Be careful of the "Free Trial Period"
the company advertises free trial period and like every other similar subscription service demands credit card information in the hope that the subscriber will forget to cancel. I was not impressed with the service and of course I was one of those people who was charged for a one month subscription without any notice from the company that my free trial period was expiring.

Findmypast.com is the best for Irish Genealogy
Findmypast.com is in my opinion the best source for researching Irish genealogy, which is so difficult due to the destruction of the Public Records Office in Dublin in 1922 and with it 700 years of records. Remember, you also need to incorporate Irish geography into the search. See John Grenham's site for help there.

The sites fairly easy to use and I’ve found a few really helpful records that I couldn’t locate anywhere else. The search function works well most of the time, although it can take a bit of trial and error to narrow things down. I do wish some records were easier to access without upgrading, but the document quality is generally good, and the hints have pointed me in the right direction more than once. It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely a useful tool for anyone researching their family history

Search function very difficult to use. Newspaper OCR inconsistent. When searching newspapers, often very difficult to locate results on page.

Generally good, but limited coverage of old parish records and newspapers and over-reliance on transcripts rather than images
Generally good. However, there are still far too many parish records and newspapers not covered; and there is still over-reliance on transcripts (understandable when electronic storage was limited, but not so now), which all too often prove to be inaccurate. You often show several different transcripts of the same document. Recently, I found three transcripts of a parish baptism which gave three different dates and two different churches. We need images of original documents, especially when researching events outside our own areas.

A useful tool
I've used the site for a number of years. There seems to be some documents where you could previously see an image and now only have a transcript (poor law and land tax, 1700s).
I do like the wide time over which you can search. It would be even better if names of spouses and children could be added to the search.

Findmypast often has links to records…
Findmypast often has links to records that other websites either don't have or are harder to find. Their records also often include information in their summaries that are lacking in other websites which makes it easier to find the correct records.

Findmypast.com is Essential
I have subscribed to Findmypast.com for many years. It is crucial for my British, Irish and American research. The databases I use the most are the British newspapers, the Irish church records and American Catholic diocese records. There are many US marriages you cannot find elsewhere. Even databases that are also on other sites have better indexing.

For the most part this site works well
For the most part this site works well, easy to navigate and useful.
The only problem encountered was when attempting to correct an entry, ie census transcription, it seemed that rather that take a good look at a clearly mis-transcripted entry, the standard entry was (we do not correct an entry.
