AVOID AVOID AVOIDThis is a dreadful company who claim to help you get back £ from the HMRC. Even if you receive forms to sign and DONT send back they want to charge you! Then they constantly harass, bully and demand payment. Payment for what? I was told its in the fine print that if you don't send the forms back they can charge you. Daylight robbery. NOW they have passed my details onto a debt collector called Judges Demand - its now £459 from £85!!!!! - For not signing a form and selling on the debt now? I will happily take this to a solicitor to expose this shameful operation. I hope the people that work there understand exactly the part they play in making peoples lives a misery especially when finances are so tight with the cost of living and mortgages going up. Im a single parent and what they are doing is criminal and exploitive. No win no fee my BUTT.
EDIT - Now you can see exactly how unprofessional they are from the reply they have put on here. Look at all the other reviews on here that are saying exactly the same. They are harassing, bullying and using scare tactics to force people to part with money they don't have in the 1st place. I am reporting them to every possible organisation possible. ACTIONFRAUD, SCAMPULSE,CITIZENS ADVICE,GOV.Uk on reporting a SCAM company, FCA, FINANCIAL OMBUDSMAN, BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.
I can barely afford to live and rely on food banks to feed myself and my child. These people are charlatans and are preying on vulnerable people who are desperate for help. How can they justify because I didn't send a form back that they can now charge me? They are making my anxiety really bad and if I end up on medication then it will be their fault for causing me to have so much worry.
They need to be closed down.

Stay well away
Stay well away, no win no fee, they are trying to charge me for a ppi claim which is not even successful I've done everything they have asked of me, I've rang hmrc about 6 times asking them to work with fredick Edwards and they have done it but there is some problem apparently, I'm disabled take 29 tablets a day and have learning difficulties I've explained this to them and they are still hounding me, I pointed out that they say no win no fee but still insist I owe them money, please use a different firm causing me a lot of heart ache and feeling really scared to me it is bullying and harassment

Have billed me £240 for not having a document from 7 years ago, claimed the ppi tax claim failing was my fault clearly not. very un-ethical company indeed, i have no money and will have to get sent to court now for a ccj just to pay their extremely unfair bill. another example of wealthy experts in law exploiting poor people who was lured in by a hope of getting a few quid back.
I noticed your reply did not worry about being called greedy and unethical. Maybe that’s just an accepted fact. ps the bill is still not paid neither will it be. Now waiting for debt collection department to come threatening me. 🙀

They saying i owe nearly £400 for claiming marraiage tax when i never even been married and the person on the form with me obviously dont exist im on benefits and there getting absolutely nothing for something thats nothing at all to do with me. I owe another company money from a phone contract they get £1 a month thats all they was allowed to take off me and that doesnt finish until im in my 80s i live with my mum and nothings mine here so theres literally nothing they can do for something nothing at all to do with me go after the other person who obviously applied
Be careful of the small print.
I received a call from someone at Fredrick Edwards about the possibility of claiming back tax paid on previous PPI payouts. The team member was polite and said it was worth a shot.
I asked on this and the occasions that I have spoken to them if this was definitely a 'no win no fee' situation and the answer every time was 'Yes'.
I have just paid my fee despite there being no payout. When they tried to claim, there was a small question mark over my self assessment form and they agreed for me to wait for HMRC for proof I didn't need to submit one. This complication, delays from HMRC, combined with me not responding to the notification threatening to close the case and submit an invoice is also to blame.
I tried calling back a few times through different days but no answer. They also don't open Friday which makes things harder for working people.
My wife had no tax hiccup and did receive a small amount back.
I received an invoice for roughly £75 with a time limit to pay, this then went up to £108 which I have paid because I suspect all the legal parts of the business model have been sewn together well before they picked up the phone that day. I also didn't want to be in a situation of needing to pay more to them for nothing.
Be careful what you sign. This is not a 'no win no fee' situation.
Or if you have the time, read up about claiming it back yourself on the Money Saving Expert website and buy yourself a drink.

Everything went wrong with Frederick Edwards. I’ve put in a marriage tax allowance claim. I received notification from the HMRC that they would be paying a refund for the past three years I received the money and promptly paid, Frederick, Edwards their fee. My husband is self-employed and completed his tax return, only to find out that the small amount of money he was due, couldn’t be paid to him and would need to be claimed through Frederick Edwards as they were acting on his behalf. Not once did anyone tell us that Frederick Edwards were my husbands agents, this is absolutely disgusting. I have written to the HMRC to tell them Frederick Edwards are not acting agents for my husband. My husband has heard again from the HMRC at Frederick. Edwards are still the agents
I have just spoken to Frederick Edwards again and have been told we need to send the same letter we sent to HMRC to them for this issue to be cleared up. How dare you Frederick Edwards, you are nothing to do with our HMRC tax accounts. My husband and I are furious.
Furthermore, prior to this, I had a small tax claim which was dealt with by Frederick Edwards, it was very small and I was told I would be receiving some money. The money was sent straight to Frederick Edwards and I received absolutely nothing. So I do believe That this company rob people of their hard earned money
I challenge Frederick Edwards to prove me wrong.
I have now been told by Stacey when I send a letter of cancellation and this will take up to 12 weeks to sort out. You deserve this review.

Gave my details to get some tax back on a PPI claim. It took a while for HMRC to send a message saying my information didn’t match, but I rang and spoke to Stacy a few weeks ago and gave my correct details (my own fault as I mixed some numbers up when I originally gave the information to Fredrick Edwards) who then went back to HMRC.
The payment was sent to me, so I rang today and arranged to pay my fees. Would recommend this company to anybody who wants a seamless service with support every step of the way.

