We Rent a flat through the Ballards…

We Rent a flat through the Ballards Lane branch. The employees, especially Belinda in the Rental dept there continuous helpful, efficient and professional manner is second to none.
Nothing is too much trouble and action taken very quickly to anything asked.
Delight to deal with them

Finchley branch

Worst letting agency I have ever dealt with.
- Their behaviour is rude and offensive
- The director (Khalid Ghani) kept us waiting for 40 min to make a planned appointment
- They don't even bother to reply the emails after getting their commission
- They made a mistake in entering my tenancy information on DPS website and they refuse to fix it.

Ellis & Co Willesden, Disgusting Store Manager

I am renting therough Ellis & Co, Willesden Green, Walm Lane. the Store manager Peter Stinson has been looking after the flat since I have moved in 2 years ago. He has been showcasing disrespectful and discriminatory behaviour.
1) he is disregarding concerns
2) he blames handymen and us tenants for issues resulting from his lack of communication or work done badly or without protecting our belongings.
3) he demanded me to leave my room and my flat during his inspection following the reporting of disrepairs
4) he has told handymen that I would stay in my room during their repairs, following my complaint about their work done, which is unlawful and discriminatory
5) he only addresses my male flatmate but he cuts me off when I speak.
6) he defamed me by accusing me of having put hands on him during an inspection
7) he yelled at me that I am sick and need serious help after having called him an A$#% when he refused to look of the evidence of bad repair.
9) After that I disclosed PTSD and depression to him based on life long abuse by men. He responded to that email complaint by using my disclosure to back allegations of having put hands on him
10. He was informed that a previous live- in land lord has punched me into the face. Filling a row with him during the last to years, he commented that there must have been a reason for the violence against me. He is denying this now. Sadly he used to make those comments when no witnesses were around
12) he is denying my accusation about having taken his mask off when in one room with me despite my objections.
13) he has provided a renvenche eviction last year after I sent an email demanding repairs within a particular time. That was because I have chased him for an entire year already and he just confirmed the extensions of the lease by another 6 months. my legal advisor had classed his section 21 notice as illegal and revenge. He did not proceed with court processes bit tried to lure me into signing a new agreement, stating that in return he would take back the eviction. My legal advisor told me that it is impossible to take back an eviction. It could only expire. My advisor strictly advised against signing a new rolling contract as it would have ruled out the revenche eviction once the new lease starts
10) he is sending out new rental agreements again now, a year after
without any explanation and transparency. and mutes when I tell him that I am on a stationary rolling contract which does not require a new written contract. I can just assume they wanted to hide changed terms within this 25 pages long contract. Yes 25 pages.

All negative reviews about this branch contain Peter's name.

The customer support on the website refused to confirm the address the adress of the head quarters, telling me that they have none.

There is no complaint policy in place.

Peter Stinson is the reason why I installed security cameras in my home and make sure that I have neighboors as witnesses in when he shows up.

Exceptional service

Exceptional service, took on Monday morning guess what already received a deposit on Monday evening. Great communication with Denis , Deepak and everyone else, contract done as requested, reasonable fees, will not be using any otger agency neither sellings nor lettings. Highly recommended.

Tonbridge Branch one word AMAZING
Brought a house in just 6 weeks, they helped every step of the way, going above and beyond to help even when the solicitors were useless.
I cannot thank them enough for making me feel so confident to ask any questions no matter how small or silly they may have been.
Highly recommend this company especially Lynne who made the process less stressful and more of a fun enjoyable thing to do.

I would say never buy or rent with this agency. Money grabber especially when it’s come to returning your own deposit which they ask you’re before renting. 3 months now already another tenant started living just within 5 days after we left the place, which I use to rent but they're still bringing up a different situation and problem ever time we justify the blames. Just need to take money from our deposit. Just watch for the scam especially when it’s come to carpets and paint when we rented there was the tenant who was living more than 10 years after then we rented and nothing was cleaned and the wall was full of mould and carpet was sainted and dusty and bathroom walls were covered with mould. As we wanted to rent the place badly we just jump into it and was my first time renting. Nothing was cleaned professionally. But before we left we cleaned the property cleaned and sparkling as due to covid we were more aware of deep cleaning. Secondly, we were told they're going to paint the place last year but due to covid and winter time we did not agree to and now what we came to know is we are responsible for wear and tear of carpet which was over 15 years old and they’re asking money for painting the whole apartment which was already covered with mould by the previous tenant and for professional cleaning. I could understand due to covid cleaning matters but. I really don’t get why we have to pay for old carpet and painting which the agency already agreed earlier. Please be aware this should not happen to someone else that why I had to write this down. I was tired of phone conversions and delaying to return my own money so I just gave up and paid the amounts.

Awful management

The management is so incredibly rude and unhelpful. Junior staff is actually helpful it's the management that is absolutely awful. The manager of the branch has started shouting 'I am the manager' here when asked to simply provide information about unfortunate situation. They have let the property rot with the tenants before us and have treated us so unfairly. Also they do not have a complaints policy, which is really worrying! I dont think they treat us landlords, tenants or their staff fairly and professionally.

