Bought 2 leather recliners for the…

Bought 2 leather recliners for the media room hardly used, but has started to peel on the top contacted customer service who sent the leather doctor who gave a report which I can’t see saying body oil causes this ?? We have other leather chairs 26 years old no problems the other chair we bought same time as this no problems our leather car seats no problem but a 5cm circle on the top of this chair body oil 😳😡I will never buy their cheap expensive furniture again !

Terrible.
Refund denied despite unacceptable quality goods and service.

Please read the below that was an email and discussion with Eureka furniture:

- originally told that the delivery would be between 230pm-630pm Friday 26th Sept. The delivery arrived at our house at 10:47pm that night. (this is the most ridiculous service I have ever witnessed)
- we were told that upon the delivery, the furniture would be unwrapped, set up and placed in position - this did not occur.
- upon removing the cardboard wrapping multiple points of damage were instantly visible.
- large amounts of old spiderwebs hanging underneath multiple items
- finish/varnish coating almost non-existent on large areas of furniture. Timber very dry and tarnished.
- furniture is flimsy and can easily be moved around by the push of my hand.
- large deposits of dust around bottoms of furniture
- furniture does not match the in-store demo model in quality.
- furniture is now safely stored in our garage which means that one of our cars needs to be parked on the street causing frustration.

Points of contact:
- original phone call made to Olive Grove Furniture at roughly 3pm Saturday afternoon (27th sept) upon opening packaging. - told to call back to speak to the manager on Monday (29th sept).
- Called the store Monday, the acting manager said that she will speak to the regional manager and call back. No call back received.
- I called the store on Wednesday (1st oct) approx. 930am. I was told I will get called back by 1130am. No call back received.
- I called again and spoke to yet another staff member approx 9am Thursday (2nd oct). This was followed by Aaron's phone call.

As can be seen from the above, the quality of service and product is unacceptable. As a reasonable request I have asked for the furniture to be returned and a full refund, this has been denied by your management team.

Dining Room Chairs

We purchased the Ribbon back style chairs together with the dining table. Within the first few months a leg snapped off. Now another one has snapped off, and another chair has cracks through the back support. Hence 3 out of 6 chairs have cracks and/or are broken. Because its over 1 year of purchase, they will not cover under the warranty. My concern is that the lack of quality could pose a serious safety concern if someone was to sit on the chairs.

Do not buy from this retailer

Do not buy from this retailer if you want to have any post sale service or expect your warranty to be honoured. I purchased some outdoor furniture which rusted, stained and started falling apart after less than six months and when I sought assistance was refused point blank.

Absolute garbage furniture

Absolute garbage furniture. Avoid like the plague. Purchased a dining room table and chairs. 3 of the 6 chairs broke in exactly the same spot in under 2 years.
Wrote to their 'after care' service' and they didn't want a bar of it as it was out of warranty. Regardless if it was out of warranty or not, something purchased for thousands of dollars should not break so quickly. (especially when it is a clear design fault)

Lacks after care service

Poor products and after care service. The recliner I purchased broke down three times under warranty. The first time they fixed the problem. The second time they did not do anything until I got the Office of Fair Trading involved. This time they are saying that it is out of warranty even though their website states that recliner mechanisms have a three-year warranty, and I purchased the recliner less than three years ago. I have a feeling that I will have to go back to the Office of Fair Trading to get this issue resolved. Avoid this store unless you like living with broken down furniture and dealing with insincere people.

Eureka Street Furniture Cairns No Customer Service…

I went in many times into Eureka street Funiture in Cairns in the past and all the time I was there I was not greeted or had any customer service even though there were two people at a time at the counter. I went in on the weekend thinking to myself if I get customer service help that day I would buy myself a lounge suit. But nope no customer service there were four people on that day they all saw me but totally ignored me and not one of them came to assist me even though I made eye contact to them. They are extremely rude and not helpful they just sit the the front desk. Waited 5minutes still no greet or customer serivce assistant so I left. My sister and friends also said the same thing no one comes to greet the customers and they ignore you. I'm surprise if they even make sales.

Avoid unless you think a chest of drawers should only last 18 months.

I purchased a 6-drawer chest in September 2021 and all the drawer runners are falling to bits. The store refuses to deal with product faults and refers customers to an online form where "head office" can assess claims.

Clearly the store has no concept of the duty of their responsibility under Australian Consumer Law. Complained to the store and they referred me to "the form" and the form says, "they'll get back to me." Clearly the days of customer service and the value of loyal customers is lost on Eureka!

UPDATE!!! 1/6/23
The "head office" honcho's have "reviewed my claim" and have denied my claim of faulty merchandise as the product is "outside the warranty period" and should I be unhappy with the outcome to lodge a claim with the office of fair trading. They sent me a copy of the "product care guide" which bears no relevance to this product as it is a chest of drawers with low quality drawer runners that fall to bits after 18 months of normal use. So off to the office of fair trading we go... You've been warned!
