As with so many companies, everything's great up until you have an issue.

Purchased the brandy wine strand woven bamboo flooring. This was put into a flat including the kitchen area. The product description and FAQ page, which is what a customer would read when ordering a product, clearly state that this flooring can be used in a kitchen.

About three months after fitting, a 2-3mm gap appeared down the entire length of two planks. After several emails back and forth over several months it transpires that this is due to the kitchen units being fitted on top of the flooring which stops the flooring being able to expand and contract.

All the emails from Bamboo Family contained one thing - finger pointing and blame. All they could come up with was repeatedly stating "your fitter will know" (that the flooring cannot be put under kitchen units) and that this is mentioned (very poorly in reality) in the fitting guide.

A customer would not read a fitting guide when ordering a product and quite likely not read it at all as the customer would hire a fitter in most instances. The flooring has been fitted…repeatedly saying "your fitter will know" offers zero help to customers! No ideas or suggestions on how to make things better…no responsibility on their side of them having caused this issue due to their product description which lacks critical information. "We’ve taken your money - we don't care" is their attitude.

Bamboo Family have now recently decided to update their website to state that this flooring can't be used in a kitchen when fitting it under kitchen units. This is of zero use to me as I now have an entire flat with this flooring and quite possibly at some point after presumably more and more gaps appearing I'll have to rip out the entire floor costing me several thousand pounds and replace it with flooring that can go under kitchen units. All of this because Bamboo Family didn't correctly describe their product or take any responsibility for doing so.

Appalling customer service.

*Warning* do not let this company fit your bamboo flooring! In December 2023 they supplied and fitted a floor in our new house extension. Unfortunately, this wasn’t fitted competently and resulted in court action (CCJ Ref: 546MC766).
A two-year battle resulting in a payment of over £5000 in our favour.
The joint Court Expert Witness concluded:
“The gaps are the result of not installing the flooring to the Bamboo Family Co installation instructions or to British Standards.”
“The flooring has not been installed as contracted to British Standards”
“The evidence shows the installers have not installed the flooring with a high level of competence”
Look for another company

Good price, fast delivery, excellent quality and packaging even our builder commented on, very helpful on the phone working out how many packs we needed and we were able to return an unopened pack when we still had too much. Be prepared to have a pallet to dispose of though (they do warn you)!

Quick service, and the flooring is nice quality. A couple of planks were damaged by the parcel carriers, but these were replaced promptly.

Very good standard of service from ordering to delivery.. Excellent product and i would certainly use this company again.

From sending samples, to ordering, to delivery I cannot fault this company. There was a very quick response to any questions I submitted by email. I fitted my floor myself, removing and replacing skirting boards, and the finished floor looks amazing. The bamboo flooring is a fantastic product, easy to work with yet very hard - this will take some denting!

We ordered bamboo flooring from bamboofamily and being left down by another supplier previously and with the project being paused, bamboofamily stepped in and offered an express delivery of a product that perfectly matched our needs. David, delivered the flooring like next day, all the way from Manchester to where we live. I am yet to install the flooring, but the planks look very hard and well build/cut with a nice finish all arround. Also last but not least the planks are very well packed which is very important.

I ordered samples and was blown away by the quality of every sample received. The wood was amazing and tge sample size was very generous. Approx 9 inches each

Their email contact and offers of assistance have also been excellent. We have not purchased yet but they are my top choice when we are ready to.

Great communication with enquires prior to ordering. The order arrived when stated without any difficulties fitting down our narrow street which I was concerned about. We have had the floor down for nearly a year and it still looks as new. It was pretty easy to install and to keep clean. Has also held up to the paws of an excitable labradoodle who visits us regularly, with not a sign of scratches. I would recommend Bamboo Family and would use them again in the future.

Bamboo family flooring offer great products and the best customer service. Lilly responded to all my queries promptly and processed a refund for an order I had to cancel the same day. This is an honest and trustworthy small family firm.

Very helpful in the showroom, very helpful on the phone, quick delivery and great communication and that’s before we get on to what an amazing product this flooring is! So easy to install and it looks fantastic when it’s down. Definitely a five star company and product.

Very pleased with the ease of ordering the free samples which were of marvellous quality with a good top finish to them. Better than a lot of flooring that I have looked at .

Bamboo Family were really fast in sending us the requested samples, furthermore, they produced special samples for us to meet our requirements. Lily was great at keeping us updated!
