Looked at my bank statement , they have been taking £9.90 a month since March .I didn't realise as I thought it was domestic and general .Rang them up the person sounded about 10 years old! Cancelled my direct debit today ! On a low income and now out of pocket.Trading standards involved

I like most of you were misled by this company, I have for years used domestic and general. I was not going to pay £25 to cancel policy so mistakenly thought I’d remain with them for just 12 months , making monthly direct payments for the policy. Unfortunately I had to call them last week as my machine developed a problem. They called me this morning to inform me that an engineer will not be coming unless I pay the remainder of my monthly direct debits today for the rest of the years policy!!!!! How disgraceful!! Why offer MONTHLY direct debits when they only send an engineer if you pay a years payments!! What a terrible company. When I tried to question why the operate in this manner I was put through to cancellations. Please be aware of my review.

I received a letter from Domestic AssureGuard laying out an agreement to provide an annual service agreement for a " Free standing washing machine (not a washer dryer), together with a Direct Debit summary. I then noticed a DD had been set up on our account, but managed to contact our bank to cancel it and reverse the first debit.
At no time had we contacted this company as we had alternative arrangements for our machine. Where did they get our details from, including our bank details. I will be contacting the Information Commissioner and Trading Standards on this.
Be wary of this company and reject any approach.

Ensure that you read all the reviews. Always ask them to provide your policy number to verify. If they are not covering you, they can't provide that even though, I'm led to believe, they can get other details from the insurers database. They could not tell us any specific details about our appliances, dates of cover commencement and direct debits so were clearly up to no good. . . . all they knew were expiry dates.

On the start of June assure phoned me saying my policy was about to expire,He informed me the price to RENEW the cover I agreed.He also informed me cover has stated straight away.
3 weeks later I had another call saying the same thing.
TODAY I tried to make a claim and was told the cover had to be in placed for at least 3-4 mounts or pay xxx amount.I cancelled it, after thinking I phone back to pay the amount and s get my application sorted.But have been told the policy has been cancelled a refund will be paid within 5-7 working days.The cover I had was a new policy not renewed and there sales team never told me it's a that.
Be very careful of this company.

I too was a victim of this company. I was under the impression that they were domestic and general and said they couldn't renew due to gdpr. Luckily I noticed things were not right when the plan info came through. I have cancelled, notified my bank and I am in contact with Domestic and General with regards to reporting to the proper authorities. Avoid!!!!
Edit: today I received an email saying that asureguard have flagged my review as defamatory and/or illegal.
I see they have removed the 'domestic' from their name. Perhaps they have turned a new leaf and are no longer leading people to believe that they are Domestic and General in order to gain revenue.
I would say go with the real Domestic and General and avoid this company.

Oh no looks like I've become a victim too. Said they were D&G that my policy was due to expire and that due to GDPR they weren't allowed to hold banking details. So I stupidly believed them. But have not received any documentation.

I too was misled into thinking that the lady was from D&G. I even asked her if that was the case and she assured me that she was. I have now cancelled my Direct Debit after one payment, having seen on my bank statement that the usual DG payment also went out. How can these people be allowed to trade at all?

Avoid this company! I've just had a phone call from them pretending to me D&G claiming I need to renew my washing machine cover....luckily I realised they was dodgy so managed to get him off the phone, but not before he had checked my card details, I've now cancelled my card with the bank....quite shocking really!!

Recieved a letter at my parents address re: policy renewal for a washing machine i dont own they had somehow got my bank details but i dont know how!! i phoned them to enquire and get the policy cancelled which they say they have. AVOID

led me to believe that they are part of D&G ,just having another dedicated line of insurance to their loyal customers. i am now holding the phone line for the last 15 minute to try to cancel the so called policy ,still within the cooling off period.
