Cannot Settle your Finance without massive interest applied right from Day one.
This is a awful not helpful big money monster of a company only interested in making massive profits and won't let customers settle finance early without massive penalties.
Customer service is awful and completely incompetent.
We bought a Company Car through Sytner BMW who set us up with this Company for the remaining balance for the new Car on PCP finance, After looking into the finance package we decided to pay the balance in full within the 1st 8 days of the agreement being set up, to our astonishment they wanted over £500.00 in Interest which worked out at £60.00 plus a day in interest WOW.
We logged a complaint and they told us it will take up to 8 weeks to get a decision on our complaint about this extortionately high interest which would have took us into another higher Interest payment to settle which they new about its just a tactic to extract more money out of the customer, we worked this out straight away no morals at all.
We chased the complaint up numerous times within the 8 week period, spent money on calls and spent hours on calls getting terrible responses and getting sent down the garden path "as the saying goes" by numerous representatives going from pillow to post without any answers or moving the complaint forward.
We also got Sytner BMW (Sheffield) involved that was a complete waste of time, They were part responsible for this debacle as they sold me the finance with Blackhorse instead of using there own BMW Finance (Must have been making more money out of the Blackhorse package would be my guess) so if you are buying a New Vehicle check what Finance Company the Dealership are using before you sign the deal as you don't want these.
We decided to settle the outstanding Finance with the front loaded high interest about three and half weeks after the purchase of the new car with the complaint still outstanding, We then had a text update saying the complaint had gone over the 8 week timescale they said it would have been to reach a decision, Another shambles.
We then received the decision in writing about 11 weeks after the original complaint was logged telling us they weren't doing anything in regards to reducing the high interest they'd applied to the early settlement figure, WHAT A SURPRISE NOT...........
We can't be bothered to go to the Ombudsman to appeal the complaint has the stress has taken us over the edge already after 11 weeks of misery so we've had to take it on the chin as a very costly mistake using this company we now need to move on.

I have been a customer with Black Horse for almost a year, and my experience has been nothing short of frustrating and stressful. My car had issues from the start, yet Black Horse relied too heavily on the dealer, failed to gather any independent evidence, and repeatedly missed deadlines I set.
They did not disclose my car’s diagnosis when requested, offered no answers or solutions, never provided a replacement vehicle, and did not pause my payments so I could arrange a hire car. The lack of a fair, thorough, and transparent investigation left me completely stressed, inconvenienced, and disrupted.
It was only after my second complaint to the Financial Ombudsman that Black Horse finally took any meaningful action. Even then, they effectively paid me off and accepted the car back in a way that meant the Ombudsman would not need to investigate, rather than providing a proper resolution. I had to drive the process at every stage, which is unacceptable for any customer.
I would strongly caution anyone considering their services—resolving issues can be extremely difficult, and you may need to escalate externally before anything happens.

Hi folks,if you currently have any form of finance whether be motor,caravan or motorhome finance with Blackhorse and you make payments online.Please DO NOT make any payments online through the customer website as I made a payment on the 13th January and its still sitting in my bank account as pending although I had funds in there.Your best to make a payment over the phone.
Horrible people to do business with!!
They are the most horrible people ever. Had a bereavement and asked for a month or two break from my monthly car finance so I can use the money to buy a ticket and add for my dad’s funeral who sadly passed. Bearing in mind that I had never defaulted in 3 years that I have been paying for the car. They refused saying if I go ahead they will notify the credit agency and I’m trying to buy a property knowing what impact this will have on credit score I had to get a loan to buy my ticket to travel for my dad’s funeral.
I gladly returned the car I refuse to do business with people without an element of compassion. I really hope no one goes to Blackhorse again to do any form of business.
We no longer feel safe driving the car we are still forced to pay for
This has been one of the most stressful and upsetting experiences we have ever had with a finance company.
We financed a car through Black Horse and within less than six months, it broke down. It was later discovered that the vehicle had been involved in a major accident before we bought it, something that was never disclosed to us. Documentation relating to this was actually found inside the car itself.
Since then, the vehicle has been in and out of the garage multiple times. The most frightening issue is water leaking inside the car. This is an electric vehicle, which makes this an extremely serious safety concern. We have an eight-year-old child who travels in this car, and we genuinely do not feel safe using it.
The situation has caused enormous stress to our family. We have lost time, paid for taxis, rearranged work and childcare, and spent countless hours chasing garages and the finance company. We were given replacement vehicles that were initially not comparable to what we are paying for, which caused even more disruption.
Despite all of this, Black Horse have dismissed the problems as “not significant” and offered just £300 compensation, while refusing to end the finance agreement. That response feels incredibly dismissive given the repeated failures, safety concerns, and emotional toll this has taken on us.
At no point have we felt listened to, supported, or protected. Instead, we are expected to continue paying for a car we no longer trust or feel safe driving.
I am sharing this experience so other people can make an informed decision. If safety, accountability, and support matter to you, please think very carefully before choosing Black Horse Finance.
Not allowed to access my account
Tried logging onto my account. They said my password is no longer suitable. Fine. I did the text message verification, ok I’ve jumped through another hoop. I enter a new password. I’m then met with we can’t change your password at this time. So I’ve entered the correct password but I’m not allowed to see my account? Unacceptable. They’re happy to take hundreds of pounds each month making loads of money on it.

Arranging car finance with Black Horse was straightforward and hassle-free. The advice was clear and helpful. The staff I spoke to were courteous, supportive and clear and concise in what they said.
Learn your consumer rights act
Purchased a car through finance with Blackhorse. Gearbox and shock absorber failed in first two months and Blackhorse failed to uphold my six months consumer rights. Had to utilise the financial ombudsman to resolve which took months. Unprofessional from start to finish. Will never use them again. Avoid

Leased a car through these and 2 years after the lease ended, paid in full, they are harassing me for more money. My next step will be to take them to court for breaking their own terms and conditions numerous times.

I have taken out car finance on two occasions with Black Horse in the recent past.
On each occasion I had difficulty communicating directly with Black Horse.
I was told online access to my account might take weeks to be available, so instead I had to call directly, which often involved extended periods waiting for the call to be answered.
The recorded message indicated a likely wait time of 5 minutes, although it was often +20 minutes.
When I did finally get through the staff were in the main helpful and accommodating.

They won’t accept clearance of contracts unless it’s a debit card ?
Words fail me , even above and beyond that the APR was 12.9% ?
My bad , but the ombudsman has them bang to rights and not before time.
Poor Phone Support and Portal Performance
If you can do things through the portal, and it works, that is great. Don't expect to contact them by phone though if it goes wrong, awful menu experience where "talk to a human" isn't a menu item and the wait time is excessive.
Moved from 2 to 1 star after a non apologetic call with customer services. Made an additional payment in October, they didn't process it but didn't bother to tell me that on the portal, just kept me hanging on the phone for 20 minutes instead when I queried why it wasn't showing up.

Every month they send me an email saying that is a Q but when they took my money secretly they took them in 20 min, find out later after 14 day of buying the car when you can't do anything that my car was more expensive with 15000!!!!
Black Horse Finance - Process relatively smooth.
Black Horse Finance very quick and efficient in their credit checks. Very quick in their decision making for approval. Not transparent enough to explain their decision on the APR and what customers need to be aware if they run into issues with the car purchased and finance agreement, i.e.gap insurance etc. Overall process was relatively smooth.
