It's always very disappointing to order…
It's always very disappointing to order anything fresh from the app. You're guaranteed to always get stuff that's near expired. Especially bread and meat . And th fruit....you get the rejects ....the tiniest banana the green ones that everyone shoves to the side! Yet we pay for the service. Service used to be great but now it's either delayed or you get poor quality products or theyr out of stock! Very frustrating.

The 60 Sixty services definitely needs better management. I have had good experiences in the past however, on my last order. The meat items were missing. According to customer services all the items were meant to be in the 4 bags that were delivered.

I am appalled at the service I received from one of the cashiers at checker hyper in gateway (Umhlanga). I had purchased and had requested to receive atleast two R50 notes at the R200 bill I had received. I had to go to other tills to get change and the cashiers had not shown any consideration with making my experience easy. I have never seen such poor conderation for customer experience. I love shopping at Checkers but the service I received from gateway was just disgusting which is such a shame.

They messed up my order and the part they did get right was stale!
When I asked for a manager to call me to explain what happened, all I got was a rude lady asking me “What is it that you actually want?!”
I’m not sure if that is how you treat a customer but I didn’t want anything besides a proper explanation as to what had happened.
Checkers you should seriously train your managers to have manners and realise that if they mess up someone event by messing up the order… it isn’t the customers fault!

Really not good service, one order because you want your stuff delivered in an hour. It's been 1hour.15 15 min and they have not even started shopping for my stuff !!!
Checkers going downhill
I have been a loyal checkers 60 customer since lockdown. I thought it was the most brilliant idea, and for the first few years i had no problems with my orders. Drivers were always professional kind, fruit and veg was fresh, products were not expired.
Now in 2024 i am finally writing a reveiw after receiving the 6th expired chicken. You may be wandering why I didn’t stop ordering chicken after the 5th rotten bird, the answer is because im stubborn and waiting for them to get it right and check their damn chickens, and also because i do not have the time to go to the shops myself, i pay 99 rand a month for free deliveries ( which might i add is a bit of a scam cause its free if you spend over R350). While the chicken has to be my biggest and most digusting vice- i can also say that its not often that my order arrives in perfect condition. Either the vegetables arw VISIBLY off- like smoosh and a goo in a packet, somethings missing or not at all what i ordered , or expired. What baffles me is WHY on earth do the shoppers not take a quick glance at what they are putting in the trolley, or check the expiration dates, or at least look to see if what they are packing is at normal or completely mooshed up. I understand it cant be the greatest job doing others peoples chores for them, but it is still the job and some, even the tinest bit of effort would go a long way. What i still love about checkers and is why i have given 3 stars instead of one - excellent customer service ( only on one occasion did i have an incredibly rude lady who refused to give me her reference number or remind me of her name at the end of the call) otherwise the staff have only been helpful and kind- even when my calls must be the last thing they want to answer. Highly commendable. I LOVE the app layout, its fun and easy to navigate, most of all i always have a laugh at some of the category names because they are brilliant, is definitely the best app in terms of layout out of all other delivery services.
Whats letting them down is the shoppers. And possibly the cooks because if i can smell the chicken from outside my door then you can definitely smell and see its bad before you shove it in the oven and cover it in lemon and herb. Its just wrong

Wooow this is becoming a norm. I ordered food via sixty60, and received a Danone expired 30 May 2024, last month I ordered wors for my mom and it was rotten. Hence I am saying it’s becoming a norm. I am disappointed 🤦🏽♀️😟

