I’d just like to say that I rated it a 1 star as there is no zero option . We attended the “firework “ display last Friday the 7th . After the parking fiasco then the long walk down to the viewing area , which was a long walk with no lighting and the grass was covered in cowpats , we stood waiting and waiting . Couldn’t get to a vendor as the queues were so long . So 8 o’clock came and went. , and went and finally the “ fireworks “ started . We were shocked 😳 Are they having a laugh !!!!! Extravaganza!!!! They should offer everyone that attended a full refund . I’m pretty sure the fireworks from a local shop would have been better than what was let off at this supply . We left after 5 minutes . A lot of people with children left befire the fireworks actually started , due to cold or the kids being bored . And as for the ex cause of it was the weathers fault , come on are you kidding us . Are people that gullible that they believe this . Absolutely disgusted by how they have treated people . You should be ashamed of your lack of care to people that spent a lot of money to visit your useless display , Did you actually carry out a risk assessment?? Looks like you didn’t . Let’s hope word gets about anc you flip next year. Shame on you .

Zero stars really

Zero stars really. The fireworks "display" was a joke, well I'm not laughing really as got completely ripped off, injured and covered in mud.
They have no regard to health and safety. This is a warning to everyone: Do not go to any of their events!

Greedy

Update - REFUSED REDUND! me and hundred other people got copy/paste email from them!
This has to be raised with press and authorities!

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, I am entitled to a refund when a service is not provided with reasonable care and skill or when the organiser fails to deliver what was advertised. A “no refunds” clause cannot override statutory consumer rights.

The bonfire night event! It was, though, the most oversold event! People walking to get there on time for miles! Moms pushing prams on the road where cars are driving and also parked all over the place just to get there on time! I’ve spent in car queue almost 2 hours just to be told at the gate that I have missed and I should request a refund! I’m glad my son was not crying but he was simply confused about how many people didn’t Imake it. ! Hundreds of people didn’t! The traffic jam was around 4 miles long! The most disappointing experience this year!

Paid 36 quid for the worst fireworks

Paid 36 quid for the worst firework display ive ever been to.

Parking was atrocious. Staff told us a refund was gonna be given now they are saying they aren't.

Will never return and urge everyone to stay away from any events these hold as they have no idea what they are doing.

What a total let down!!!

What a total let down!!!
Who ever was responsible for the management of this event, should be sacked!!
Insufficient parking Marshalls, lack of food outlets, family entertainment was laughable and the grand finale of the fireworks display, which was some 30 minutes late, was very poor and low key.
Then to top it all, when it came to leaving, it was total chaos, a free for all, no traffic management was so ever.
After some 45 minutes of a total stand still, the police who were inside the grounds applied some “common sense” and had the rear entrance opened up, thus allowing cars to escape.
We certainly won’t be going again!!

Avoid at all cost

Never been in an event as badly organized as the bonfire night yesterday. Worst thing is that they had similar issues previous years and have done nothing. Expecting full refund

£18 a head for fireworks was a rip off

£18 a head for fireworks was a rip off, never again. After almost 2 hours of driving to get there, a queue as far as you could see which took over an hour to get parked. The stewards for parking were almost non existent and had no order on how the rows were set out to a point that plenty of cars looked like they'd been abandoned. No one checked the QR code tickets on arrival so we could have gone in for free if not pre booked.
The Elvis tribute act was dreadful as if they'd picked a random someone from the local pub for karaoke.
I didn't have to use them but I heard comments of the toilet block being poorly lit and no lighting in the cubicle themselves.
Immense queues for food and drink and even then, £20 for 2 mulled wines with a shot of rum in each that wouldn't fill a small coffee cup, pretty much was one sip and it's gone. Was told if we weren't happy we could just leave it.
The bonfire was so far away and down the hill that you you saw very little of it and now for the fireworks, they were decent for all of about 20 seconds at the end where a lot of people made the comment of 'is that it'. I've seen better displays done in people's back gardens and wouldn't recommend going to anyone.
Leaving was just as much of a nightmare due to the soft surface for parking as a number of cars got stuck in the mud bath, this lead to a complete gridlock which even the tractor struggled to contend with. Eventually after well over an hour of waiting they opened a second exit route that should have been done in the first place and traffic finally started moving.
I'm sure if you've got this far then you know that I will not be visiting Belvoir Castle again and feel that it's diabolical that the organisers think that it's acceptable to hold a so called 'fireworks display' event as bad as this one.
For a constructive comment, I'm not sure if I can give one. Just give up holding another fireworks event and save everyone the misery

Fireworks 7/11/25: greed and ensuing chaos.

