Freetrain running vest

Freetrain running vest - Male 45 new to running and park runs

Vest is brilliant, high quality and the phone pocket allows easy access to phone to change tunes or take a call, the phone window in the pockets allows for touch usage.

Water bottle is of good size and you don't notice it while running - the only down side to the water bottle it has started to leak at the very top, not a big issue but a little frustrating as I've only used it 3 times.

Overall very happy with the running vest as it allows easy carry of phone and hydration.

Not Fit for Purpose- Disappointing and Cheeky Refund Policy

Bought this as a Christmas present for my partner and it was a complete disappointment. The phone case is ridiculously small and clearly not designed for modern phones, it it does not fit an iPhone 16 Pro. I then had to pay to return it myself, only to be refunded the product price and not the shipping. This feels very cheeky and unfair, especially when the product is not fit for purpose. Would not recommend.

We’re sorry the phone case didn’t fit as expected - we do have customers using this product within the vest, but understand if using a bulkier case, this may make it too large.

As stated on our website and in our returns policy, we do not offer free returns, and we do not refund the original delivery charge, as this service was completed and covers picking, packing, packaging, and delivery of the item to you.

This approach is in line with most online retailers, many of whom charge for a returns label or deduct the cost from the refund.

Clarification of the facts


In response to your reply on my previous review, I want to make one point entirely clear: readers do not need a “clarification of the facts.” What is needed is accountability.

At no point did I state that the item would only be repaired; I stated there was the potential for repair. When I reported the faulty running vest, the first message I received stated:

“Once we receive and inspect the item, and if a fault is confirmed, we will process a repair or replacement accordingly.”

This wording matters. There was no acknowledgement the item was clearly faulty upon arrival — only “if a fault is confirmed,” which implies uncertainty where none existed. The defect was visible immediately, and should have been treated as a confirmed manufacturing issue rather than something in doubt. I received a brand-new product that arrived defective and unusable

Additionally, I was told the issue could take up to 10 days to review with the “quality team & supplier.” The timeframe itself is reasonable. What I do not find reasonable is the suggestion that a full-price, brand-new item that arrived faulty might be repaired rather than replaced or refunded. Repairs are appropriate for wear, tear or accidental damage—not products that are defective on arrival . Mentioning repair in this context signals unclear quality control and a lack of ownership of the issue.

Your public response stated that “ The item received was not ripped; the stitching had come loose.”

However, in the email sent to me, there was no acknowledgment of confirmed fault—only “if a fault is confirmed.” This inconsistency, combined with the mention of repair as a possible outcome, undermines confidence in both the inspection process and the company’s willingness to take responsibility

Your policy states that you may offer repair or replacement after inspection. To be clear: offering repair for an item that arrived defective is not a reasonable or customer-focused solution. It treats a brand-new product as if it were used.

To clarify my position:
* I have no issue with response time.
* I have no issue returning the item.
* I do have an issue with the tone, the lack of accountability, and the treatment of brand- new product as if it were a used one.

For that reason, I declined both the repair and the replacement. This experience has not given me confidence that future issues would be handled with transparency. The item has been returned for a refund.

I do want to acknowledge that Dani’s communication regarding the issues with the return process was excellent—prompt, clear, and solution-focused. That was appreciated.

I hope this feedback is taken constructively and leads to clearer communication, better quality checks, more consistent acknowledgment of faults, and an end to offering repairs for items that are defective upon arrival.

We understand your view, and we’d like to be clear that accountability was taken through our actions from the outset.

We understand that wording matters, and we agree it is important to be clear: we cannot guarantee any outcome until we’ve inspected the reported issue. This applies to any fault reported to us.

We apologised for the issue reported, reviewed the photos provided, and issued a free prepaid return label immediately. While we appreciate receiving photos, they do not always allow us to understand how the issue occurred or how we can prevent it in future. Requesting the item back is a standard and necessary step, as it is with most online retailers, to properly investigate the issue and offer a resolution.

Our communication throughout was polite, apologetic, clear and solution-focused, as stated by yourself. The item was not treated as used, and a repair was not stated the required outcome. In line with our policy, a repair or replacement may be offered following inspection, subject to various factors. When you confirmed that a refund was your preferred outcome, this was confirmed without issue.

The timeframe provided stated: “We aim to complete the inspection and return process within 7–10 working days of receiving your parcel. While it’s usually much faster, this is to allow for any delays outside of our control.” This is standard and provided to set realistic expectations.

At no point was responsibility refused or a refund declined. Once the return is fully processed, a full refund will be issued promptly. As such, we consider this matter appropriately handled.

Highly recommended

Ordered two sets of the Aerolyte tops/Hybrid shorts. A genuine error with their dispatch, resulted in the non arrival of this order and in its place, something else. Excellent customer service from Freetrain, a prompt reply to my message, a timely resolution and the relevant order dispatched and arriving with me within 2 days. Yes, I needed to take some photos, but that's no problem!. I have read some of the other reviews here, and would urge you to make contact with Freetrain through their Email which is clearly displayed on their website. Give them a chance to rectify any issues before leaving negative comments and I am confident you will not be disappointed. I am still waiting for an exchange for the Black Hybrid shorts, which came up a little tighter than the other colour of the same size, but given the time of year I would be surprised if they are able to get this to me before Xmas, and I wouldn't blame them if not. This exchange request was easy and again a prompt response (within hours), providing the address to send them to and clear instructions. This was my first order with them, my son loves the feel and quality of their products and I have no doubt that he/me will be a returning customer. As the title of this review says - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED company.

Unknown fees

Throughout process was unaware of fees added for an item under 100$ shipping from UK to USA, apparently not gona receive package so just waiting on my refund!

placed an order over two weeks ago and…

placed an order over two weeks ago and it still hasn’t been shipped. There’s been no meaningful update, no tracking information, and no clear communication about what’s causing the delay.

I understand things can happen, but going this long without any progress is really frustrating, especially when I was expecting the item within a reasonable timeframe. At this point, I wouldn’t recommend ordering from this company unless they seriously improve their shipping times and customer communication.
