This platform's contractors are unreliable and operate deceptively. They provide inaccurate leads, promising project sizes ranging from 30 to 56 units, and charge fees regardless of lead quality. Communication attempts all fail, resulting in dead lines or disconnected numbers. Invest your resources in more dependable options.

I sent a letter to HomeGuide yesterday. I hired Spencer off of your list to take down an old satellite dish, and paid him, but he couldn't finish and needed to come back. Never did!!!
I've sent him several text asking when he's going to return but haven't heard anything back.

Complete and total scam! wrong numbers, disconnected numbers, fake addresses. They steal!

I need a refund I didn't get what was promised to me and they took money and gave no services the clients was not accurate.

Home Guide is a scam, they send leads that are false.
I received 2 leads and non is real, in the leads they send the phone number of the client, but when I call, they never answer, or the phone is disconnected.
Be aware, do not trust this company.

SCAM LEADS DON'T SIGN UP AS A CONTRACTOR. We got charge $600 in leads and all the phone numbers where disconnected and none went through. Some addresses are non existent. We have used homeguide and it used to work the beginning of the year but idk what happened. I noticed in the past 3 months it's been total scam. Beware

Home Guide is a company, like Home Advisor, that somehow just started popping up in my inbox with "TRUSTED" leads to help me expand my profits. First of all, I never signed up with Home Guide. They bought my information from Home Advisor/Angie's List, except what they thought they could do is set up a profile using my public information then DEFAULT my profile to automatically charge me for leads they deemed "ideal", whether I actually spoke with the prospect or not Once, I was given a lead that I actually accepted, only to be given a phone number to someone who never answered or called me back, simply texted "I'll call you back". I was charged for that lead even though I never heard back from them! Home Guide, do better. If I walked into people's homes and snatched $50 off every customers dresser, I'd be out of work. Why aren't you?

Terrible system. Leads are not real. They are still charging me for bogus leads.
One address for Denver says "123 Sesime St."
Obviously doesnt know how to spell Sesame St.

HomeGuide advocates for unverified contractors and allows the so-call "pros" to use bogus reviews. We got scammed by a cabinet maker that HomeGuide listed as 5 stars. When we researched deeper, the vendor has multiple liens and lawsuits already filed against them for the same things they did to us! Stay away from HomeGuise, do not believe their reviews, and definitely do not engage with Alexander Grey Custom Cabinets. They are liars cheats and frauds.

This website is a total scam. I was referred to a painting company, SURFSIDE PAINTERS with owner Sergio Vara, through this website. This company is located in Boca Raton, Florida. This company is headed by a lying criminal who takes your money and ghosts you. SURFSIDE PAINTERS is incompetent and dishonest, and its owner Sergio Vara lied to me about the number of reviews he has online. NOTE that he is also a lead through Home Depot's Pro Referral Program. STAY AWAY FROM SURFSIDE PAINTERS in BOCA RATON, FLORIDA!! I hope Sergio goes down in flames along with his company.

I hired a contractor through Home Guide, Kutting Edge Renovation. Not only did the company take my $7,000 deposit, I never received a valid contact and never received my renovation. I am now suing the contractor, Jeremi Henderson.

Mike Jones of MJ pros took almost 6 months to complete my deck that stated on the contract should take one week. I heard every excuse possible for the delay. The gate has not worked properly since installation and Mr Jones has PROMISED me many many times that he would stop and repair or replace it but he never shows up.

They didn’t check providers information. They share your personal information with scammer that lie and theft your money. Do not trust your information to them!

I am ashamed to share that I fell for a scam. But to prevent others from being preyed upon, I have decided to set aside shame and share my recent experience with HomeGuide.com
On 7/12/22, I paid HomeGuide.com $73.30 for leads. When I noticed that the leads were bogus and leading to no-customer; 7/20/22, I contacted HomeGuide.com (805-410-5040) for a cancellation and a refund. “Robin Francis” told me that because the order was a recurring account, their system is unable to refund amounts less than $200, and that for them to be able to issue a refund, I need to purchase $200 of an e-bay gift card to be added to my Home Guide account balance to meet the required amount for a refund. I questioned the method of refund process over and over as I told him that the method was complex and unorthodox. I explained that I never had to go through this much hassle and strange loopholes to be refunded before at any other place. Further, I told him that refunds are usually instant. At some point, we got disconnected and he called me back from a different number 818-491-3573. I asked if this was a scam? He assured me it wasn’t. While I was still questioning him and doubting the legitimacy of such method, he told me to check my text messages and that he had just deposited $200 to my credit card and that it will take 4-5hours to show on my statement. I clicked over to check the message. It looked professional and sounded authentic as though it was a notification through a financial institute. He assured me the money was already credited to my card and that I was not losing any money to Home Guide. He wants to help me get refunded, he said. He instructed me to go to Target and purchase $200 worth of e-bay gift cards. He told me to gently scrash off the back side of the cards and read off the numbers to him. He said he would add the numbers to my Home Guide account balance then he would be able to refund me $273.30 After I read off the numbers to him, he told me to allow him 15minutes to process. He returned and told me that the numbers were defective and could not be processed; that I should go back to the store and purchase 2 more cards. I refused and began to yell at him to refund my money NOW! He hung up. I called back and “Mike Copin” took the call. “Copin” told me he’s the Supervisor. I shared with him my ordeal with “Robin Francis.” He told me he would look into the matter and then get back to me. “Copin” called me back and told me he saw that his company had charged $100 against my credit card at GAMESTOP online store and that they’ve cancelled the charge. (I was in shock to learn that while “Robin France” claimed to be helping me, he was shopping online with my card). “Copin” also told me that from his end, he could see that they have credited $200 to my credit card and that it will take 4-5hours to be visible on my statement. He assured me that I had not lost any money to Home Guide; as he blamed technology as root cause in the method they process refunds. Apparently, they are yet to catch up with technology, he appears to say. I told him should this turn out to be a scam, that I will go public about the experience. “Copin” told me it's within my right to do so and that they are reputable company and would not do anything to jeopardize the company. He assigned this SECURITY PIN #284447 to my account and told me if anyone calls me, I should ask the caller to verify the pin# on my account, and if the caller is unable to verify the pin#, I shouldn’t speak with them. I should speak with him only. He told me he can refund my $73.30 instantly, right now! But I need to go back to Target and purchase $150 disposable gift card then he would load the $73.30 on the card right away. I refused! I was now firmly convinced I was being scammed. Today is 7/28/2022. It’s now been 8days since this incident happened to me and still have not seen $200 that HomeGuide.com told me it credited to my card. Nor have I seen the $73.30 refund. I have reported this matter to my credit card company as fraud. Beware of this scam. Be safe!