Fireworks Night 7th Nov 2025.
The event was completely shambolic. Massive queues of traffic on the three approach roads with no traffic management at all until the final turn into the field. It took us 50 mins to reach the field having entered the castle approach road. The parking area was a quagmire in places, with virtually no guidance from stewards so people were parking wherever they could. Cars were slipping and sliding dangerously. It was chaotic.
Any relief we had felt at finally arriving quickly dissipated when we saw the queues for food and drink. It took 40 minutes to get some toasted sandwiches for hungry children.
The number of porta-loos was completely inadequate given the large number of people who had paid £15-£18 to attend. We couldn’t find a bin anywhere for rubbish. When the fireworks did start (understandably delayed to enable the inevitable late arrivals to watch) the slope of the land and masses of people made it difficult to see and appreciate them. The display was much shorter than expected.
The finale of the debacle was trying to exit the site. Once again guidance from stewards was non existent. We waited in the queue for 45 minutes, then turned around and used an alternative route which had magically opened. I overheard a steward remark to his mate about the chaos - but he obviously wasn’t going to do anything to help clear it up! When I told him of our 45 minute wait he replied with a sarcastic “bye”.
There is no doubt that Belvoir Castle just wanted to maximise profits by allowing far too many people to buy tickets. The number of concessions was entirely inadequate given the hundreds of people attending. If you’re going to disallow people to bring their own food and drink you have to provide more outlets; the queues were just ridiculous.
Stop being greedy, Belvoir Castle, and have some respect for the families who paid a not insignificant amount for an evening of mud, queuing, and irritation.

We attended the 2025 fireworks event at…

We attended the 2025 fireworks event at Belvoir Castle and honestly, it was a complete letdown from start to finish. The whole evening was plagued by disorganisation, endless queues, and genuine safety concerns. The event took place in a dark, overcrowded, muddy field. It felt unsafe, and I dread to think what would have happened in an actual emergency.

The advertised “live music” was basically poor karaoke at best, and for most of the night it was just a DJ playing from a playlist. Food options were abysmal. Only a handful of vendors (burger vans and trailers) with shockingly long queues. We paid £43 for four cheese toasties and cans of pop, and that was the cheap choice compared to other stalls charging £14 per portion for curry or noodles. No chance of getting a hot drink either.

The fireworks themselves were embarrassingly bad. Not set to music, lasted barely ten minutes, and genuinely worse than what you get at free local council events.

To top it off, we then sat for hours trying to get out of the car park.

Overall, a complete waste of money and time. Absolutely shocking event, would never return or recommend this event!

Dreadful! Just dreadful!!

Car parking took an hour! Queue for food…..an hour!! 45 minute delay of fireworks probably because people were still parking!!! Needed binoculars to see the bonfire! One hook-a-duck stall to entertain little ones.
The most dreadful event ever! It couldn’t have been worse!

I want my money back!

I want my money back!! Just short of £50 paid for this terribly organised event!! Took over an hour to park, the fireworks were 40 mins late, there were not enough facilities, outlets etc. So many people had to leave before the fireworks even started. Including our family!! Belvoir castle, you have just gotten far too greedy!!

Firework event terrible

Tried to go to their firework show, what an unbelievably terribly organised event all round. Took an hour to get from the Redmile crossroads to the entrance, zero traffic management or control whatsoever. Was directed to drive down a wet grass hill instead of the main path and had to fight to maintain control of my vehicle sliding across the mud. Food and drink offering was dire with 100-person long lines, far better options at a local village event last year. Show was late and we left early because we felt so unsafe trying to get out of the car park which was rapidly turning to mud with many getting stuck. What a terrible shame for £18 per ticket, I can safely say we will never be returning.

Belvoir bonfire fireworks…

Belvoir bonfire fireworks evening……don’t go!!!!
Absolute carnage travelling to and parking up, not enough hospitality for the amount of people. Firework display was average and short. Then carnage leaving. Not worth the £18 paid, much better event and experience at our local displays in Radcliffe and bingham.

