Awful company. Unfair charges with signage not clear with ridiculous penalties. Even if you try appeal with legitimate evidence they’ll still enforce their fines and reject your appeal.

Awful

Awful company. Unfair charges with signage not clear with ridiculous penalties. Even if you try appeal with legitimate evidence they’ll still enforce their fines and reject your appeal.

1 star because I cannot go lower

1 star because I cannot go lower! fined on a Sunday morning whilst visiting the emergency vets which resulted in my dog being put to sleep. I appealed and supplied the invoice from the vets confirming that our dog had been put to sleep. Just received a note back saying despite the circumstances the fine is still relevant and 14 days to which to pay. Gobsmacked!!! How can they enforce fines at an emergency vets???? to make matters worse it was 8am on the Sunday so no other shops were open until 10am!! so hardly overstaying my welcome. Would love the chance to argue in court.

Could not leave Edinburgh Quay car park

Edinburgh Quay.
Payment machine issued receipt but did not return ticket, so I couldn't leave car park. Told several drivers not to enter. No reply when calling help number.
Returned to pay machine 10 min after to try to find alternative way out - and ticket had then been returned (was sticking out of machine) Paid again with debit not credit card, and only then was asked to leave.
Customer service finally called me another 15 min later (so half an hour after I called them) and said they would just leave the barriers open because no one could pay

Disgraceful this company is and it should be stopped.
How can you buy the ticket then BPA sends
you a charge notice of £100 for no payment!
I took this to POPLA on appeal and they dismissed the claim.
Surly you check these first before you go charging in and making a claim.!!!!

Received a parking charge notice to…

Received a parking charge notice to keeper despite purchasing a parking ticket on the date in question.

The invoice is worded to trigger fear, making reference to signage and that failure to pay a charge will result in debt recovery.

Time taken to comply with the appeals requirement, to make a formal complaint and unable to locate a contact number for Britannia parking to escalate my concerns.

I will never use a Britannia car park again

Absolutely disgraceful company had to…

Absolutely disgraceful company had to pay £60 fine for my elderly father who tried to park in their car park at red lion in fareham unfortunately after stopping leaving car to pay for parking he could not work the card payment due to him being 83 and not being use to these sort of machines if they had bothered to check the cctv they would see him hobble as he has an ankle problem so is slow at walking anywhere to the machine eventually give up get in car then leave but no they want money so we won’t do that awful will avoid anywhere that’s involved with this disgusting company.

⭐ 1 Star – EV Drivers Be Careful

Very disappointing experience.

I entered this site only to use the EV charging station, not to use the car park as a normal parking customer. However, I later found that I was still required to pay a separate car park fee on top of using the charging service.

As an EV driver, this feels very unfair. When you arrive to charge your vehicle, you naturally expect to pay for the electricity you use, not to discover afterwards that an additional parking payment was also expected immediately on entry.

This setup is not customer-friendly and creates the impression that the system is designed to generate extra income from people who are simply trying to use the charging facilities.

For me, it is not about the amount paid, but about the principle. If EV users must also pay a separate parking fee, this should be made far clearer before they start charging.

I am leaving this review to warn other EV drivers: if you use this charging station, make sure you check the parking rules straight away, otherwise you may end up paying extra charges you did not expect.

As is usual with this company …

As usual with this company, the machine was out of service, any relevant signage was impossible to see in the dark and their insulting, aggressive tone as they conceded that we had not breached conditions was still intended to cause offence.
Everything that is wrong with the new method of making money out of innocent members of the public.
Please include a zero stars option.

I really hope someone twists your cameras into a ram’s horn! A pathetic company of idiots who don’t respond to appeals, send fines three months late, and try to extort money for time you weren’t even parked. You keep changing parking rules and work with the same kind of scumbags like BW Legal, who also try to squeeze more and more money out of people.I understand that you’ve reached a point where you’ll try to extract money from people by any means, but don’t forget there are those who won’t pay you a single penny. Go to hell and change your company name! You’re not Britain — you’re just a couple of stinking мошенников hiding behind big, loud names!!!!!People should avoid these jerks and their parking lots! Otherwise, you’ll end up paying for their constant rule changes and for the time your car isn’t even parked. So that the people in that company can gorge themselves on your money and sleep on the Maldives.They also put up signs everywhere saying they aren’t responsible for your car! They demand money but won’t take any responsibility. Yet they will send you unclear fines retroactively! Fraudsters.Your company should urgently be stripped of the name “Britannia,” along with all your businesses being shut down across England. Because you are a pathetic bunch of assholes who threaten people, demand money that people don’t owe, and deliberately ignore appeals.