I was a customer on the 1st of June 2024, at Checkers Mtubatuba. I heard a woman shouting, from the managers office. It turns out the branch manager was actually shouting at an employee. It is common for employees to be called to the manager's office, but it is unacceptible for them to be ill treated.
Phindile Nxumalo, who is said to be the branch manager at Checkers Mtubatuba, was inhumanely rude to the employee. It is inhumane to tell an employee that you feed them, that they buy their clothes with the money you pay them with, while calling them "Yey wena ntombazane" at the top of your lungs. This is but just a few of the hurtful things she said to the employee. She (Phindile Nxumalo), undoubtedly came accross as a bully.
I was puzzled and greatly bothered, as you can imagine that the discussion happened in the office, but we as the customers on the floor could hear every single word uttered. The discussion did not seem as though the employee had committed a grave crime, as the story was that the employee seemingly works at the Liquor department.
A certain male went into the liquor store earlier that day, and asked for cash back from this employee. The employee's response to him was that she did not have money for cash back and the man should try asking from the big store, as they were bussier and were most likely the ones to have the cash the man needed. She (the employee), was then called to the branch managers office, after the gentleman reported her.
I then just heard the staff around mentioning that "there she has started again", when I asked what they meant, they stated that Phindile Nxumalo often did this. She often ridiclulled the staff as well as insulted them. Statistically, apperantly Checkers at Mtubatuba hardly keeps employees, as the enviroment created by Phindile Nxumalo is toxic.
I then asked why they do not report her, they stated that she is often reported but the entity seems to not take these matters seriously. No one that has ever filled a complaint, has been called to atleast explain their complaint.
This is absolutely ridiculous and SHOULD be taken seriously, bullying is unaccepible, even at the work place.

Disrespect and Racism - Checkers Zambezi Junction
I visited checkers Zambezi junction today on 25/04/2024 @ 18:30 and I am disgusted with the service I have received.
When I got to the till:
1. The lady didn't greet me
2. The lady asked for my store card and I told her that I've never had one but she can issue one for me. She then said they do not have stock for store cards.
3. The lady spoke to 3 of her colleagues in their language saying that I am holding up the queue and I am wasting her time. One of the other ladies went and asked another customer to please borrow their store card.
4. After paying for my groceries I asked the lady at the till that was assisting me if I could speak to the manager. She replied in her language to her colleagues that I want to cause problems and then she went on and laughed in my face.
5. After 10 minutes of waiting for the store manager, he finally arrived and I went and explained the situation. The manager didn't even have any sympathy towards the situation I was put in.
The disrespect and racism I have experienced today is just unbelievable. To treat a paying customer the way I was treated today is just disgusting.
I would never recommend Checkers Zambezi Junction to anyone.

Checkers Knysna have always been great with 60/60 deliveries but today they out did themselves. 18 minutes after ordering my stuff arrived, I live 8 minutes away. Well done

Sold me prawns that were off and refused a refund!
An absolutely horrible experience. I’d orderd prawns on Sixty60. Prepared them for a big Eid lunch for my family and extended family only to be mortified that the prawns were off! It was excruciatingly embarrassing! Imagine the scene as people are eating and realising the prawns are off and one by one coming to tell me to take it off the table! Topping it all off when I called to request a refund they politely said no, I need the boxes as proof. Now you tell me, who keeps the boxes of frozen food items!? It’s not a TV!! If I get calls from family members saying they got food poisoning then I’m going escalate this as far as possible! How **********!! And to think I was so impressed with checkers customer service before this! I would like my refund please! And the fact that the prawns were on special proves that they knew these prawns were on their way out or already bad!! Why still put it up for sale!!! They were trying to get rid of it, and they know very well that’s it’s a hot Eid lunch item and that it would sell! Taking advantage of the patrons need for them!

Save your time and don’t order .
If you’re keen to wait 5 hours for your groceries then this is perfect.
Not only will they not provide a reason for an order taking 5-6 hours to get delivered when I live thirty minutes away.
They also won’t provide an apology for their incompetence.
Today I tried to make an order at around 8am. Guess what latest delivery was around 11 am. Why would I wait 3 hours for my groceries ?
I decided not to order.
It’s 4 in the afternoon and their lastest delivery is tomorrow 8am. Now I could walk to the shop and buy the stuff myself .
Why have a delivery service branded as 60 minutes if it won’t arrive in 60 minutes.
Please consider rebranding to CheckersPerhaps .
At least then, I’ll know what perhaps I might buy groceries today and perhaps I might now.
Refunded Within Less Than An Hour
About 2 weeks ago I ordered a ton of Checkers 60/60 specials, and a lot went wrong. Either only one item from two bought showed up, or neither of the items out of the two bought showed up, with 4 items in total having been paid for, but missing. When I called the 60/60 helpline, they immediately refunded me, and when I called our local Checkers, they apologised profusely. I appreciate that. Thank you for answering the phone and thank you for correcting your mistake. To err is human after all. Thank you, Checkers.