Firework show

I went up to your firework show and it was shocking to be honest . There was slippy mud all over the place causing people to slip over, and being a danger to people walking down the road. A young child almost fell and almost slipped under a car and the parents werent aware as they were focused on trying not to slip .there is barely any safety precautions and not many security to help people be safe. absolutely appalled and drove 2 hours just to go home again. safety is terrible and it's clear that the castle wasn't concerned about the safety of the people. It was difficult to drive because the mud was slippy. Finally , the parking was very unorganised due to poor leadership of the staff. There was no way of getting out the place. Fortunately we managed to get out of there before we were stuck for hours on end. it took us a while to get out of the mud path that was supposed to be a "road". 1 star 😠😠

Castle amazing, avoid tea room

Thought the castle was amazing. Loved a walk around the gardens too. Only disappointment was our experience in the tea room. Just because you put a table cloth on the table and serve tea in a china cup doesn't mean that you can charge whatever you like. Very over priced, left feeling I had been scamed.

1940s day

I went with a friend the the 1940's "festival".
We paid £9 each and was expecting there to be a lot going on, stalls, decoration etc, However it was just the singing on a very windy corner of the castle. There were no seats and we weren't advised to bring our own.
We had a look around the gardens which were very scruffy. We asked where the tea rooms were and were told if we hadn't booked we would need to go into the "servant quarters". Well it might as well have been! A very depressing room, and when we asked for a cream tea it came in a a cardboard box and a paper cup! I asked if I could have a proper cup and they said that would only be possible in the other tea rooms which was fully booked.
The castle seems very run down inside (the bit you were allowed in)
We went over the road to the Bistro and managed to get a decent cuppa there. I spoke to the Manager and he said the whole thing was badly organised. Very disappointing as we'd gone to a lot of effort and dressed in the style of the 1940's.

Dear Julie, thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. We take all feedback very seriously and will use your comments to improve our offering for future events. The weather was unfortunate, as it does get very windy up on the Castle terrace.. Apologies there wasn't a seat for you, we were very happy for you to bring your own. Again, apologies this wasn't made clear. Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the Old Servants Hall, which is our overspill tearoom when the Aviary is fully booked. We were only offering take away items in this room. Your request for a proper cup should have been addressed, that is unacceptable and we shall discuss this with the team. Thank you for making an event and we are pleased to hear you enjoyed the Bistro. We hope we might see you again soon.

What a gem of a place!

We visited as part of the Paranormal Eye group.

As you drive up to the Belvoir Castle Estate you can't help but be impressed. Everywhere looks majestic and well looked after. The imposing castle stands up on a hill overlooking the estate, where you'll find self-catering accommodation, petting zoo, and retail area.

We stayed in the Lodge and this was a super plush but comfy venue - there were lots of bedrooms (I lost count), several relaxing living room areas and a very well equipped kitchen, perfect for social dining.

The gated parking area was nice and secure, but more importantly, made the Lodge super private.

We had room 10 and it was absolutely stunning - super comfy beds, and bedding and everything you needed in the bedroom from robes to a mini fridge and coffee machine (Google the instructions if you're not sure how to work it, it's really easy when you know how!). The towels are fluffy and the bathroom was huge - its worth noting that is no shower facilities, but who cares when you have the deepest bath to sink into.

We spent the days of our stay exploring the wider Estate and enjoyed leisurely lunches in the onsite Bistro, a browse in some lovely artisan shops in the retail area, and refreshing walks around the Estate. We did pop to the castle, but sadly we didn't have enough time to really explore as much as we would have liked. Never mind, its a great excuse to return. What a gem of a place!

Great vineyard tour, tasting and supper

We took another couple with us on the vineyard tour, tasting and supper. What a wonderful experience! Full marks to the whole team for making it happen. We enjoyed delicious food from Jane and Nicola, Belvoir wines served by Ru, and a great introduction to the vineyard from Mark. Plus, the Estate Bus ride was a real highlight. We dined al fresco amongst the vines, gazing at the most fabulous castle view set in the Capability Brown landscape, and with Hereford calves gambolling on the parkland nearby. A memorable evening.
