Bought a travel insurance for my recent…
Bought a travel insurance for my recent travel starting on 26 June 2026. My baggage got delayed for three days, and made a claim straightaway. They sent me to this claim handling company called Gallagher Bassett who asked me to send all the evidence. Did that, and they asked if I bought anything and asked for receipt. I said I did, but my policy does not require me to keep receipt as I am entitled to a £50 compensation per day of the delay. No word from the company until now. Get on the phone only to wait for half an hour before giving up. Pray you don't need an emergency medical operation while abroad with this company insuring you.
Update: My claim has now been processed. Thanks for following up on my complaint. I updated the score too.

Positive prior experience
I have had annual travel insurance with this company for over 14 years. In 2014 I was taken ill two days before my holiday and was admitted to hospital. The illness resulted in open heart surgery which then affected another booked holiday i had booked for later in the year. ATI were brilliant, I completed all their paperwork along with supporting evidence of my hospital admission and I received a refund for both holidays without any quibbles. I thought I was going to have difficulty in getting my money back, but no, that was not the case, my money came through about a month after putting in my claim. I could probably find my travel insurance cheaper elsewhere, but would they pay out when needed. I have a positive experience with ATI, their rate is competitive and I know through past experience that if I do have to put in a genuine claim, it will not be a hassle and I am covered.

It's travel insurance what else can you say, apart from it was a little cheaper than my annual renewal. The T's&C's are a bit long winded as always and could do with condensing and plane wording instead of the obvious jargon to confuse as ALL insurance companies use. I just hope I never need to claim, the process of going through the purchase was fine so no argument there.
