constant pressure and then threat of legal action when you question anything, given long list of names of contact who then are never available. Lots of different stories depending on who answers phone , delay tactics used at every opportunity

Hampton Lovett have helped the company I work for to reduce the rateable value of our property by 11,750 and the checking process is still underway! I am very pleased with the efficiency and service I have received from all of the team I have been in contact with and they have kept me up to date and informed along the way. I would definitely recommend Hampton Lovett to anyone requiring their services.

Sadly, my business is consistently receiving unsolicited spam emails from this company (and in what appear to be various different guises, not just 'Hampton Lovett'). This activity is very unprofessional and worrying and must surely be in breach of trading standards ?

Keep emailing me telling me they have identified i am paying too much in rates. In fact 36% too much. So quite precise. Say that neigbouring businesses are paying less. For a start the address they are identifying with is a residential address in a residential area - can't even get that right. Can't get this firm to stop emailing me. My company doesn't pay rates on my actual business premises. We qualify for 100% small business relief. I get bombarded by them constantly. Now they've changed their name to 'Revenue Refund' and send out emails looking like they are from the Local Authority with a headline 'Action Required' They know this is underhand.

Just phoned them again. They say they use a 3rd party for marketing and agree it isn't right to be doing what they are doing...THEN STOP IT!!!!

I was a very sceptical convert .. but tempted by the rewards . They were professional , but the process was very slow .. maybe pandemic issues - i had almost given up on getting a return . So , happily surprised when good news arrived and once it did, pay out was swift - so , it worked - i recommend Hampton-Lovett

Hampton Lovett -polite friendly service, positive result

Responded and had a visit from of their consultant. Pushed to "sign up" for their services at that meeting. There does appear to be a saving. Then the clock was ticking - in spite of being busy and effects of Covid they then started legal proceedings for payment of their invoice without any work having been completed. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING IN ADVANCE. Having paid, it's now been over a month and no response from emails to hear from them. Is this a scam ? Be very very careful. Have now threatened them with legal action that if they do not produce the work within a time period I will start legal proceedings. Very unprofessional and misleading marketing and "consultants".

The whole process of the Rates review was pain free and conducted in a very professional manner with regular updates to the progress of the case which have resulted in a substantial saving for our Business. We would definitely recommend Hampton Lovett for any future Rates reviews.

This company was very helpful to us as a small women's charity. They contacted us to inform us that it looked like we were being overcharged business rates. Although their representative didn't know whether or not we would commission their services, they had already done the homework of scrutinizing our valuation and explaining clearly where it was wrong, and how the system worked. Since we already get substantial reliefs as a charity the percentage fee on what is left to would not be worth their staff time. Even so it was clear we could make some savings, and possibly even get a refund for past years, so we are encourage to make an enquiry directly ourselves. We are very glad to have this information, as we did suspect that the valuation was too high. From this experience, I expect that anyone going with this firm would get a good service and result.

SPAM Mass market emails. They send them to non-existent addresses. Seems desperate. I have no idea if this is a scam, but it's not the way decent businesses act.

I have received many spam emails linking to this company. They are obviously ashamed of this and don't want it made public since there were many other reports of spam from this company but they have somehow convinced Trustpilot to remove them.

Update: I received further SPAM emails from this business on Saturday 8th January - so the abuse is still ongoing.

Hampton Lovett is a great reliable service.i was having a difficult time but hampton lovett assisted me secure a grant at that crucial time and I am very thankful.

Do not give your money to this company!
We instructed them to act on our behalf. They are a company that will just waste your time and money.
Nothing progressed unless you ring and prompt them. They don't turn up to survey appointments and then come up with a convincing excuse, yet when a member of there staff turned up the second time we were informed that they didn't put it in the diary the first time and it was lucky the guy that turned up this time was in the area as they forgot again it was down to us chasing that reminded them of the appointment.
When they come to put your case forward to the VOA it is very poor.
You could do better yourself. The VOA is very helpful.
DO NOT USE Hampton Lovett. There staff are unexperienced in dealing in rates reviews
Since the review I have been contacted. Promised better service and asked to change my review. someone will contact me in the next few days apparently.....
Waste of time full of empty promises
It's ashame, they talk the talk but that's where it all ends I'm afraid.

Their specialist was very pleasant and really helpful.I was able to get good rates on my business premises with the help of Hampton Lovett. They are very dependable and of great assistance.

Relentless spammers.

Their marketing database is literally years out of date (they are repeatedly emailing me about a property our business left several years ago), and they use multiple domains to minimise the effect of unsubscribing.

If you look at their reviews here, you'll see a pattern; lots of negative reviews, followed by sudden dumps over a couple of days of positive ones. Hmmm.....

Also, on their website, they say "we follow The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Rating Consultancy Code of Practice". Very cleverly worded; they don't claim to actually be members, their website doesn't mention affiliation to any other regulatory body, and if you check the RICS database they aren't listed. Would you trust your business to an unregulated company when regulated ones are available ?

Sends out huge volumes of SPAM emails. No legitimate company sends spam emails to any email address they can find online. We have received countless spam/scam email ads from "Hampton Lovett".

They've lived up to their reputation, They promised me certain results and they delivered on all of their promises, I am impressed.

Sad to say but a very disappointing experience. Appointed these guys to help with one of our businesses. Initially full of enthusiasm and confidence of a big result. However they won't take a case on without you paying a fee upfront and from there on in service has been terrible. Lack of communication, you have to chase them (or at least we did). High staff turnover means lack of continuity and having to go over old ground. End result for us is that we have ended up financially worse off than if we had never bothered and all they do is refer to their T's & C's completely ignoring conversations and emails which clearly state our situation was going to result in a successful outcome. They have no interest in resolving the issue just referring back to the contract. My advice would be to steer clear and look elsewhere.
