As the owners of Bestinvest - I would suggest you take a close look at how your business is being run and in particular the quality of client service provided. They cannot get even the basics of allocating funds to the correct account. They have no idea of the rules around tax and ISA’ s, do not keep to promises of correcting errors or contact you as promised despite daily calls to correct their errors. Do not invest your money with these people.

I transferred my pensions and savings to Evelyn from a large provider a couple of years ago. - they charged above average fees, but presented a good record and claimed a "wealth preservation" philosophy. During a period where the indices hit record highs and other providers (ISAs +11-20%) recorded double digit growth Evelyn managed about 3% - which in their annual review they considered "not bad", less than inflation or a high interest account. During the recent turmoil other providers dropped about 3-6% from their peak. Rather than this being Evelyn's strength they have dropped by 7% and my portfolio is now in negative territory. They appear complacent and incompetent. Please don't make my mistake.

Thank God for Daren O'Toole
Thank God for Daren O'Toole! He has provided me with sound finance planning and been at the end of the phone to advice me every step of the way. Evelyn have many internal "challenges" such as poor SLA with the IT department and inadequate mobile phone app. But Daren has even assisted in escalating my concerns and getting things done! Poor experience has taken years off my pension
I have been a customer for 8 years lost 4% of the portfolio during set up basically the market fell 4 weeks after I bought into the SIPP. Having said that the following 5 years saw some good returns but then the company converted from Tilney to Evelyn. Since that time performance has been poor and deteriorating. Account managers change they don't listen or understand customer concerns spouting only THE corporate message. All this time my SIPP is underperforming to the point that my "2% above inflation" SIPP has generated negative growth (-0.2%) over the past 12 months whilst global markets achieve ALL TIME HIGHS in the same period. The corporate response.... the management team acknowledge this miss, but we are now in the strongest portfolio position ever.
I am not paying you to ignore me or to acknowledge your mistakes I am paying you for expertise that you have clearly lost. This loss coincides with the Evelyn Take over and the Nat West take over pending I can clearly see where my resources were focussed on SHAREHOLDER PROFIT.
I am now in the process of transferring my portfolio away from these people.
Very disappointed customer of 20 years
Very disappointed customer of 20 years. I was with Ashcourt, Tilney, then Evelyn after last take over. Recently removed all funds due to very poor performance last 2 years, and fees 3-4 times market average. Customer service poor with 3 changes of key staff allocated in last year. Cannot recommend at all I am afraid.

Total disgrace
They charged for services they did not provide, they sold me out of a fund, and bought into a new fund without any authority, wiping thousands of pounds off my portfolio. And still no response to my complaint after 5 months.

They’ve always been outstanding and patient with me. Surprised to see some negative reviews here so felt I needed to speak up to share a great experience with financial planning and investments.

Complete waste of time
Complete waste of time. I had a straightforward Inheritance Tax question. I read their info about the matter on their website, and it asks you to fill out an online form for ' initial complimentary consultation with us'. You fill in your details, add the question you need to ask in the box, and you then get automated response saying you get 15 minutes etc for an initial call. I get an email saying my call will be with Sabrina. She calls at the allotted time I selected. Literally no engagement whatsoever, bearing in mind on my form I wrote 'My mother has recently passed away' you would think even a 'sorry to hear about your loss' would be absolutely the first thing that would come out of your mouth, particularly when ultimately you are going to be giving financial advice and selling your services based on this situation. But no, I got 'Yeahhhh I've got your notes in front of me that you wrote....can I take a few more details off you to pass on to one of my colleagues'. I replied 'sorry, maybe I misunderstood, I filled in my enquiry form already, I just have a simple question to ask about IHT, can you not help with that? Seeing as it's a complimentary 15 minute initial consultation?' To which she replied something along the lines of 'I don't know the answer/can't give you the answer', or words along those lines.
So no it's not an informal complimentary consultation to discuss your concerns/get advice. This is what they claim. It's to get some robot on the phone to ask you for even more details, who can't answer the question you submitted.
I've had 2 other calls today booked in with other companies, who I've asked the question to (so I can get several people to confirm my query about IHT), they've actually answered the question in general terms, but have said that it is somewhat more complicated than that, and if I want to explore further, get back in touch with them. This is how you do a free initial consultation.
I will not be using Evelyn Partners in future.

