver 1.3, Build QS037.031.OOP, UI 2.9.11 I transitioned from standard Binge $18/month to basic Binge at $10/month as it provided the same channels as Foxtel that I was paying $78/month to Foxtel. Basic Binge is for 1 device up to 1080p and 5.1 Dolby atmos surround sound. Standard Binge is for 2 devices up to 4k resolution for a very limited number of shows and movies. I chose Hubbl 4k Hub $99 as it was 4k capable and the only device that had a 7 day TV guide for both the Foxtel channels and free to air channels. Hubbl 4k Hub is easy to setup and also has ability to set favourite channels and a Watch List feature that provides an easy way to watch TV shows on demand eliminating the need to have a record function for shows on the Foxtel channels. Initially I had many Hubbl issues including "Technical Fault with this program try again later" and failures to connect to the internet over ethernet cable on device startup. These issues occurred at least once every day. This required unplugging the Hubbl box to re-establish an internet connection. After much testing I eventually found both type of errors were due to Hubbl 4k Hub inability to change IP address after our personal mobile phones had taken the Hubbl IP address on multiple occasions when the Hubble box was simple switched off. The solution was to reserve the IP address in the DHCP settings of my TP Link Router by adding a new Reservation using the Hubbl MAC address and desired IP address within the specified DHCP pool. Most router's have this feature. After this fix the Hubbl hub connected noticably faster and connected to internet extremely reliably due to its fixed and permanent local IP address. Pity the Hubbl box does not allow you input manual network addresses like every other device including TVs, DVD, Media players and Foxtel. I believe this would allow even faster & more reliable Hubbl connections with a specified IP address, subnet mask, gateway and primary & secondary DNS. I found it very easy through Hubbl to change from a standard Binge to Basic Binge subscription and to also cancel my Lifestyle app subscription. For both changes I received immediate emails confirming the changes. However I did notice on the mobile phone it was not very intuitive the need to press "Review Order" then "Continue" then "Confirm" button after selecting the subscription to cancel (or choose edit) that may be reasons why some persons have difficulty cancelling. I also contacted Hubbl help several time's via the online chat with helpfull persons and each time received the info and fixes that I needed. One of the issues was we somehow ended up with 2 Hubbl accounts one with credit card and recent subscriptions and one without. The help desk arranged the transfer of my private mobile number to the active Hubbl account that fixed the issue. Another issue was my PIN did not work so help desk guided me through the process of resetting it.
Procedure to correct incorrect PIN: By default, your PIN will be the last four digits of the mobile number linked to your account unless you change it. Note: If the mobile number linked to your account is updated, the default PIN will not change. If your PIN isn't being accepted follow these steps: 1. On the mobile device you’re using to scan the QR code, visit Hubbl website to logout. 2. Unplug the Hubbl device from the power source. 3. Turn off the broadband modem. The modem must stay off until step 6 has been completed. 4. Connect the Hubbl device to power again. You'll see “No WiFi connection” on screen - scroll down and select Settings. 5. Select System Management, then Resets & Updates. 6. Select Factory Reset, then Continue. 7. Reconnect the broadband modem and follow the prompts on screen to set up the Hubbl device.
I have given all of the above issues as feedback to Hubbl. Another important element is that I do have an extremely reliable NBN network connection via Spintel with minimum speed of 50Mbps. Binge Standard 4k requires at least 25Mbps and Binge Basic 1080p at least 7.5Mbps so both resolutions are well and truly covered.
However it would have been an improvement to receive hard copy of instructions to reveal/understand the following features that in some cases match the Foxtel remote features:
Firmware updates are automatic within 24hrs of new release.
About Hubbl Hub Energy Saving mode: If there's been no activity on the Hubbl remote for 3 hours and 55 minutes, the Hubbl device will enter energy-saving mode and go into standby. You'll see a message appear on screen before the device enters energy-saving mode. To avoid this, just pick up the Hubbl remote. In line with Australian Energy Saving guidelines, it is not possible to disable energy-saving settings on Hubbl.
