Just returned from "Christmas" break at Crown Spa Scarborough, sadly no Christmas spirit from hotel nor tour operator. Food was poor, dinners lacking vegetables. Breakfast, crokeey and food always cold. Disorganised. Seating room changed without notice, with nothing set out. Tour manager should have informed us all. Room like an inferno even as heating off and windows open. Ceiling light/fan would come on without prompts at any time, 1am,2am. And 4 in the morning! Very strange. Perhaps tour manager/s should give more time to all and be activly involved daily to sort issues with Hotel. Hope of an enjoyable experience. As for pick up, then late 35 minutes collection and sham at interchange, for return again sham at interchange. Fortunately dropped off at correct stop as coach manager was to depart us sooner.

Agree with other review it's a hotel for business travellers.
Room OK, not enough storage, couldn't get temperature right all week. Bathroom very cold

Food was below par and Christmas lunch was disgusting with soggy sliced turkey and beef gravy!!

I found most of the GUK staff both at head office and on the tour, disinterested in their customers and some very rude

Needless to say it was my first and last time with this company.

Recently returned from a 5 day Turkey and Tinsel break to Mold in North Wales .
The hotel was clean and comfortable and the food very tasty and plentiful.
The included excursions to Liverpool, Chester and Llangollen were enjoyable and interesting .
The holiday was made very special for all us passengers by our driver Marcus and tour guide Nathan who had never worked together before but were incredible, they both went over and above their required duties to make sure our holiday was one to remember . Nathan organised bingo and quizzes both on the coach and in the evenings after dinner in his own off duty time .
They both had a great sense of humour and we laughed so much with them over the 5 days.
We have travelled on a number of coach trips before but this one was undoubtedly the best ever !!

The transport was very good with a driver and tour manager making travelling comfortable.
The hotel was in good condition, our room was first class, with good food and great entertainment. We look forward to our next Grand UK trip, which is at Christmas.

Like the fact there is a courier and a driver plus handing over suitcase and you don't see them again until I your room.

The hotel was good the food was good. Not easy to access entertainment though as it was in different hotel.

My partner and I went on a coach holiday with Grand UK in September. It was the Road, Rail and Sail holiday to Cumbria/Lancashire.
We stayed at Foxfields Country Hotel, Billington for 4 nights. The hotel is pleasant and the food was good, however, we found a few issues with the cleanliness of the room. There were long dark hairs on the shower wall and I have never seen such a dirty extractor fan. When we wiped up excess water on the bathroom floor, the floor was very grubby. We did report the hairs to the reception as the heated radiator in the bathroom wasn’t working, but we removed the hairs ourselves and when we did report the radiator the receptionist said, there are several rooms with that problem! As we were in a coach party we sat together on long tables, packed in like sardines, once you got in, you couldn’t get out. It was so hot and an uncomfortable environment.
Grand UK offered us a trip to Kirby Lonsdale, a cruise on River Lune across the Aqueduct, neither of which we did, as the trips were changed, even the tour manager was apologising.
My biggest issue though is that I wrote a complaint to Grand UK Holidays a few days after we returned, I had an email back to say it had been forwarded to the relevant department, I was advised that I would get a response within 28 days, I have sent a reminder but 5 weeks later I still have not had a response and I feel this is unacceptable and disgraceful customer service.

Good guide and driver also hotel fine. An all round good break except for the bad organisation of the journey home via Windsor, Beaconsfield and Cobham, no taxi at Cobham to take us to Staines.

The courier Bev was excellent She was informative and very caring looking after us and had made you feel safe at all the venues we visited. The relaxed conversations between her and the driver Nigel made the trip one of the best. The staff and management in the hotel great and hotel accommodation was of a good standard Would visit the area when the weather was better
Good holiday

Everything about this holiday was great, my first experience with Grand UK and Indeed holidaying on my own i felt very relaxed and driver courier were very friendly and helpful x

The hotel was very good no problems. the three trips were excellent we had two very good days weather wise unfortunately the Wednesday it poured with rain.
Our Driver & Courier got on very well, I must mention that our Driver Mark went out of his way to help Nathan
By diverting so that Nathan Could get home Without having to spend a lot of money on Public Transport

It was our guide Catherine who made our holiday great and very special. Her knowledge, sense of humour and ability to improvise when it was raining, was absolutely amazing.

This was my first holiday on my own, (as my husband has Parkinson’s ) we have been away with you a lot of times together, I was a bit nervous, but Sharon and Dave Wilson were wonderful, everyone I met was really nice also the hotel was lovely, Also I would like to mention the taxi driver that picked me up from crowborough to take me to east grinstead the coach was late and the taxi driver offered to buy me a coffee, also on the way back I had the same taxi driver who took me right to my car and waited until I went before he left, I know the taxi firm came from Crawley, it would be lovely if you could send my thanks to him

The driver & rep on the coach were really good, but the journey time was far too long 7 hours going to Potters Five Lakes & 9 hours on return journey, due to not being able to get a slot at Beaconsfield Service Station at an earlier time so had to go to a garden centre to use up time until our allocated slot. The resort was very nice our rooms were excellent,food & entertainment also really good.

Brand new coach took us to Burlington Hotel Torquay. Although the staff were nice and the food was good the hotel was worn out and tired. It's half a mile from the centre though described as 'close'; there 14 steps down to the dining room and no lift which was a killer for our mainly elderly party; the furniture was old and tired in our room (the wardrobe was DIY and you couldn't easily reach the rail; the shower had no hot water and only two tiny soaps were supplied and the rest of the en-suite was best forgotten with a loo so low it was difficult to use. Our second experience of a sub-standard hotel from Grand UK. The Warners option seems to be the only one that delivers a reasonable standard as I am sure Grand UK do not check their hotels themselves, otherwise they wouldn't send guests to them. Also the three visits on the tour were sandwiched into three consecutive days which was tiring and left you with perhaps a rest day and one day to see Torquay which was a bus ride. By the way there is another Burlington hotel in Torquay 'The Burlington', considerably better than this one, which several guests had mistaken for our one and had brought swimming things for a pool that didn't exist.
After several Grand UK holidays this was the final straw: why should we go to accommodation which is inferior to our homes and put up with such poor standards of accommodation, just to get a holiday?

We did the same trip last year which was great but we were disappointed this time, the journey there and back was extra long with coaches not synchronising, when we arrived at the hotel we were given a small room at the back that looked out onto the fire escape it was quite dark and dingy,the shower was tiny and not very efficient, but the beds were clean and comfortable, the food was lovely and the staff were great, but with the lift still not working the hotel is not suitable for the older people who visit via the coach trips,a shame but we will not be returning

White Heather Hotel was our base ,excellent food and accommodation, staff were brilliant, being disabled Sam the receptionist deserves a medal.so helpful.food was excellent, This was our 2nd holiday here. Despite no lift at present, would have no hesitation on returning or recommending white Heather Hotel fantastic week.
