Misleading photographs of product

I bought 3 extension sockets from this company because their advert showed one that was the smallest on the market, the same as one I already had.
The ones that arrived were about 40% bigger and I could have got these anywhere. I contacted their customer services and was told that; their terms and conditions ( 3698 words long) said "All images are for illustration purposes only" and that the dimensions were in the description." Further, not only would they not refund the cost of post and packing, but I would have to cover the cost of returning them too. I have kept these extension sockets as returning them would only get me back 1/2 of the money expended, but I now have to look elsewhere for the small sockets. There's a reason why customers buy from Amazon and the like with their no quibble money back policy. With service like this I would never buy from them again. Be very sure the product is exactly what you want, because you won't get a second chance.

Fast delivery

I cannot say anything bad about the delivery because that was excellent. The only thing I would say is that it was easy to assemble but I did not think it was worth what I paid for it. It said it was ok for outdoors which is what I bought it for but I didn't think it was sturdy enough for the windy and wet weather that we have so I keep it indoors. It would be good to put in a porch or conservatory. Its quite nice lit up and the lights are really good and work well and you can have them on different settings so its not all that bad.

Change your parcels delivery company…

Change your parcels delivery company DX. How I can get my parcel if DX doesn’t have local collections points, can’t leave parcel to neighbours because signature is required. Can’t book delivery on weekend because DX don’t do deliveries on weekend

Do not use this company

Do not use this company. Customer service is nil. Attitude & behaviours are to ignore customers who they owe refunds to. The worst company I have ever had the misfortune to buy something from and they are a verified seller on B&Q so be careful you do not purchase from them accidentally. Disgraceful

Ordered off DIY Direct and item was…

Ordered off DIY Direct and item was supposed to be royal mail first class, however when you type in the tracking number royal mail don't recognise this. Been waiting over a week now and like other reviews have said "it's just a made up tracking number". Stay away from this company.

Customer service make up impossible stories I got sent shoddy door handles that were too tight so the springs in the rim lock can’t turn them. The returns processing is just made to put you off sending anything’s back and you have to pay to return everything DO NOT USE

Sent wrong item

I ordered 20 metre roll of lining paper.....very simple thing to do , WRONG!!!!!

Went onto my eBay account and typed in lining paper and this company came up....so seen the picture and description of 20 metre roll of basic lining paper and ordered it ....simple, WRONG!!!!!
I was delivered a bag of wallpaper paste!!!!

I wasn't home when the delivery arrived, or I would have realized the mistake and refused the delivery.....I get a knock at the door my neighbor....he said delivery for you.
I thought it was a item I ordered on Freeprints,so opened it.
Just couldn't understand why my name was on the package of a packet of wallpaper paste.....then realized it was from this company.
The delivery company never even left a note telling me it was delivered to my neighbor.
It gets worse.....the wallpaper paste comes in a clear wrapper and doesn't even have instructions on how to mix it ....so that was as binned!!!!!

I contacted the company about the issue and they said I made a error, when I ordered the lining paper.
So I went back to the order details and it clearly says 20metre of lining paper.

This company is a no no....you have been warned.

Customer service is easily the worst I've came across.

I've got accounts with Amazon,next,Argos,B&Q, JD sports etc etc and never ever dealt with anything close to this nonsense.

Terrible company....

Brilliant experience

Brilliant experience. I ordered two tins of garden paint one afternoon, at a good price with a small amount added for delivery, and they arrived during the afternoon of the following day. Couldn't have asked for better service. I shall use them again without hesitation.

NON-EXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE

Ordered an item in October, it never arrived, but only found this out recently (been ordering lots of DIY items for a project). Emailed to ask what happened to item. Told that as order was over 30 days old they could not look into it. I should have realised not to buy from DIY-direct.co.uk as there is no physical address on their website - a typical sign of scam merchants. My own fault. So they've got £17 of my money and either never sent the item or it was lost in transit, and won't look into it because the transaction is more than 30 days old. In my book, that's fraud. There was a tracking number on the order I was emailed that did not make any sense on Royal Mail and there was no explanation of what service the tracking number related to - poor business practice. Not even a hint from them of 'let me look into this and see what I can do'. A straight forward 'computer says no'. BUYER BEWARE.

