I can't find an account in your name in order to investigate the specifics, but I'm sorry to hear we haven't lived up to expectations.

With regards to the salary element, this shouldn't be possible, you're matched based on the salary expectation you set on platform, it's not possible to be matched to roles paying less than the level you set.

With the 2 hour commute this is definitely feedback we're working on, we calculate things based on distance currently and we recognise particularly within a big city this can lead to some fairly sizeable commute times, it's something we're looking into improving at present.

With regard to notifications, you can manage these within your account settings.

Thanks for your feedback, I've taken a look and can see the issue immediately.

On hackajob, companies reach out to you vs you reaching out to them, they can only reach out if you're a match, to avoid wasted time for either yourself or the company.

Your only desired job title is Product Manager - 0-1 years, meaning you'd only match to Product Manager roles for candidates with 0-1 years of experience, given the majority of your experience is as a Software Engineer and your salary expectations are higher than would be expected for an entry level Product Manager role, this combo isn't going to produce any matches.

I've reached out with some suggestions to resolve this.

Hi Stephen,

Thanks for the feedback, currently on hackajob companies make the first move and invite you to apply, if your skills, experience and preferences match their role, we're currently working on a new system which will be more tranasparent when you sign up via a particular job ad, explaining why you do/don't match and where you do allowing the candidate to move first.

I've taken a look at your profile and can see why you haven't had any traction, the salary preference you've set is way below the desired role/seniority you've added - I've dropped you an email with some insights as to how you can amend this and bring it in line with the market rate.

Hey Karthik,

I'm sorry to hear this is the feeling we've left you with. I can assure you any role advertised by us is a geniuine role on platform.

I've taken a look and can see why you'd feel this way, unfortunately we just don't have a lot of jobs in India at the entry/junior level of experience, where we do have a handful they're not matching your profile - we do appreciate this lack of transparency can feel very jarring though, and we're working on deploying some updates before the end of February that will be much more transparent as to why you are/aren't matching roles & will give you some agency to make the first move where you do match.
