Horrendous company.
Ordered my first box. All fine until I realized I never received any confirmation of anything. So contacted them and they found my order, realised that I had spelled my email address wrong. Fixed that. Got confirmation. All good.
Delivery day arrived and no order came.
Went on to the chat to be told that my order "didn't manifest in the system". Funny as someone had been able to find my other a couple of days before this to change my email address. Money was refunded to my account before I could discuss anything. When I asked about an alternative delivery day or using the payment towards another week I was met with " we've already refunded you. There is nothing we can do". There was no apology, no offer to rectify. Just here's your money back now go away!! This did not resolve my problem though as I had no dinner groceries in for that week and my money that I could use towards them was tied in a refund that could take 5 working days to come back. So what was I to feed my family "not their problem".
Eventually I Got a call from the manager Ann, who was very apologetic and gave me a discount to use on the next box. Promising me profoundly that if I gave them another chance, she would personally oversee the order.
After some consideration, I placed an order and let her know as I was asked. I was assured the order was received and she would keep an eye!
Well guess what. Deliver day comes around and nothing arrived.
I pop on live chat to be told "the order didn't manifest in the system". Despite all the promised and assurances. Ann contacted me again and assured me this was being escalated higher up.
Two weeks now and then"higher up" have not been in touch. I've been informed they are reviewing what happened to my orders.
Not very comforting to know that they have that many issues to review that it's taking them 2 weeks to look at one!!
Long and the short is, AVOID THIS COMPANY at all costs. You will end up spending more money on take aways etc when your food doesn't arrive and more time on chats trying to sort things out when they go wrong. You will be met with rude, unhelpful and deceptive customer service and honestly, it's just not worth it.
I will be looking at Irish based company who may have customer service reps that actually understand what I am saying rather than reading from a script or sending copy and paste emails.

Hello Fresh was great during a busy spell at work. Recipes are quick and nutritious. So good to have homecooked meals full of veg without stress of the weekly shop and meal planning. Recipes still require cooking which was a lovely wind-down after a busy day, while still easy to make. Easy to sign up and cancel after busy times, would definitely recommend to anyone during a stressful work period or exam time. The first few weeks also work out well financially, ~€6 a meal which is probably same or less than I would usually spend on a weekly shop.

I love the recipes, easy to follow and all ingredients together. All ingredients fresh and hold well.
Opened a new way of cooking from our usual dinners, very tasty.

I was curious about HelloFresh and so I signed up. I had a poor experience at one point when they left out some key ingredients for a meal I had chosen. After raising this, I received credit on my account. Bit annoying as it meant I still had to go grocery shopping for a new meal which is what I was signing up to avoid but anyway, that's not the main complaint. Overall, the food was fine but it wasn't for me so I ended my subscription. This is where the issues arose.
I received a lot of sales calls from their reps to try and sign me back up. I mean A LOT of calls. Eventually I asked them to stop calling. This didn't work, the calls continued to come in much to my annoyance. This spurred me to to reach out to HelloFresh and avail of my GDPR rights to simply have my data deleted.
I received a response from their privacy team starting that they couldn't because of one of four reasons they listed. None of the reasons they listed were true in my case. Could I reply and object to what must clearly have been a misunderstanding? No. Ticket closed. Start the process again.
So I'm still subject to repeated nuisance calls despite me clearly requesting that they end and I'm having to go through a clunky process multiple times to end them.