Worst customer services ever

Worst customer services by the estate agent in Sidcup branch, I have lived 4.5 years in one of their letting flat in grove park London.The sale agent is totally unprofessional, rude and dishonest.This branch only posts good reviews on their site for promoting themselves. They have taken my whole deposit by unfair excuses and false allegations. Would never recommend anyone to use their services again.

FANTASTIC SERVICE FROM GOLDERS GREEN BRANCH

Alicia Casingena was my first contact at the branch – was welcoming, good customer service, and gave a very good first impression of the company. The first chat felt like we had been friends for a long time. Because she works in the sales department, she put me in touch with the lettings team.

Mellissa Sornio was our main point of contact throughout the process. She always kept in contact with us and passed on her details so that we were able to contact her anytime with any questions or inquiries. She was super-efficient in answering our emails and messages and remained professional, polite friendly, and knowledgeable throughout the process. Whenever she wasn't reachable her colleague Joanna was at hand to help.

James Ryan showed us around. He was polite and made my partner and I feel so comfortable looking around the house
I am not in the habit of doing reviews but these guys deserve big credit!

Bethnal Green branch was great

We rented a flat for more than a year with Ellis and Co, this was in 2017-2018. We were unlucky with our landlady who would contact us directly in a rude way when we realised that we had bed bugs in the first week we moved in. We wanted the house to be cleaned up and contacted the agent (Ashley) about it and she was super upset and came to the house without warning, and told Ashley’s manager that he couldn’t contact us no more. She saw our place once when she came without warning, she didn’t even know the flat she was renting (she must have several) and in the end of our contract she gave our new landlord a bad review about us, saying that we didn’t pay the rent on time and that the flat was damaged. This was all a lie and Ashley stood there for us and was able to fix everything when I emailed him super late in the day, he spoke to the new agency after his work hours and everything was good. So I can say that we had a great experience with the Bethnal Green branch.

Do not work for Ellis and Co

I worked at Ellis and Co within Lettings/Sales. It was the worst experience. The Senior Management made sexist and homophobic remarks directly at me. I was also verbally assaulted by management and no further action was taken against them.
I was also informed whilst I was working there one of my female colleagues had no employment contract and she had been working there for over 2 years. I was forced out of the company after one of their managers was consistently bullying me and singling me out. I was a consultant high performer there.The management were aware of this and did nothing despite everything being documented. Before I left they also made several false claims about me. We were also told to reduce using the heating and air con in the office to reduce electricity bills which is a health and safetly issue.

More time managing the property manager than the property!!!

When you spend more time managing a property manager than you would managing the property there is something wrong.

Ellis & Co's management of our property has been appalling. Staff change frequently and there is no continuity. Often we are not even informed when the property manager changes. Problems fall between the cracks and get worse before they are dealt with, creating more cost.

Worse still, they take no responsibility whatsoever for their failings and lack of service. The Manager can't even be bothered to arrange a time to call and discuss the problems, delegating to someone else to send a terse and aggressive email effectively burying their head in the sand and refusing to deal with the problem as they are too busy.

I would be ashamed to be associated with this company. Find one that cares.

I called today in regards a property I…

I called today in regards a property I found on their website. The guy who I don’t know the name and hope to don’t talk to him anymore was questioning a lot about my family and I, also if our income would cover double of the rent was asked few times. I asked to book a viewing he said that at the moment it’s not possible, all what I could see is the outside and the back of the house as with this Coronavirus situation they are not booking viewings. I found it weird and when I question him if people were renting houses like this (without having a look inside the house) as I’m looking for few properties in the last two weeks and nobody said it; he started shouting at me for no reason. Even were I come from he was questioning! I’m not surprised to see so many bad reviews. Horrible experience!!!!

AVOID!

I feel sorry for the people who are using this agent. I have tried to get them to call me back to view a property for around two weeks. When I called they either told me someone will call me back, other times that the property is under offer, then said oh actually they can show us the place the agent is out so they will call us back. I never received any callback. Btw when the person said the property is under offer he didn't even care to take my details. Are you a sales agent?! The man speaking on the phone sounds tired of life and clearly tired of his work. As much as I hate some pushy London estate agents at least they get things done.

If you are renting out your place or selling a property:

I am completely shocked and bewildered by the behavior of Mathew at the Edmonton branch. He was extremely rude, aggressive and hung up on me. We have instructed Ellis and co on behalf of a client and when we called to follow this up his conduct was so poor and shocking that I would never, ever, recommend any of our clients to use Ellis and Co.

A terrible experience. Unprofessional, rude and really pushy! Trying to get me to pay before I had even seen the flat. I told the agent I wasn’t going to pay almost 2k for a place I hadn’t seen, his response was that’s just how London works and it’s my choice if I want to be homeless! I will not be coming back.