Also, if someone exits the parking lot and it takes time, just like parking does, you send fines for 10 minutes of leaving your shitty parking lot! Then why don’t your machines have a 10-minute payment option? Why the hell should I pay you for an extra hour that I’m not even parked? Why are you trying to extract money when I haven’t signed or agreed to anything with you?
You’ve built your business on extorting people by force while making a profit! I really hope there will be people who shut down your business because you are just plain crooks.

Wrongfully fined - I suspect scam.

I parked in the car park managed by Britannia but owned by The Sun Hotel in Hitchin town centre. Residents of the hotel are not required to pay for parking, they just need to register their vehicle at reception so that is what I did. Britannia scum decided they couldn't be bothered to check if my vehicle was registered at the hotel and issued a fine. I provided proof of residence in my "appeal" which even Britannia scum decided was incontrovertible. However, in their email advising me that they wouldn't be collecting the fine, they still accused me of not complying with the registration rules and claimed to be letting me off out of the kindness of their hearts because it was my "first offence". After receiving that, I rather wish they had tried to take me to court so that they would have to incur all the costs of preparing their case before discovering that they didn't have one.

A crooked company! Try to avoid if you can. Machines, app and tel line all not working. They will still send a fine. Appeal is pointless.

NOT TO BE TRUSTED!!!

NOT TO BE TRUSTED!!!. This company shouldn't even be allowed to run as a business. I am a long term parking user and when I say long term I mean more than 1 year. I went on holiday and forgot 2 extend my payment for 1 day and half and received 2 PCN on the expiry date of the 14 discounted days. 1 day of parking is £6. The tickets £80 each. I live opposite to the car park and I noticed their employees all the time how they watch the cars and how they run after PCN. There are no costumers for them we are but sheep. Totally disgusted and disappointed. AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!!

Paid, Receipt Received & Still Had a Penalty Notice for All 3 Days of a Travelodge Stay

I stayed in the Travelodge in Chelmsford, a hotel to avoid. On top of that they use Britannia Parking for the charged car parking. I registered my car at the hotel desk, paid and then received a penalty notice for all three days. So inconvenient to have to spend my time appealing validated parking. I recommend you avoid this hotel as I will be doing from now on. I stayed for business, my client will no longer use the hotel and I will check who is contracted to manage car parks for future hotel bookings.

If I could give a zero I would. Absolute scam of a company. How they’re still allowed to run I have no idea. Charged me £60 fine when their machines were not working. Refused my appeal. Tried to pay it, their website wouldn’t accept payment, explained the situation all I got back was it’s working, they have now increased the payment to £170 and if I don’t pay it I will be taken to court. Scum

I parked to pick up my son from…

I parked to pick up my son from Birmingham new street train station. I had parked on the 3rd level. My son arrived around 11.30 and we were unable to access lifts or stairs, as escalators leading to these are closed off at 11.30. Instead we were told we had to leave the station and walk around to the car ramp to access stairs and lifts. Ramps had no pedestrian walk ways / path so we found ourselves dodging cars entering and leaving the car park in the pitch dark. No safe at all. Very disappointed

This Company should not be allowed to operate in this manner. I was ‘caught’ out when parked in a space waiting to pick a patient up from a hospital car park. I was actually sitting in the car. Of course, the photos they provided are ‘cropped’so that I can’t be seen sitting behind the wheel. If I had gone into the reception area of the hospital I’m sure I would have seen the tablet and registered my car. I appealed the £100 charge immediately and more than 14 days later received a notification that I now need to provide a copy of the patient’s appointment details. If it’s not provided within their own 28 day time limit I could lose my appeal. I’m tempted to let them take me to court, and let a judge decide if it’s fair or not.

Complete leaches.

Complete leaches.
Absolutely awful Registered my number plate when parking but I forgot to take a photo of it to prove it.
So now I have to pay 100 pounds for there machine not working properly and can not prove I put my number plate in.

I hope who ever runs this company rots in hell.