Awful client service just interested in making money
Awful client service! contacted them regarding financial advice for a young person receiving a large and significant inheritance pot from a relative - As it was under £250,000 they were un-interested unless I was prepared to also include my financial affairs /inheritance pot with them - Had they approached it differently it could have been an option but sadly doing it so crassly - no thanks
Post company comment: Evelyn - You are still missing the point - it was made very clear to me that unless I had other affairs to offer alongside it was not worth "your time" -The point is that we could have or can consider other stuff but the way you dealt with it has closed that door - that is not the way you deal with potential clients ! BTW on the day, I was just told to go and look for an IFA - not helpful in any shape or form. Today you have provided a more supportive response- however how many clients would go into the trouble to go on trustpilot? or how many clients are you losing because of these inadequate and pushy sales conversations?

Do NOT use this company, absolute disgrace, 7 weeks for product to arrive, not happy with it, no return label, you have to email them, so far no response, I have issued a chargeback with my bank. Complete scam.

A little disappointing
Has been a very disappointing experience. The best service until the funds came in and was invested but any attempts to get a response or Call to a simple customer query after that has turned into an impossible task! Initial request was early nov 24 and as of end of Jan 25 no response so far.

Shocking way to treat those looking to join the business
This feedback is directed at Evelyn’s HR department, not their advisers or investment team, as I am sure they all provide an excellent service to their clients.
After seeing a job vacancy that caught my attention, I spent several hours preparing and completing my application. However, after submitting it, I received a rejection email within just one hour. While I appreciate that not every job application results in success, I was puzzled by the immediate rejection, especially given that I possess all the required qualifications and several years of relevant experience. I would have expected at least an interview invitation.
I wondered if there was something wrong with my application or CV, so I reached out to the HR team for feedback to understand the reasons for the rejection and, more importantly, to help me improve future applications. Unfortunately, the HR team never responded. After a couple of weeks, I sent another request for feedback, but again, there was no response.
It is disappointing to see that Evelyn’s HR department considers this behaviour as acceptable. It is highly unprofessional. The directors, who are ultimately responsible for every member of their team, should be made aware of this conduct. HR is often the first point of contact for job applicants and such behaviour creates a negative first impression of the company. Furthermore, this is a highly incestuous industry where word-of-mouth and reputation matters greatly. At a time when “ESG” is a focal point for many companies, it’s essential to remember that this isn't just about pollution or how environmentally friendly they are, the “G” stands for Governance, this encompasses how a company treats its people and how it interacts with others outside of the organisation.
Based on feedback from others, it seems Evelyn replies to every comment made on this platform, whether positive or negative. This may give the impression that the company is proactive and responsive in the public domain, but their lack of response behind closed doors suggests otherwise. Therefore, my comments are based on factual experiences, not just personal opinion.
Finally, HR and the directors of the company need to recognise that their decisions regarding job applications directly impact people’s livelihoods. Is it too much to ask for a few minutes of your time to provide a response, especially considering that this is the job you are being paid to do?

Poor Response
Been contacting Evelyn Partners on phone and emails with little luck for the last 6 months. They are dealing with the liquidation of a car park investment and have not been helpful what so ever. I've also tried ringing them from Australia where I reside and have spoken to multiple people who simply could not assist me in relation to this specific issue. Very disappointed :(

Great secondment service for our charity
Huge thank you to Hugh who was on a secondment to our charity for a few months when we had some staff leave, and urgently needed support to transition us from SAGE to Xero. Hugh was on hand to do the technical transition, as well troubleshooting problems and providing training. The support was invaluable

Very poor investment decisions and high fees
Very poor investment decisions resulted in a loss of 10% of my pension after fees and inflation over nearly 5 years.
I would have been 30% better off with a simple tracker fund.
That would save £15,000 in fees and charges over a year on a £1m pension - enough for luxury holidays for the extended family instead of your financial advisor - think about it…
Their complaints procedure was just a delaying tactic, with my concerns simply ignored.
I would not recommend this company as they will imply impressive returns but deliver the reverse - then charge you for the privilege….

Pension Transfer - they didn't listen to me
I needed an advisor qualified to help me through the process of transferring a Pension TV with safeguarded elements within it. (Such advice was mandatory in my case).
Evelyn Partners were recommended but it just didn’t work out.
I made it clear at the outset that my objective was solely to satisfy the obligation to obtain advice and that I did not want anything beyond that, in particular I did not want ongoing advice.
The Evelyn Advisor seemed to ignore this and kept returning to how he could offer a wider service – with associated additional charges. I felt under pressure but resisted what I felt was a hard sell focused on what they wanted to provide rather than what I wanted.
I gave up and found an alternative provider who listened and provided exactly what I wanted and with lower fees.
Based on my experience I cannot recommend them.