A WORD OF WARNING!
My experience with this company turned out to both frustrating and expensive. I spoke to a lady from the company offering tax back on a claim I had made previously for PPI (same company but different name FRS and it worked well - easy process and I got my money less the fee). The claim would have been for a very low sum and to be honest I was encouraged to think of it as 'some money would be better than none' so accepted their fee on a 'no win, no fee' basis. After signing up to their terms of service I put it out of my mind. A while down the line I was contacted by Frederick Edwards and asked to contact HMRC because there was an 'existing claim blocking the way' (my words not theirs - the exact wording I can't remember, but hopefully you get the picture). Now to be honest, I couldn't really be bothered to do this. As I mentioned this claim was small and not really worth my time and effort. I later received an email to say this needed chasing up, a phone call and then more emails. As I said, for such a small return I didn't think it warranted my leg work (these claims are easily made by yourself if you have the time and inclination to do so). After a phone call which I was able to answer (outside work hours) it was explained that unless I contacted HMRC that I would be in breach of Terms of Service and liable to pay a fee. This prompted me into action and I called and failed several times to speak to HMRC. I got fed up and stopped trying. Over the course of a few months I continued to get phone calls (during my working hours) which I didn't answer and emails which I returned explaining my frustrations with contacting HMRC. The responses were clear in that they insisted I found this information. I dragged my heels more than a bit (as I said the claim was really small). I then received emails saying that I owed £200 +vat for services received. Having received no recompense I made complaint about the costs and did not 'pay up.' The current bill for defaulting on payments is now £379 and having had a proper conversation with a member of the team. I am aware that my 'non - cooperation' (their words) has resulted in my bill. As you can imagine I am in between a rock and a hard place, I signed to their terms and therefore I have little port of call to complaint. Their complaints procedure is only escalated to their managing director and it would appear to me that there is nowhere else to escalate my concern to. This company is not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority as they are not a claims company. Regulated companies exist though and are listed on the FCA website. So my word of warning... make sure you are willing to do a bit of leg work before agreeing to make your claim, whether that be with Frederick Edwards or any other claims management or tax rebate firm.

Took a bit longer than the 12 weeks…
Took a bit longer than the 12 weeks originally stated but that isn’t the company’s fault, I called for an update and was told that my claim hadn’t settled due to a backlog at HMRC.
Few weeks later I got a text from Frederick Edwards saying that my claim was successful. Happy days

Worst company on the planet stay well clear . There’s lots of better companies than this one. Ive asked them not to contact me at least 10 times they just keep harassing you time after time and very rude! Just Google and find a better company. They will reply to this with a load of lies as of before .(beware)!

Brilliant service and staff
Completely forgot I signed up with this company and got a refund from HMRC months ago, didn’t think anything of it until I got an invoice from Fredrick Edwards.
I rang to see what the invoice was for and spoke to Lynn, she took me through the reason for the invoice and couldn’t have been more helpful. I’ve now paid the invoice and we’re all happy.
Would definitely use this company and recommend to my friends and family.

DO NOT USE.
DO NOT USE. They make it sound like you just have to provide some simple details. Then they wait ages to tell you they need more, but what they don't tell you is there is a deadline, so they cancel the claim and say YOU have to pay THEM £200 + VAT!!!!!! Which is possibly more than their commission for the claim in the first place. You do the math.

Avoid this company at all costs. Their communication is so bad it’s misleading, they change their minds and make the rules up as they go and they will charge you bucket loads of money for doing absolutely nothing for you. AVOID, AVOID,AVOID . £240 charge for them not letting me know there was a deadline BUT THEY WILL NOT TELL YOU THIS. Record ALL phone calls with them if you are using them. Charge reduced to £72 for cancellation fee…not sure who cancelled it, it wasn’t me. They will communicate poorly until they think you owe them money, then they will hound you with emails, phone calls and invoices. I paid £72 to be told they could not proceed with my claim. Awful company, feels like a scam.
Frederick Edwards, don’t bother responding to my review with your inane pathetic excuses. I have read everyone else’s’ reviews and had a very similar experience. What a lovely company you are….

It might be legal but certauinly not right - Avoid.
Following an advertisement I replied and gave permission for this company to try and claim back possible PPI funds.
OVER TWO years later they finally get back in touch telling me they have information the claim had already been settled, they then said I must contact HMRC to get information from them to confirm this.
I tried to call HMRC several times and despite being on hold each time for about half an hour did not get to speak to them.
They simply said it was tough, if you cannot provide the confirmation then you breach their terms and conditions.
Due to this Fredrick Edwards closed my claim and then issued a cancellation invoice for £60 + VAT.
Oh I am sure it is all above board and legal but it does not make it right, take my advice and go elsewhere - save yourself money.

SCAMMERS - Avoid!!
Constantly harassed with phone calls and bully tactics. I found this very intimidating and upsetting and stated to one of the callers I suffered from my nerves. Now I’ve been sent an invoice for cancellation policy. This is the biggest SCAM going. I advise everyone to call Ofcom and report this harassment.

Spoke to a rep called Lynn. She clearly guided me through the entire process clearly. Even when I needed help in terms of issues with my bank. Her advice was excellent and has now allowed me to continue with my refund claim. Thanks Dave

Where's my money?
18 days ago, HMRC sent me a letter informing me that they've sent a cheque to this company, which is money for me. I still haven't received it.
This company are very quick to send threatening letters, but not, it seems, so quick to send you your money. I would strongly recommend you avoid using this company.