A five star supplier

I ordered three tins of Cuprinol garden paint. DIY-Direct despatched these the same day in the best packaging that I have ever seen, which totally protected the tins in transit. I phoned the company with a query about the order and the young lady who answered the phone was very friendly, efficient and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend them and they will be my first choice for future paint supplies.

Horrendous!

Really shockingly poor company to deal with. Purchased one of their ronseal products through amazon and when I went to use it realised it was faulty. Spoke to them on the phone and explained. They called back to tell me they'd spoke to ronseal and they had no issues with the product and therefore 'its not faulty'. They wanted me to wait over a week for ronseal to get in touch with me amd refused to replace/refund the product. Ended up having to get amazon to step in who advised me to send the product back to them and should they fail to refund me amazon would sort it. Phoned DIY Direct to tell them this is what I was doing and as soon as they knew amazon were involved the tone changed and now they were happy to refund me .. Great eh? Nope. Sent it back and got an email 2 days later telling me they had tested the product, could find no fault with it and now we're refusing to refund me. Contacted amazon who have been brilliant but this company are a joke and while they may be okay as long as the product works as intended I would hate for anyone to have to try and get a faulty product replaced pr refunded. AVOID!!

We asked the customer to provide photos of the fault on his decking as he was unhappy with the colour, but unfortunately he did not provide this. We did receive photos of the product inside the tin and on a piece of paper which was forwarded onto Ronseal. They confirmed that they could see no issue with the product and therefore the customer would need to contact them directly to investigate it further. Unfortunately the customer was unwilling to provide these details or communicate with Ronseal. When Amazon was mentioned there was no change in tone as we still advised that if the product came back and it was not faulty, that we would be unable to issue a refund as a third of the tin had been used and it was in an unsaleable condition. Once the item was received back to us it was tested and again no fault could be found. We have confirmed with Ronseal again and there is no fault to be found in this batch. Therefore we were unable to issue a refund. We never advised the customer to return the product, nor did we say that we would issue a refund (unless it was found to be faulty)

I've been treated and deeply upset with attitude and how they deal with issues.

I would strongly avoid purchasing from this Business.

You asked me to file down the product !!!!!and offer a 10% discount

The reply is not true and you have insulted me and done everything not to help

I would stongly recommend to not use this company they trade under chapel interiors

Shame on you !!!

We've offered a partial refund if you're happy to keep the item, offered a free return of the faulty part for a replacement part or we offered to collect the item from you and process a full refund.

Excellent Customer Service

I ordered a tin of Liberon finishing oil which arrived so crushed that it wouldn't stand up and the tin was tacky because some oil had leaked. I spoke with Sophie and offered to send a photograph showing the damage. That same day Sophie put a replacement tin in the post which arrived in good condition. - Great service from DIY-Direct.

Excellent company

Having bought a tree in the sale last year, unpacked to find, I thought, a branch missing. Phoned Sophie who could not have been more helpful and, the same day, offered an apology and discount.
Subsequently found branch tangled up with another so product fine after all.
Very impressed with this company’s promptness and pro active after sales service.

Great lights, great price!

Having searched for the right type and length of Christmas lights at a reasonable price I stumbled across DIY Direct. I read the trust pilot reviews and although slightly sceptical due to the couple of bad ones (and what seemed like a price too good to be true) I went ahead and ordered anyway. So glad I did! I had to contact customer services due to a delay with shipping, but Sophie was prompt and helpful, offering to check out where the order was and come back to me. The delay was due to the high volume of deliveries with the courier due to Black Friday, and the lights have now arrived and are perfect, just what I was looking for. Thank you :-)

8ft Christmas tree was a nightmare.

If you say its blue the customer service team will tell you its red.

Best not to argue with them, they will just mock you and make fun of you.

It's the worst customer service I would ever want to meet. I am disabled so I am shielding. I did not want spend more money I did not have to send it back. Wasted money that I needed. Ended up trying to make a positive by donating the tree to my church.

If you remember triggers broom in only fools and horses, well this tree had a different stand, different colour and measurements were different. Apart from that it was the correct tree.
