I was very disappointed in my recent stay at the clubaun hotel. The staff were pleasant, yes. Food was also decent.
Pool was very grubby (green) as were the changing rooms in the leisure centre.
Worst part of the stay was the room!
The beds were all completely worn out. The queen i slept in had my back broken by the morning. The singles for my kids were worse off.
The room cost me 230€ for one night in mid January. For this type of money I would at the very least expect a decent bed to sleep in.
Won't go back there again and would not recommend this hotel for anyone.

I stayed in the Clybaun Hotel in Galway in August for two nights, checking in on the Thursday. Booked a twin room and it was very spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful. I celebrated my birthday there and the staff brought out the cake to me. The hotel has excellent facilities with a lovely swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. On arrival myself, eleven old son and husband had dinner in the bar. Although the menu was much the same as everywhere else, it was great to find a menu with daily main course specials that is traditional turkey and ham. My son loved the children’s menu, particularly the burger. On our last morning at breakfast the restaurant supervisor kindly asked my son if he wanted a pancake. This went down a treat! Overall, our experience was good for a hotel a little off the beaten track in terms of the distance from Galway city. This was not an issue for us as we were driving. However, that depends on what side of Galway you want to explore. One of the advantages of this hotel is, it is a great base for accessing the road to Connemara, the heart of the Gaeltacht Casla and the Wild Atlantic Way.
