Age 56 and have worn varifocal glasses for 11y years .
Originally went for laser treatment only to find I had cataracts.One option was to go for lens replacement after cataract removal which I was a little hesitant about .
I needn't have been ,from start to finish David Anderson and his team couldn't have done anything else to help me.
The procedure to my amazement was quick and painless and within 48 hrs my eyesight was just amazing.Im seeing things and colours like I did when I was in my 20's
Their aftercare is great just having had my 2 week checkup .
I can't thank them enough it's life-changing and I would recommend to anyone who is thinking about it.

SMILE laser eye surgery was life changing and totally uncomplicated. Great medical care by Mr Anderson and his Team in Jersey and Southampton. I was unsure whether to go with Mr Anderson because of the presentation on his slick website.

But he is steady and professional in real life, and SMILE is truly a very straightforward procedure and you leave the theatre half an hour later with vision without glasses.

I was able to see the same day without glasses, from -7 and -6.25. The aftercare is straightforward with drops several times a day to prevent infection. There was no pain and only mild discomfort for the first day.

Absolutely life changing, and I am so delighted to have had the procedure.

I have had both cataract replaced. I had radial keratotomy many years ago which made it a more complicated procedure. The service was very good from start to finish. Mr Anderson explained everything in detail. Still early days yet but my vision is so much clearer.

It’s been just under a month after my ASA eye treatment and I already have 20/20 vision!!

Bilateral Cataract Surgery

I was a very nervous patient but My Anderson and his team were so caring and allayed my fears to make the whole procedure as easy as possible for me.

To say that I am delighted with the outcome is the understatement of the century. This past week I have driven without spectacles for the first time ever, I can read, do my beloved crafts and who knew that the television could be so clear.

I’ve had LASEK (ASA) surgery with Mr Anderson 4 months ago. My prescription was very high but my eyesight now is better than 20/20!
I particularly appreciate that the doctor performed all the pre-and post-op visits himself, and spent the time to go into the details of what he was going to do.
In contrast, before finding them, I did go for a preliminary visit with one of the “big chains”, which felt very rushed and commercially-oriented.
Mr Anderson supported my recovery throughout. He and his team were there for me whenever I had a question or an issue.

Recently had bilateral cataract surgery with Mr Anderson. From initial consult to post op consult whole experience was 10/10 - super efficient, engaging, great results. Highly recommend.

Due to nhs keep cancelling my appointments I am blessed I have copd on oxygen 24/7 and no one wanted to do my eyes. After waiting many years to have Laser eye treatment I couldn't be happier with my surgery. The whole experience has been very easy from start to finish. I knew I am in the best of hands when I entered the clinic, from the wonderfully friendly and helpful reception staff, to the optometrists to the the surgeon himself. I can’t even explain how fantastic my experience was with Anderson Eye Care.

I have rheumatoid arthritis, which made dealing with my eyes difficult. Not knowing where to start I enquired with the well known name clinics and they either didn’t want to know or I didn’t have confidence in their knowledge to support the arthritis elements. One company asked for a letter from my consultant to say my arthritis was stable before they would discuss, so when I called up the hospital for this letter one of the nurses said to me ‘why don’t you want this done in a hospital where you know there is a standard and emergency equipment is around you is anything goes wrong?’ and recommend Anderson Eye Care. I considered what the the nurse said and she was totally right in her question! Eyes are so precious, do the best you can for them.

I enquired straight away and spoke to an incredibly helpful lady who was full of information. I booked in for my first appointment. At the appointment I was stunned by the knowledge behind my arthritis and the detailed explanations of why my arthritis made things more difficult. I was never met with negativity or pushback. The tests on my eyes were thorough and the result was that they were in good condition.

I had asked for the typical LASIK (that’s all I was really aware of), but it was recommended the I go with SMILE due to my condition. Having already shown me how familiar with my condition they were, I followed the recommendations 100%.
The whole process was explained to me of what to expect on the day of the surgery and the pressure I might feel was replicated on my eye so I knew what to expect.

Laser day came (a Saturday) and everything ran to the exact time it should do, the team in the room were so friendly and welcoming. When I laid down they popped a blanket over me and a really lovely nurse kept rubbing my arm for reassurance during the whole process.
The surgery itself was a surprise (in a great way). I thought they were still setting up the machine to do the first eye when they said ‘next eye now’. They had done the first eye and I didn’t even know!!! It was amazing! I didn’t get the pressure that I prepared for at all. When researching online about laser eye surgery, I read that some people smell a burning, but I didn’t experience that at all.
They checked my eyes to make sure they were happy (they felt it had gone really well) before going back to my room and going through the drops and home care.

As for the aftercare, I don’t feel this could have been any better. I went back the next day (the Sunday), my vision was better than 20/20 and I was cleared to drive. I had several follow-up appointments to check my eyes, the last one being six months after the surgery.

I’m trying to not write a novel here, so I’ve done an overview of my experience, but there are so many details that I want to rave about from the start to the end of the entire journey.

The best two things I ever did was correct my eyesight (it was life changing) and use Anderson Eye Care to do it.

I specifically want to note the fantastic people that I dealt with during every aspect of my time with Anderson Eye Care. EVERY single individual was welcoming, friendly and kind. I genuinely looked forward to attending all of my appointments.

I have one good eye,the other being blind for many years. The sight in good eye was starting to deteriorate and a cataract operation was advised obviously nervous about the outcome, I was recommended to Mr Anderson by my daughter after she had both eyes treated for cataracts on the same day. Mr Anderson was most reassuring and extremely helpful in quelling my nervousness. The operation was painless and the outcome entirely satisfactory. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

Undergoing LASIK surgery was truly life changing for me. Wearing specs or contacts just to be able to find a bathroom in a strange place was really getting me down and not being able to see the end of the stairs when walking down them in glasses wasn’t very safe.
The procedure itself was quick and virtually painless. Within a day, I noticed remarkable improvement in my vision. Well, in one eye. I managed to sabotage the great work but this was quickly resolved and in a very calming and reassuring way.

The new found clarity and freedom from glasses or contacts have significantly enhanced my daily life and I do not need glasses at all now. It really has been transformative and I’m grateful for the positive impact LASIK has had on my vision.

Follow up care also excellent with two further assessments by Mr Anderson in Jersey.

My SMILE laser eye surgery was fantastic. As someone who has an apprehensiveness of eyes this was a challenging task for me to undertake, however through numerous consultations Mr Anderson and his team explained everything to me thoroughly. Additionally, everyone I met along the journey was compassionate and patient.

The operation itself was painless and relaxed, furthermore the aftercare, even though extensive, was clearly explained.

48 hours after my procedure I returned to the clinic for an eye test, I was already at 20/20 vision, which was incredible.
