Honest apology
Having submitted a one star review I’ve redrafted the OP following what is clearly an honest apology. Whilst Aquila may have let me down it’s important in business to acknowledge when things go wrong, commit to putting it right and offer an apology. Aquila have done all these things so I can’t ask for any more. Thank you for taking the time to do so. We all make mistakes in life and things go wrong from time to time.

We're genuinely sorry — and frankly embarrassed — reading this, because every word of it points to us letting you down twice: first by pushing a video survey when you'd clearly asked for a home visit, and then by failing to show up for the appointment we made. That's not acceptable, and you're right to call it out.
There's no excuse, but by way of honest context: the repeated heatwaves in the UK this summer have brought an unprecedented surge in air conditioning enquiries, and our booking process simply hasn't kept pace. That's our problem to fix, not yours — and it's cost you a day off work, which we completely understand is worth far more than any fee.
On the £30 charge: we don't know why that was mentioned to you, and it should never have been. That charge only applies when a booked job — chargeable work with an engineer scheduled — is cancelled within 24 hours. It never applies to free-of-charge quotation appointments like yours. It had no place in this conversation whatsoever, and we're sorry it was raised at all.
We're glad you've found a company who's looked after you. If you'd ever be willing to trust us again, we'd like to offer you a free annual service on your air conditioning next year, as a genuine apology for the time you lost. Just email us at enquiries@aquila-plumbing.com and we'll arrange it — no strings attached.
Either way, we're sorry, and we're using this review to tighten up how survey appointments are booked, confirmed and honoured.

Domestic Air Con Units Fitted
The installation of two air con units was carried out to my complete satisfaction. Pete was the main installer and he was polite, professional and respectful of our home. The rest of the team were too, but Pete was the lead installer. Good communication from the company throughout the installation process. The initial quote was both professional and informative with all our questions being answered. I have no hesitation in recommending this company. Fair price for an excellent service.

Terrible customer service!!! SCAMMERS!!!! Called out for a problem, they came out to said problem, carried out work but was still having the same problem, they then came out again and said oh the first lot of work had nothing to do with your problem thats a separate issue!!!! Now want to charge me more money to solve my initial problem! Never communicated from the beginning, just keep adding charges on and expected to pay!!!!!

We're sorry to hear that you've been left feeling frustrated by your experience with us. We always aim to communicate clearly and provide the best possible service, so we're disappointed that this was not your perception.
To provide some context, the issues we attended to over the six-month period were separate faults affecting different parts of your heating and plumbing system:
• In July, while attending to provide a free air conditioning quotation, you asked our engineer to investigate an issue with your hot water cylinder. Although diagnostic visits are normally chargeable, no diagnostic fee was charged on this occasion. We subsequently provided a quotation, completed the agreed work in August, and the invoice was settled.
• In November, we were called out regarding a boiler fault. Following diagnosis, we identified issues with the expansion vessel and pressure relief valve, provided a quotation, and carried out the repair in December.
• In January, we attended a further call relating to the heating system switching off. Our engineer diagnosed a faulty two-port valve, which is a separate component from both the boiler and hot water cylinder.
We appreciate that experiencing multiple unrelated faults in a relatively short period can be both inconvenient and costly. However, our recommendations, quotations and charges were provided based on the individual issues identified during each visit.
We certainly never intend to add unexpected costs, and we apologise if any aspect of our communication was unclear. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns directly and review the matter with you in more detail.

Awkward job to fix intermittent leak under the kitchen cupboards where the mains water comes in. Replaced mixed plastic and copper with all copper / brass fittings, all with kitchen cupboards in situ
