Wolverhampton address there is a different company there, driver hire DO NOT excist at 4-5 Victoria Square Wolverhampton

Phone number goes through to CANNOCK 01543 (not Wolverhampton) and no- one ever answers the phone.

Could they be running a scam to get people details? I don't know but it makes me wonder

It's part of a network of over 100 offices across the UK and we've been going for over 40 years. However the office at Victoria Square is an old address. I was looking for temporary work and Diver Hire Sheffield placed me on several assignments which suited me perfectly. I received pay correctly and on time. I found the staff at Driver Hire Sheffield to be friendly, professional and genuine. I would definitely work for them again which speaks volumes. Recommended from me

No care for clients

Constant marketing emails and cold calls saying they are 24/7 from Driver Hire Nottingham. As soon as we send a request a week in advance to book a driver we are ignored leaving us without staffing. Not even an apology!

Driver hire Nottingham are great

We use Driver hire Nottingham and they are excellent. Even at short notice they can get us the cover we need. Lizzie is lovely and always brightens my day on the phone. If you need a driver in the Notts area then no need to look much further than Driver hire Nottingham

Good experience

I called Driver hire in the morning and got an appointment for the afternoon. After talking with the team for a short interview they placed me straight away and I started working on the Monday. They communicate when necessary.. otherwise they leave you to do your job. Money has always been paid on time. I’ve also needed time off due to personal reasons and they have been very understanding and helpful. Overall good experience.

Driver Hire is great

Working for Driver Hire has been an absolute pleasure. They are genuinely the best agency I’ve ever worked for. They always pay on time, never a single issue, and the entire team is incredibly supportive, friendly, and professional. Communication is clear, they treat you with respect.

If you want an agency that values you, looks after you, and keeps everything running smoothly, Driver Hire is the one. Highly recommend!

All-in-all: Avoid and find work elsewhere.

I contacted different DH offices about vacancies and, finally, heard back from an agent in the Chesterfield & Worksop offices.
I explained my interest in the position and was asked to complete the online registration - I did so the same day and received a Terms of Engagement from them.

Three days later, and having heard nothing from the office despite emails and phone calls - I gave up expecting to hear from them.

Seven days after completing the online application, I received a phone call from the agent who said, similar to, "You never uploaded your documents so we couldn't go ahead."
I knew I had, but gave them the benefit of the doubt. I resent all documents via Whatsapp and email - being promised a job starting the next day "as soon as you send over I will send confirmation for this"

Again, no further contact.

The next day, I rang multiple times, eventually speaking to the agent who, this time, said "Oh, you never confirmed you wanted the job so it's gone to someone else".
After explaining that I'm still interested in working for them, the agent told me to wait for a call back within 30 minutes as he had a client looking for someone "to start tomorrow".
It's now 20:23 at night and still no information - not even a "sorry, but no."

I feel like I've been scammed by an organisation who want employee profiles on their books to lure in prospective companies but have no real jobs on offer.

Above and beyond every step of the way

I’ve had my fair share of disappointing experiences with other recruitment agencies, but Driver Hire Northampton has completely changed my perspective. Tierney and Claire in particular have gone above and beyond in every way—sourcing roles that truly match my skills and abilities, and supporting me to progress in my career, making me feel genuinely valued.

Unlike other agencies where I felt like just another number, here I’ve felt very supported. They take the time to understand what I’m capable of and what I want from my career, and their dedication shows in the opportunities they find and the guidance they provide. I can’t recommend them highly enough—if you’re looking for an agency that actually cares and goes the extra mile, Driver Hire is the one to choose!

Reliability with Freedom

I found myself without full time employment and started working for this agency as a temporary measure. This was around a year and a half ago now and I very rarely have less than 4 days work a week.

They pay on time and are accurate with their payments too.
I haven't gone back into full time employment yet as I like the variety of work and the freedom to take holidays as and when I want them not when a company says I can.

Reliable and consistent agency, would highly recommend.

Regarding the Reading Branch

Regarding the Reading Branch; We’re a waste business that doesn’t often post negative feedback, but our troubling experience with Driver Hire forces us to caution others. We urge companies, particularly those needing reliable HGV drivers, to steer clear of this agency due to their substandard driver vetting and refusal to take responsibility for serious incidents. Their drivers caused £4,500 in damage to our vehicles (£3,500 for a coolant tank, £1,000 for HGV damage from careless reversing). Worse, another driver stole equipment, requiring police involvement. We provided evidence and sought a fair reduction on invoices (per their Terms of Business, Clause 12.1 for unsuitability), but Driver Hire rejected our concerns outright, demanded full payment, and showed no willingness to negotiate. Their dismissive attitude and failure to ensure competent, trustworthy drivers (Clause 5.1, Conduct Regulations 2003) have caused us significant financial and operational headaches. Businesses in logistics should consider other agencies to avoid the risks and costs we’ve faced with Driver Hire.

Reading branch - more than disappointing

Regarding Reading branch
As a waste management company reliant on HGV drivers, we rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience with Driver Hire compels us to warn other businesses. We strongly recommend avoiding this agency due to serious issues with driver quality, including vehicle damage and theft, and their refusal to address legitimate concerns.
Two drivers supplied by Driver Hire caused £4,500 in vehicle damage (£3,500 coolant tank replacement, £1,000 HGV damage from reckless reversing) during recent assignments. Additionally, another driver stole equipment from our premises, necessitating police reporting and handling. Despite providing evidence and requesting a partial invoice reduction (citing their Terms of Business, Clause 12.1 for unsuitability), Driver Hire dismissed our concerns, refused any compromise, and demanded full payment. Their response was confrontational, ignoring their obligation to provide suitably qualified and trustworthy drivers (Clause 5.1 and Conduct of Employment Agencies Regulations 2003).
This lack of accountability, poor driver vetting, and failure to address serious incidents like theft and damage put our operations and compliance at risk. Other companies, especially in transport, should think twice before using Driver Hire to avoid similar costly and disruptive issues.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Where do I start about this horrible company and it’s employees or specifically one, the first and only job I got through driver hire was unbelievable incompetent as in I got there I was handed some keys and paper work like I had been working there years, and that was literally it no explanation or guidance or nothing all the things you’d expect being a driver as in Ratchet straps, emergency contacts incase of emergency the list could go on but it’s not about that company it’s about how the employee who represents driver hire dealt with it. I then received a phone call from driver hire from someone who was swearing and shouting who kept talking over me, I didn’t even get chance to explain what had happened and why I left before he hung the phone up on me for him to then send me an abusive message swearing yet again and calling me a Prat, so I made a complaint to head office/richard which was absolutely pointless because all they done was got the same horrible person to ring me back no apology or nothing just shouting and talking over me AGAIN!! And then received yet another message saying I won’t be getting any more shifts through them.
I am deeply shocked and appalled by the lack of professionalism from an employee who is supposed to be representing the company someone who lacks phone etiquette that badly and who clearly has issues with anger should not be in the position his in answering calls from the public on a daily basis. I was looking into get more skills through there company such as HIAB, ADR etc to open up more opportunities but I will be taking my money elsewhere and anyone reading this I highly recommend you do the same.
